    The bulbs are great, but the removable lenses are frosted on this ...Too many of the people selling these don't understand that the lenses are what effects the amount of light put out.The bulbs are great, but the removable lenses are frosted on this unit. This cuts the range in half, defusing the light too much.They claim, and show pictures of these lighting up things 60 feet away, when in fact, they barely light up objects20 feet away. If I hadn't had the lenses off my broken one, I would have had to return these......This is just not this seller, but most all of the ones selling IR lights for security cameras on Amazon and ebay.P.S. The ones to really avoid are the multi bulb, (48) or more. A good 4 bulb one with clear magnifying lenses is much better.And, you can't tell what you will get, because the claims of their output are mostly bogus. (The Chinese don't care) 3fantastic for my Uber car to augment my night driving with my Dash Cam.finally one that works perfectly to augment my dash cam so I can monitor my passengers as an Uber driver, all the others failed. I work nights and the car windows are tinted. 5Works great with RPi NOIR Cam.We are using this with the Raspberry Pi NOIR cam for use as a baby monitor it works great. I don't have to even keep it pointed at the subject. I can bounce the light off the wall and it still illuminates the full room. The room is about 150 square feet. 5These don't work for outdoors.These don't work for outdoors. I bought 4 of them and only 1 still works. Water gets inside and ruins them. 1Great valueExcellent IR illuminator for it's size, energy, and cost. Provides a light with an angle similar to my wide angle Samsung camera, with a good effective distance out to about 70', and no significant hot spots. 5Works fine, I initially thought it was defectiveInitially there was no difference in the camera visibility when the IR Illuminator was plugged in or unplugged next to a camera I had that had a broken IR Illuminator built into it. It turns out that the IR circuitry in the camera was bad. If the circuitry is bad then buying an IR Illuminator will NOT solve the problem. I tested this buy putting the IR Illuminator next to a different camera I had that worked fine. I could see the IR Illuminator "beam" just fine when using it with a fully functional camera that had a working built in IR Illuminator. 5Great Little Flood LightsThese guys put out a good amount of IR. I am only pointing them out to about 40 feet and they light up everything quite well. 5Junk!!I bought 2 of these units awhile back, hooked both of them up and to my surprise... they only work out to about 6-8 feet.. So much for their specs saying it would work up to 100 feet... Hahahaha DON'T BUY THESE UNITS!! THEY ARE JUNK!! 1Not very brightNot even close to 100ft. More like 30ft. Ok for indoor illumination. 3Much BetterNow that summer is here, bugs will be all over IP camera lenses unless you use a separate IR light source. I've been using the old version of this to eliminate that problem as well as the glowing eyes. The only problem with the old model was the spotlight effect, too bright in the middle, too dim outside of it. The new lens spreads the light out more evenly and eliminates that problem. Works well. 5
