Customer Reviews

high quality but still seems to love keeping a memory apparently high quality but still keeps a coil/has memory despite stretching thoroughly as described in various places and storing in various ways. i guess it's just a matter of using it a lot and over time it becomes the "dead snake" that i'm so desperately after. my friend has a hitachi one that he uses for his building business and it's weighted nicely and goes wherever he wants without a memory fighting him. but he's had it for a decade so that is probably the difference. 4American made and worth it. Have used the Senco grey rubber hose many of us have used forever;both1/4" and 3/8". Have always liked it alot and still do. But polyurethane hose is a lighter alternative. Nice when you're working on ladders, scaffold, anywhere in the air. Older now and this hose is easier to drag around all day. Makes your pneumatic nailers feel lighter, especilly overhead. This stuff is American made, has a softer feel and lays flatter on the ground or floor better than the cheaper imports available. The only negative is a tacky texture that can stick the hose to itself and around some inside corners. Think they're all like that..? Took some grey scotchbrite and wiped the hose as I stepped on it&stretching it a few feet at a time before putting it to work. Took away some of that tackiness and broke it in. Didn't attempt to use anything more course. Don't know if it this causes premature wear or warranty issues? But do we really care! lol. Buy it. If you don't like it, you probably won't like using any brand polyurethane hose out there. 5Coilhose Pneumatics PFE40254T Flexable Air Line I bought this airline 1 year ago, I wanted to wait to review until I had put it through the uses in my Custom Woodwork Shop, I live 75+ miles from any large city (more than 350 folks), I also live in the extreme N.E. corner of Wyoming we have winters that get -40 at times. I have NO insulation as my 40' x 70' shop is similar to a military Quonset hut (half rounded, no straight sides) I have had problems with air lines and electrical cords getting stiff enough to crack- I had been looking for air lines that are like the extension cords I use now - Blue in color and flexible to -30, this air line is a perfect solution and a very good price. I use it for a drop from my main line over my table saw, it has never caused any problems , it's always flexible . One day I'll get a larger wood stove or insulate (that would be costly) I don't run my equipment under 40 degrees or power up my compressor, that would be very hard on equipment, I don't use a large volume of air , so the small size works very well- Thanks to all who review the items we all buy and Thanks to Amazon for those reviews and fast shipping as well as the good price 5Pretty good hose for a good price. I bought a small, tanked compressor. The hose and the valve chuck that came with it was cheaply made. The hose developed leaks where it was stretch-formed over the nipples, and the rotating over time caused lots of leaks. The hose was also a tightly coiled kind, so getting length out of it was difficult and it caused the hose to twist in your hand a lot. This hose is longer and has less twist. That's good for reaching out to somewhere, but it does cause more of a storage issue as it does not recoil into a tightly wound hose. I am a bit worried about the actual nipple that screw into the fitting and the "stress relief" covers which are meant to reduce stress on the hose. You need to be careful attaching the hose to fittings so you do not over-torque the fittings. I also have a slight worry about the strength of the hose itself. It is rated above the output of my compressor and I know these new "miracle materials" are stringer than they appear, however the hose looks a little light. Only time will tell. For now, this beats what I had and it came at a good price. 4'The" Hose! after using the 1/4" flexeel i won't touch another hose. i have a 3/8 flezilla but it just sits coiled on the rack. the flexeel is light, compacts, super-flexable and easy to tote and coil. i even buy raw lengths now from a local hose shop to fab odd ball pneumatic projects including replacing the hose for my 12v portable air pump used when i 4wheel. a cool thing that i discovered is that you can use 1/4" barb fittings and the fit is so tight you don't need to crimp or clamp the end. just lube the inside of the hose and the outside of the barb and push like crazy! for fittings with long barbs, i trim the brass down to only 4 barbs or it's difficult to get the fitting all the way in. 5Best air hose for your dollar I used to work in a shop and we only used the rubber air hoses. With the addition of a new air compressor to my collection I figured I would try the polyurethane air hose. These hoses are amazing! They are thin and bend very easily. They allow you to fit into small areas a lot easier. The hose does not kink up either. I hooked up the hose with teflon tape and had no air leaks. The same time I bought this