Customer Reviews

Am I crazy, not liking this thing? there are 505 reviews averaging 4.5 stars for this thing as of today (unless Altura has a similer wrist strap that Amazon has unfortunately grouped with this one (which doesn't just happen sometimes, it's Amazon's S.O.P.)) Anywhoooo, here's what I don't like about this thing.1. I thought it would be a quick on and off of the camera. I definitely don't want to use this all of the time and thought I'd be able to pop it on and off. Nope. You have to thread it through one side of your camera's clip things in order to make it snug to your wrist. Which takes more than a minute, which is all I'm willing to commit to using a wrist strap. It took me 3 minutes to get it on the camera. Even if it's faster to get it off, it's too much time. Why can't they make a clip built into the strap that can clip on and off of the camera clips? I mean, it would've been so easy to do that.2. I saw that one reviewer had written that he had trouble getting this thing off his hand, and though I can see that being a problem as well, I'm more afraid that it's going to pop off my wrist and my camera's gonna fall off my hand. I bought this thing because I'm getting some tendinitis or some muscle spasming in my camera forearm, and I need to be able to loosen my grip on my camera at times, just to let my arm relax. Maybe most purchasers of this thing only want it for the extra security but have no intention of letting the grip loosen. If that's the case then this reason won't pertain to you. If you as well bought this looking for some relief from constantly gripping your camera, then this is a big one. I mean, the only things keeping the camera on my hand are the snap buttons (snap fasteners?) that snap on the outside of your wrist. The entire well being of my $3000 camera I'm gonna trust to two button snaps? Not a chance. Again, they could've easily could've used clips here, but they didn't.3. I'd agree with an earlier reviewer that when you start to take it off your wrist, the plastic parts slam into your camera.I mean, it looks nice. It even feels nice. I really want to like it. But it's not a quick on and off of the camera like it should be, and with the button snaps as the only line of defense to stop my camera just falling off of my hand (if I were to not be gripping it tight). 505 other people think it's great. Or at least that's what they'll have you believe. In which case, grain of salt me and see if you like it. That's it. 2AWESOME strap! i don't write a bunch of reviews, but for this I WILL. I have bought more straps than I care to admit. I have a mirrorless with a battery grip that I wanted good protection from that would not be bulky and in the way when I move from landscape to portrait. This 100% fits the bill. Long enough to put it on the camera for landscape and still turn the camera for portrait. The stretchy arm band is comfortable and adjustable. The clip is sturdy so I don't worry about that being an issue. The fact that it came with a small attachment cord for a smaller point and shoot is a BONUS. I will put that on my P&S for when we ride the bike and wife has to take pics while moving. All in all... great product. 5Great strap, but on the other hand (literally)... This strap is well made and very comfortable. On a side note, the pictures for this -- and every other brand of strap -- shows it around the person's right wrist. Because I'm so heavily right handed, I found having it on the right interfered with changing the battery and the memory card; and detaching and attaching lenses. With it on my left wrist I can hold the camera by the lens or cradled in my left hand, freeing my right hand without having to remove the strap from my wrist. 5LOVE LOVE LOVE IT I hike with a shoulder strap connection, but, it is hard to grab and shoot. I ordered this to go along with my shoulder strap set up. When I get to where I am going, I disconnect the shoulder strap and use the Hand Strap! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! It is comfortable and easy to carry my camera AND control my dogs. I actually have BOTH connection straps attached to each side in case of right hand OR left hand carrying . My shoulder strap connects on the bottom of the camera. So, it has solved all my problems!! 5Saved our camera but still won't be using it. Bought this for our GX85 camera for our recent trip. Ended up saving our brand new camera from flying across the room on the first day so it's already earned it's price a few times over. However I won't be using it and instead decided to use the shoulder strap instead. What I liked:- very comfortable around the wrist. I have a fairly thin wrist but rather large hands and i found that even if I had this snug on my wrist to avoid slipping, i could still easily slide it on and off without having to adjust it each time.- the clip and strap worked and saved my large camera from flying out of my hand and onto the ground within couple of hours of unboxing it.