    Not nearly as expensive as other brands and fit my needs I use this desk lamp as a light above a bookshelf/hutch to light up items on display. The heavy base allows me to position the light outward to provide plenty of illumination. 5Absolutely Perfect! This lamp is the right height for my piano. It adjusts perfectly to cast light down on my music. With the recommended bulb it casts the right amount of light directly where I need it, even at night after dark. The cord runs down the back of the piano to the plug, and has a very long cord. I have had no issues at all with the lamp trying to tip, even though as you can see I tilt it way down to shine right on my music. Love it. Great price, a lot of bang for your buck! 5No kidding- this is junk I have had this lamp sitting on my desk at home for just a little over a year getting what I would call medium use; you know-turn it on, turn it off. It is a lamp what could go wrong? How many actual lamps have I had fail in my lifetime? Not talking about the bulb.The 40W bulb put off enough heat to make toast if you wanted to. OK, so I wait till it burns out then I go and buy a T-10 LED bulb to replace the other. Guess what? The bulb never burned out, the lamp just died. Because I can fix just about anything (my wife refers to me as her Swiss Army Knife) I take it to my work bench and discover that the wire is routed through swivel joints and can rub against the holes used to route the wire through the joints. I don't know if that is why the lamp died but I know a stupid design when I see one. Perfect Chinese quality and ingenuity. Gave it the heave-ho and came here to write this review because I don't like seeing junk sold to people. 1I'm brilliant! ... Oh, no, that was the desk lamp. I already have one of these Piano/Desk Lamps on a desk in my bedroom, so I knew they were more versatile than an immobile lamp design. I placed this one on a narrow shelf behind the living room couch and aimed it up at a large, framed picture hanging on the wall above and behind the couch. It's as effective as a "picture light" would be hanging down from above, the light doesn't blind me (as it's aimed at the wall and not down or across the room at me), and I can easily redirect the hooded light assembly, should I decide to use it as a reading lamp! 5Awesome lamp. Super finish and design. Awesome lamp. This is supposed to sit behind a sheet music rest on a piano. IT IS A PIANO LAMP. In order to do this you need to raise the shade to its highest point so it clears the music rest. This balances the entire lamp. It's not designed to be tilted almost at a 90 degree angle. For sure it would tip over. All the hype about tipping over is crazy. If it is used for what it was designed for, it will not tip over. This is a piano lamp and designed as such. My only complaint was with the switch knob. It is not straight and extends from the switch at a slight angle. This could be due to how it was packaged and am not sure if this is even a defect. 5Electrical shock hazard where switch meets body The lamp looks great and provides decent light, serving its purpose well, however it blew the first bulb used in it instantly (amazon replaced, great company) and now has an electrical short where the plastic switch meets the lamp housing (the neural nut holding the switch in place).Returning for refund as not eligible for replacement.If not for the shock hazard would be a 4 or 5 star rating, but I cannot give it anything but a 1 when my daughter could be injured by the product. 1Works great, you have to purchase your own lightbulb. It looks beautiful sitting on my piano and functions just as it should. Since my husband has been taking out all of the gold and bronze items in the house, I love that this matches my satin nickel color scheme that he's been putting in. It was my fault for not reading all the way through the product information before my husband purchased it. It arrived, and then I still had to go get the lightbulb to use it. 5Perfect for my needs I have a 108year old upright and needed more light. Fits perfectly for my needs. I adjusted it to shine closer to my music and it didn't tip at all. Heavy base that supports it well. 5Don't buy. I purchased this to use as a piano lamp and am very disappointed. I had the lamp for about a month when it stopped working for no apparent reason. It had just been sitting on top of my piano since we received it and one day stopped working. I would not recommend. Apparently I've missed the return deadline by 3 days, so I can't even return or replace. Just stuck with a broken lamp. 1Poor quality and no warranty I really liked this lamp when we bought it in December, but the neck broke after being picked up a total of 4 times. Unable to return, no warranty information, unable to contact the seller to ask for a replacement. Do not recommend at all. 1
