Squeezing a manual big tube gun might seem like no big deal but after a couple hours it ... These are a total "game changer" when putting down sub-floor. Squeezing a manual big tube gun might seem like no big deal but after a couple hours it gets to be torture. This is so easy it's ridiculous. I thought about the cordless version but since I am already there with air hoses run this seems just fine and costs less. Just keep the hose out of the glue and run on auto-pilot. Awesome tool. 5Love it. I'll never go back. This thing is amazing. We use it with Sikaflex to fill in joints in concrete floors, and it is a hand saver for sure. It has been very reliable and it SO much easier than using a hand tool. The pneumatic plunger will pinch your fingers, however, if you're not careful. One of my guys wasn't paying attention and ended up with a pretty gnarly bruise. That's more a testament to his lack of awareness than the product though.5This thing is a beastI don't write many reviews, but damn this thing is awesome.I helped a friend glue foam board to the ceiling of her basement a few years ago and I could barely hold a beer at the end of the day. I am finishing my basement and it is much larger, so I started looking. I didn't want to get a rechargeable cordless model due to cost, and I stumbled on this. A 2.6 gallon pancake air compressor only kicks on briefly, so don't worry about needing a powerful compressor.I went through 26 tubes of Loctite PL Premium putting up 50 sheets in a weekend. I could have used less glue, but for how easy it was to use, I wasn't too concerned about saving a few bucks. Also, if you swap plungers from this and a 10oz caulk gun you can use that size as well.5Gun's plunger locked up - not good!I ordered this caulk gun, because I had a pretty large home project to do. I was sealing my driveway & sidewalk expansion joints, which involved needing approx. 48 large - 29oz. Sika sealant tubes. We had nice weather, for 2 days, so I was on a short timeline to complete my project. The Cox caulk gun arrived, and looked really nice! I added some air tool oil before I even plugged it into my air line. I adjusted my psi regulator to 60 psi. and tested the gun for proper operations...everything seemed to be working well. So off to work on my project I go! Everything was working as expected. The caulk gun was going to be a Godsend I thought, because it made applying the sealant a breeze. Well, on the 7th. tube (of 48), I noticed that plunger wasn't retracting correctly? So I added some more air tool oil to the inlet fitting, before I inserted the next tube. On the 8th. tube, the gun's plunger locked up completely!! It wouldn't move in either direction?!? You've got to be kidding me I thought to myself! Why now? So I had to run to a Big Box Store (the orange one), and buy a manual 29oz. caulk gun, to complete my project. Yep, I hand pumped the remaining 40 tubes of sealant! Luckily for me, the Sika self leveling sealant flows really easy & well. Yes my fore arms were a little sore...and doing this, increased my grip strength too! So after I completed my project, I had to becareful holding a long neck bottle of beer, as I didn't want to crush the glass bottle in my hand!! ; ) The Cox Caulk Gun did work well...when it worked. But longevity & durability wasn't there. Frustration when the gun locked-up, was there! Completely Disappointed. Note: I had Zero Issues returning this item with Amazon. And received a full refund.1I love this thing I love this thing! I use it to put up foam board in my basement. It makes the job a sinch. I wish it stored in a smaller space but that's just fine for me. 5AWESOME WEAPON !Yes, all the reviews were correct on this one! One of those tools your not sure you'll need until you use it and then wonder why you didn't get it years ago ! Work's fantastic! Flow is smooth and even! Has it's own built in pressure regulator too. At least five times easier and faster than using your hand, especially on the 28 Oz tubes. One of my best tool purchases this year ! Will never caulk by hand again !5I can never live without this anymore! My husband and I put up the sheetrock in our upstairs - 1600 sq feet. We used sheetrock adhesive along with the screws. That got tiring on our hands right away! So I searched to see if there was something pneumatic. Voila!!It is so easy, quick, and efficient. You can have a consistent stream of calk on a 12 foot board. It doesn't kill your hand squeezing the manual caulk gun. You can cut your tube to to thin or thick, and then alter the pressure of the gun to match the speed you want. When the tube is a little low, we would turn down the pressure as the adhesive would come out faster since the air pressure didn't have a whole tube of glue to push against. We both love this. It is amazing. I'll never go back to a manual caulk gun again (unless it is just a dab here or there I need to do).I would love it if they had a tube canister for the smaller size tubes as well, and you cold switch them out. They only have the larger tube size. But, that small detail doesn't diminish how wonderful it is.We love it!!!5You don't have to be on your knees wen you have a huge caulkThe best thing: I no longer have to be on my knees wen resealing a roof, I reseal a lot of roofs and its really hard on the knees and yes I do wear the knee pads, The middle handle is adjustable and it has a Built in regulator, So you just turn the knob to increase or decrease the pressure, So no need for a external regulator, what I don't like: Is trying to keep the air hose away from the sealer just laid, if it gets on the hose its a huge mess, no joke, so I'm hopping somebody comes up with a rechargeable one for a reasonable price..4I highly recommend this!My boss handed me a manually operated caulking gun and directed me to a pallet of flooring caulk. There is 120 29oz tubes on the pallet. There is no way I'm doing 120 tubes by hand. So.... I ordered a Cox caulking gun. This gun is awesome. It flows the material evenly. It uses very little air. I am using my small air compressor. And, the most important thing. It's saving my wrists since it's powered by air. I highly recommend this if you have a big job like I have.5Fast & SmoothMake sure you practice a bit before using. Makes quick work of log cabin caulking. Great tool and hand saver if you're doing a lot of caulking.I found that making a smaller cut at the tip & turning down the pressure works best. Even though it releases pressure there's still some drip, so have something ready to catch it. Be sure you have a clear path and steady hand and it'll lay down a bead faster than anything.5It worked great and lasted for several years under daily use I had one of these that I bought from a national retailer. It worked great and lasted for several years under daily use. This one lasted a whole week before it broke....... I'm very disappointed. I understand that things sometimes have manufacturing defects but I haven't found a warranty or any recourse to get a replacement. So..... I guess I'll try to find one somewhere else..... 1Under rated toolI did not see the need for this sort of tool until I decided to insulate our basement wall. In that situation I had to bond 100+ expanded polystryrene panels to the wall. A hand actuated caulk gun was annoyingly slow and unreliable. So I opted for the pneumatic gun. It performed nearly flawlessly (just a bit difficult to clean). Squeezing our the glue went fast - easily justifying the cost of the gun in time savings. I recommend this one highly. I'm glad I have it now - the professionals who see it in action threaten to take it home with them.5A must for a big job!A must for re-filling adhesive in a long driveway. Started project with a manual caulk gun. It proved to be extremely difficult. The purchase of this gun made task much faster and easier.5