- at least for our camera i was able to fit the ribbon string and our shoulder strap at the same time and the GX85 doesn't have a huge camera hook loop so this should work for others as well. What I didn't like and why i won't be using it:- it takes some force to clip and unclip it from your wrist. had a hard time doing it with one hand and always felt like i would drop the camera trying the work the clip- every time i uncliped it the camera half of the clip/band would shoot out with force and slam into the camera, usually to the lens or lcd screen- lots of hard plastic around the clip which scrapes onto your camera body/screen in your bag.- when unclipped, you have a long string hanging off your wrist which can get a bit annoying.- at least for our GX85 when shooting in portrait mode, the string kept getting in the way of the screen and had to be managed.- if you want to hand off your camera to someone else for a quick pic, you need to fiddle with the clip or slip if off your wrist. either way the other person will have long string/gribbling on the camera which is distracting. One person tried to slip it over their hand before taking the pic and almost dropped the camera.so at the end, it worked as advertised and saved our camera so it won't be going back but you should perhaps look into a hand grip vs. a wrist strap if you have a large camera. 3so much better for photographers who are constantly on the move! I love this over the included with your camera shoulder strap, it allows for run and shoot style photography / Video. meaning if you see a spot while driving, i just pull over, click the wrist strap into the buckle on the camera and i'm out and running to get that shot, knowing i wont drop it in less than 30 seconds.. For piece of mind its worth the $, but for all the other benefits i.e : cleaner looking camera setup, quick detach, very nice padded wrist strap, not getting tangled up in the over the shoulder strap, i could go on and on, TLDR; Buy this! 5Poor quality stitching The cord link broke after less than two months after purchase and 5 times usage. I believe it is poor stitching since I only attached to a light prosumer camera. Luckily both link did not break and my camera did not drop.Update Feb 1, 2017:Excellent customer services, a replacement was sent.Although defective product happens, an excellent customer care are always appreciated. 5Not a universal quick connet I purchased this wrist strap, because t looked like a better upgrade to my Op-tech system. I have a neck strap, sling strap and a very warn wrist strap. The connections looked the same, but I was disappointed to see that they were not compatible. I can not blame the vendor, as he made no such claim, and I tried to check the Answers before I purchased, but I couldn't get a good answer, so I purchased it anyway. I wound up having to purchase the cheaper (in both quality and price) Op-Tech wrist strap anyway.BTW a quick follow up is that the distributor read my review and totally refunded the purchase price. He did not need to do that as I felt that it was really my fault for not researching it properly. FYI it is a much better quality strap than the OP-Tech. 5Great for low-profile style I had previously been using a custom made neck strap that was very comfortable but just too much fabric and bulk for me. I usually ended up just wrapping it around my hand a few times which made fidgeting with my settings a little more challenging. I purchased this strap at the recommendation of a fellow photographer and I'm so happy I did.It is easy to install and comes with two types of installation optionsThe materials is very well made and the stitching is well doneThe clasps are sturdy and are even a little bit stiff so I'm not worried about them coming undone easilyI can hold the camera with the strap around my wrist or I can let the camera dangle from my wrist while I'm adjusting a client and I don't worry about my camera slippingIt's so lightweight and low profileI don't have any cons about this strap! 5This is ESSENTIAL for my picture taking ! This is ESSENTIAL for my picture taking !This is ESSENTIAL for my picture taking ! This stays on my camera at all times because I hold my camera (Nikon D7200) in my right hand all of the time ! This enables me to concentrate on getting that shot and NOT having to worry if my camera slips out of my hand. I don't like how other straps go around your neck (it makes your neck a little sore and tired), OR the others slide up from your side, OR how others are anchored to your chest ! They bounce/flop around ! When you're ready to take that shot, at a moments notice, you'd still have to reach for the grip ! This camera hand strap also enables me to reeeeach way out and get a shot that others can't get, without sacrificing the cameras safety.I bought this camera hand strap from somewhere else back in 2015, but I got 2 more from Amazon IN CASE my first one wears out. 5
