    Good As described and helps keep your hands clean while using 5Plastic Junk I am a roof inspector and bought this to use with sidewalk chalk. It doesn't have a good grip on the chalk. The chalk either slides out or pushes in, when using. I tried it once and threw it in the trash. Being it was so cheap and I got free shipping, I'm not so mad. Lesson learned. You get what you pay for. 1Broke Immediately After reading reviews from other buyers, I decided to give this chalk holder a try, but also decided that it would be a good idea to buy something else as a back-up, so I purchased a very cheap set of sidewalk chalk holders intended to be used by kids. My purpose for the purchase was marking 500 door openings on a large construction site so that visitors would be able to figure out what room they were in, so I needed something sturdy that could be used heavily. So, I get the "Heavy Duty" chalk holder and the package of cheap chalk holders, along with the chalk, on the same day. I put a piece of chalk into the "Heavy Duty" holder, and PRESTO! - it breaks immediately (this was just from putting the chalk in it, I wasn't using it yet - and by the way, I bought the chalk that is supposed to be used with this holder). Then I decide to try the cheap holders - chalk goes in, chalk fits perfect, holder doesn't break. I marked all of my openings with a bright neon green holder, and tossed this one in the trash. 1Very happy with my purchase Perfectly packaged, arrived on time and worked as expected. Very happy with my purchase. 5Poorly made and not worth the money. Thin and broke the first time it was dropped from a roof.Not worth the money. It was helpful but didn't last 2-weeks. 1This product is a cheap piece of junk. This product is the quality of a toy that you would get from a bubble gum machine. The holder will not stay in place and I had to put a rubber band around it to hold it in place and hold the chalk in the holder. If it didn't cost so much to return it by mail, I would do that. 1It seems so unnecessary. Just grab the chalk and use it with ... not sure why I bought this. It seems so unnecessary. Just grab the chalk and use it with your hand, you don't need this thing because nobody writes that way anyway, holding the chalk from the top most remote end of it! You grab it near the tip, and so this thing is pretty unnecessary not not useful. 1Useful It is very handy for the adjuster, roofer or construction folks. Easy markings without coating your pocket or hand with dust 5Junk. but there is a solution VERY poorly made. When you slide the collar up enough to hold the chalk, it breaks. I have 2 and they both did the same thing. Instead of spending $8 for one piece of garbage, get the ALEX Toys Little Hands Chubby Rainbow Jumbo Chalks where you get 4 well made holders for the same price. They look like they come out of the exact same mold, but they are made of a much tougher plastic that doesn't break the first time you use them. 1did not send the chalk holder that is pictured The chalk holder listed in the picture is NOT the chalk holder that I received. The Railroad Chalk itself is great, I will continue to buy them in bulk as I use them almost daily as a claims adjuster. The chalk holder I received is similar to the one pictured, but has "prongs" on the end that do not really hold the chalk in place, I have to wrap a rubber band around the center of the chalk holder in order to keep the chalk from sliding out. I would go out to my truck and take a photo of the chalk holder I received, however there is thunder/lightning and heavy rain right now, and I just survived Harvey. I wish they would have sent the chalk holder that is I ordered and that is pictured in the listing. 2
