    Nice Cutters -- Watch Out For Rusting I previously had a a pair of Greenlee Rabbit Ear cable cutters, but I didn't like the grip on them. The Channellock cutters have a better grip, and to be 100% honest, I think their blade geometry is much better than my old Greenlee's because I've yet to re-hone my new Channelocks. Keep these lightly oiled (because they will start to rust in a humid work locker) but they are the most comfortable pair of cable cutters I've used.Update 10/2016 -- These are still outstanding cable cutters, but I am still dismayed to see how fast they accumulated rust compared previous cable cutters, so I'm deducting a star for it. 4Lasted seven days at welding class. I was really happy with the form and function of the pliers until today. I accidentally dropped the pliers and when I picked them up I noticed the pin that joins the plier halves together was broken. The tool is now unusable. Amazon says after 30 days it is MFG warranty problem. MFG replaced pliers very quickly so I bumped up my review to 2 stars. On the new pliers I see no tiny gap in the wire cutter portion so hopefully the MFG is improving quality control. 2So far so good! They cut better than the other pair I ... I stepped up from the cheap clone of the Channellock and went with this pair in the hopes that the grips would stay on. So far so good! They cut better than the other pair I have as well. Only odd thing is that for this quality of a pair of pliers, the tips are not the same length. 5The right tool for the job I spent the month of June working on and off to install a battery bank and inverter system in my travel trailer. When it came time to wire up the batteries, I went with four-ought welding cable (4/0 or 0000), which carries some massive current all day long and looks good doing it. Trouble is, the stuff isn't something you can just cut with normal pliers, or a hacksaw, or anything else I had laying around. After butchering a few pieces of my very expensive cables, I grabbed the right tool for the job. Amazon Prime to the rescue, these cutters were delivered overnight for less than gas money I would have spent to drive to the big city and buy some from a store. 5Made in USA! What a pleasure to have a set of mig pliers that are made in the United States. Replaced my Chinese pliers with these. The usual high quality materials and attention to detail that you would expect from Channellock. A joy to use, I'm glad I bought them. 5Sturdy, Comfortable in Hand Grips are a comfortable size, only one complaint is that the wire-cutter doesn't work when 0.030 Mig weld wire is seated completely into the jaws. I find that I must adjust the position of the wire away from the base of the blades to cut consistently. 4Would definitely buy again! Excellent tool! I've been making do with a generic knock off pair for a while, and hated having to reach for them. I've been upgrading my tools over the years but always had another priority over these. When it was time to fabricate a rolling stand for my ~1800 lbs cnc mill, I knew I'd be welding and decided to buy these ahead of the project. I'm so glad I did! The cutter is crisp and cuts clean with one snip, the teeth grip nozzles and tips and hold without slipping and marring, and the edges for cleaning are a sharp, even break line that clears out spatter with just a couple simple twists. I put about 5 lbs of wire into the frame and was using this pair of pliers often. They made their part of the job a pleasure. The fit in the hand is comfortable, the weighting of the tool is well balanced, the spring works but isn't obtrusive. I'm very happy with the purchase and would certainly buy them again. 5Marginally better For the money, this is better than most other 1-lever arm crimpers. 1-lever arm crimpers will never be any better than 2-lever arm ones, which will save your hands if you have 100's of crimps to make--but they cost substantially more. For small gauges, the 909CB is pretty good, but for larger, I'd say it's about the same as other brands. I was hoping Channelock would design something with more magic that gave you a lot more leverage (& also much better steel), which by the way, they have done so marvelously with some of their other tools in the recent years. 4Great quality, nice finish, comfortable handles. Produces a high quality, durable crimp. These are the best wire crimpers I have used. The comfort grip handles are very comfortable. These wire crimpers made a very nice, durable crimp. I've actually given my old wire crimpers to my friend who collects scrap metal. Yes - my old crimpers are now scrap metal. Once you've used a high quality crimper such as these you'll never reach for a lesser tool. I've been so impressed with the quality of Channellock tools that I've since acquired another 1/2 dozen or so Channellock tools.