hose I also bought a rubber house to get 50 ft out of my hose. This polyurethane hose has held up to being dragged across the floor much better then the rubber hose. The rubber house has already shown signs of wear and some of the scratches can cause the hose to split later down the road.Another positive about the polyurethane hose is they fold up to be very compact for storage. I recommend a try, you will love it! 5I LOVE this Air Hose... I'm an avid DIY'er, and needed (more like wanted) a durable and top-tier air line that would last me forever. After much research I gave this hose a try, and could not be happier. In the few months of ownership I have abused it from everything shy of chewing on it myself. I have lost count of how many times I've cringed as I rolled over it with my mechanics creeper (loaded down with 270lbs of hunk) and my shop stools, waiting for it to start hissing......but only silence. No marks from the many mishaps, and no neck wear from the lack of a "Stubber hose" with the use of my 1/2" impact driver. Buy this one and be done.Remember: American Made = Americans Paid 5Great product I debated between this hose and a Flexzilla hose. I was SICK of cheap poly hoses that were stiff as board and stayed coiled unless it was 90 degrees out. This hose works GREAT. I have used it in very cold weather and it is only slightly stiff with very little coil "memory" (I now do not coil it but loop it over a ceiling support and let it hang). I also got the 1/4" rather than the 3/8" to get more flexibility. I use it for air nailers so a 1/4" hose is more than adequate. I also got the shorter 25 foot hose although it was almost the same price as the 50 foot, just less hose to have to sling around. If I need a longer length I just use the old stiff 3/8" 50 foot and put the Flexeel on the end. I still have the lightness and flexibility where I need it: at the nailer. The Flexzilla may be good also but some reviews I read said it swells up when pressurized which concerned me but I don't know why. May be a great item also, but I know this Flexeel is great. 5Lightweight and flexable! I needed a long, lightweight, and flexable airhose for running nailers and for odds and ends like filling tires. This fits the bill nicely! It's 100' and even with the couplers (not included) comes in under 3 lbs or so I would guess. It's flexible and yet resists twisting. It wants to retain it's "strait line" so as long as you take your time to roll it up properly it will store nicely and reasonably flat. It will also resist the tendacy to tangle. However should you get it tangled it does become a pain since the PVC likes to "stick" to itself. Not in the litteraly sense but it does a kind of "tackey" feel to it so getting it unbound can be a challenge. Also due to the regiity of the sidewall and the thin iniside diameter, this hose seems VERY kink resistant!!! Impressive because as I said this is still quite flexible. On to the technicals... It's 100' long with a 1/4" inside diameter. At either end you have a 1/4" male NPT connection. With a little plumbers thread tape and a couple of quick disconnets, you're all set to use. The connectors also have about a four inch plastic guard that protects the hose from binding at the coupler and prolonging the life of this hose considerably! The hose itself is rated at 200 psi. Unlike my 3/8" rubber hose I didn't notice where te PVC seemed to expand any once charged to around 90psi. Once pressurized the hose is still very flexible but even less resistant to tangles and kinks. With it attached to my nailer it was light as a feather! Even when using a 18ga brad nailer I didn't even notice it was there. Freedom of movement was unparalled especially when working from ladders. I will be buying again!!! I think any DIYer or contractor will be very pleased with owning and using one of these! 5Great hose and love the color too! I had a project that I had been using a normal air line that I use in the garage... problem is that it is heavy and using an air nailer--- it was tiring after a while. I had some other smaller diameter PVC hoses...that can be read as what came with my pancake compressor and it was always stiff and ended up shelving it at some point as a backup. So I was looking at polyurethane hoses at a local store and all that they had on the shelf was 25' and after reading some reviews, I would have passed anyway. Hopped on the internet and after a short search, I decided the Coilhose Pneumatics 50' version was what I wanted and has worked great. At first it likes to stick to everything including itself--- just the way the material is, but, as a small trick that I have used before I take a handful of sawdust and coat the hose and then wipe down the hose with a dry shop towel... it takes it from tacky to awesome. With the weight difference it simply made using my nailer easier and after making it so the hose is not tacky, it would slide against things without issue.Overall light weight, didn't kink, and so far has been exactly what I expected from it. 5
