It's too cheap to wonder if it's worth it........P.S. it is. This product was surprisingly great. When ordering I expected I was buying the ideal product for sharpening my POCKET knives. But I was wrong. When It came I found such ease in use that I continued along to sharpen ALL of my knives; kitchen, pocket, and tool knives. The size of the handle and the rectangular shape of the diamond stone make it ideal for grip and grace in running the stone along the sheer of the knife. I am very satisfied with this product, i think it may find a place in my survival kit. Oh and btw this did a better job and was less physically exerting than my $60 diamond sharpening rod.Corona AC 8300 Sharpening Tool 5Great sharpening tool I've used the product since June and it does a fantastic job. I've used it to sharpen my loppers and pruner several times this season. I am impressed at how well this tool works. The loppers were quite dull as it was hard to cut branches all the way through. After multiple sharpenings, the loppers are like new cutting all the way through. At the beginning of the season, I thought I may have to buy a new lopper and am very happy I no longer have to. My pruning shears are working great and cutting better than ever. I highly recommend this sharpening tool as it works on my non-Corona lopper and pruners without issue.It did take several sharpening efforts with the loppers to get them back to being sharp again. So, don't expect a miracle with the first sharpening pass. If they are dull, you'll need to repeatedly sharpen. Turns out I was underestimating the power of this bad boy. I had this tool run on the shears for just a few slides and it really worked like a charm! Couldn t be happier with this purchase. Five stars! 5Works with ease This little tool will sharpen the most difficult of blades. The carbide edge is strong and sharpens garden tools like axes, clippers and other items you wish were sharp when you picked them up to use. As advertised, just a few strokes are all it takes.It is important to spend a little time learning how to angle the edge of the tool correctly over the blade, or your stroke may be ineffective. Once that is accomplished, you will want to try it on everything. My wife now has a whole slew of sharpened pruners, cutters, loppers etc. 5Quick work at removing burrs out of a Lawnmower blade! I know it's not designed to sharpen lawnmower blades but I scrapped on up on a curb and thought I'd test this out in the field. A little tricky providing just enough pressure until the large nicks are beginning to smooth down. Until the nicks are smoothed out a little you have to go slow, "very short strokes" and experiment with pressure until you find the sweet spot. Also choking up helps alot. I had blade back to functional sharpness with no nicks in 5 minutes. I think for me, this tool will be most helpful when I am at home sharpening a lawnmower blade on my 1 X30 sander and want to just remove the burr on the backside without changing the angle. Sorta the same idea as not messing the angle up on the back of a chisel, but in this case it's really not as important to be quite as precise for good results. 5Admittedly a skeptic at first, now a believer I have to admit, I was a skeptic. I watched the "how-to" video and I came away doubting the effectiveness but I figured "what the heck", give it a try. I was going to have to spend the same amount getting my pruners sharpened once anyways, so why not... right?When I took the sharpening tool out of the package, I was expecting more of a "file" like (rough) texture... the sharpening area is a bit smooth. At this point, red flags started going off and I thought I was duped.Then I used it...and after a few swipes, the pruners were dangerously sharp again. I'm no longer a skeptic.I do have a couple tips. 1) The video shows the user "gliding" the sharpening tool over the pruner blade. I suggest applying a little bit of pressure - you can "feel" the sharpening tool catching. 2) In addition to sharpening your pruners, make sure you take the time to clean up all the "pitch" and sap off your pruners. Mine were so bad, I had to resort to using "Goof Off". My ARS pruners are back in tip top shape.FWIW, I was not compensated, or even asked to write this review. I'm just a happy customer who is going to save a bunch of money not having to take their pruners to get sharpened every spring and fall. 5I would have givien it 10 stars but they only allow 5. This thing is GREAT WOW .Brought new life to clippers. I have over 60 rose bushes in my yard and this sure makes pruning them so much easier.I got excited on the job they did to the pruners and ended up sharpening all the scissors, straight edged knifes in the house with it. No signs of wear at all. I Cleaned up and sharpened the Tree Limb Loppers and manual hedge trimmers as well.I even sharpened the Lawnmowers blade with them instead of using the file.Best investment you can make. 5You can be as gentle as you want and put a true fine edge on any blade. I am a long time sharpening enthusiast, I tend to stay away from V type carbide sharpeners since they are hard on fine knives. This little tool is far different, you can be as gentle as you want and put a true fine edge on any blade. This coming from a guy that has spent hundreds on stones and devices. Scissors, garden tools, knives and even your potatoe peeler. I used mine for one day and ordered three more and about to order two more. With a little finess I use it now on my finest knives. Order one, try it out you will see. Only $10 and prime no less. I have spent more on devices that turned out to be crap. Put one in your pocket, tool box or kitchen drawer. Have fun relaxing as you put a fine edge on any blade you have. Be gentle and scrape a great edge! 5Very easy to use on pruners and loppers This is a great tool to sharpen your pruners and loppers. In times past I've typically used a file, a small grinder, or other forms of sharpeners to put a new edge on my pruners; however, this little guy is extremely simple in comparison. I have several pairs of German-made pruners (mostly anvil style) that I've owned for many years. I've sharpened them using other methods as described above, but this tool has made things so much easier. There are other similar, more-expensive sharpeners out there, but this one seems to do the trick, so I don't see the need to spend more money. This sharpener really works, and it's a great value. 5
