    Arrived USED. nicely compact though. Arrived used (was a surprise because I'd ordered NEW). The inside box was clearly cut open and there was dirt dust and paper inside the basket and blades. But it is functioning (and seems to work okay). The design is nicely compact, and the handle to lift off the heavy top is very useful (my old shredder did not have a handle, it was awkward to lift off the top with both hands while trying to steady the basket). My disappointment with this shredder has more to do with it being used more than it's functionality. Time will tell. I will update. 3Eight months later and it's still great! Price point is great for all the things it shreds including dossiers, DVDs of pee pee videos, bribes from the Russians, you name it. I'd really like to shred the NetGear WIFI Extender with it, which was a piece of junk from Amazon that ate up my whole day with tech support. But whether you're trying to avoid federal prison by destroying incriminating treasonous documents or you're simply cleaning out your file cabinet, this shredder won't disappoint. I've had it for 8 months now, and so far no jury has been able to convict me! 5Will shred your papers and destroy your secrets with them If you looking for tough and good working paper shredder you found it.Offers high security for your important documents when you push them thru that machine.There are 4 levels of security for shredders. This shredder is on Level 3 which is high enough to destroy all evidences on your documents. You don't need level 4 security which is diamond cut. Micro cut is all you might need and that's it.Not too expensive. Not too small not too big just right size.It has power to work with envelopes from banks and credit cards at once. It struggles a little bit but it will go thru with full packed envelope.It's noisy too. You can hear on the video. But even noise is nothing to worry about unless you will you is during all day every day. Once in a while is not a problem at all.Highly recommended 4PERFECT!!! Perfect for every day mail shredding. This is not for people that have allot of shredding. This is more for personal use and not for office continuous shredding. It is small but does the work perfect. I like the way it micro shreds. I mainly bought it for shredding of personal information that I get in the mail. I would sure recommend it. Also, just a little hack for plant lovers - I like to use the shredding to fill the bottom of my plant pots so it won't require that much soil. 5A home office plus! Quiet, efficient, and effective at shredding credit cards. Everything ends up in little tiny bits. I read a lot of reviews before I tried this one for my home office, and I add my praise to the other positive reviews. I have had it about 10 months. It is far more solid than the ones the ones in the same price range at our local Office Depot/Office Max. I don't use it every day, but keep a sack where I out everything that needs to be shredded. Then about once a month I sit down and shred for about a half hour. My last one always got hot and I would have to pause after 15 minutes to let it cool down before it wanted to work again. This one handles the work smoothly and easily. I don't put more than 5 sheets in at a time though, just as a precaution. I want it to last, and I don't have to rush. 5Won't do 8 sheets, but the shreds are tiny! Minus one star to every shredder from every manufacturer for exaggerating their capacity. No way this shredder can handle 8 sheets of anything but the thinnest rice paper. I put in 6 sheets of junk mail, it started to groan. But the reverse switch worked as intended and nothing jammed.Other than that, it's a great product for the price. We've only put 50 pages through it so far, but the shreds are so tiny it makes strip shredders look silly. Take a look at the photo-tiny shreds.Happy purchaser. 4Bad product The shredder was delivered to my house on August 7th 2018 and now it no longer works on August 17th 2018. I only shredded paper in it two times before today. Now this morning I tried to one thing in the shredder would not move or power on. I even moved it around the house to change plugs and make sure it wasn't the outlet. It's just not working. Only had the product for 10 days use it 2 times and it doesn't work anymore. I knew the price was too good to be true. 1Very Good light to medium duty home office micro-cut shredder I've had this just under a month now. Bought it to replace my old straight cut machine that finally bit the dust after many years of service. I have to admit that even though I had seen the dimensions when I ordered it, I was a little shocked at how small it actually looks out of the box. No worries though since the micro cut shreds settle much more compactly and after 4 weeks of intermittent use, I'm about to empty it for the first time. Another plus is how much quieter it is compared to my old machine. It was the first thing both my wife and I noticed with the first use. I can only assume that reviewers who complained about the noise of this model have either received a defective unit, are first time shredder buyers or perhaps were expecting something like the big high capacity machines. This one is just perfect for my home office and light to medium duty use.Other observations: The grip area at the top makes this far less awkward to remove from it's waste bin than my older machine. With respect to capacity, so far I have yet to bog it down. The practical sheet capacity is about as expected; that is about 1/2 to 2/3 of the "rating" because most everything I typically have to shred is heavier than 20lb so I generally only feed 2-3 sheets at a time which slows it down just a little with 24lb or heavier stock. About the only negatives I have so far that knocked 1 star off are: due to the shape of the waste container, I worry about it being tipped over by the dog but I solved that by tucking it in between a printer stand and a small storage unit and secondly, the feed slot is just barely over 8.5 inches wide so you have to "aim" more than my old machine to feed it. This is my first experience with the Aurora brand so only time will tell, but so far I am very pleased especially given the price I paid.. 4Aurora AU820MA , 8 Sheet Schredder. Great choice. My old shredder, also an Aurora, was a strip type. Filled the basket and bags fast. This new machine is much more efficient, creating tiny pcs. It is very fast and shreds paper, credit cards and discs very well. It does make a little more noise but works harder. I am very satisfied with this machine and recommend it highly. 5Great little shredder Bought it to replace a much older Aurora shredder. I don't get the noise complaints, this one is fairly quiet, certainly less noisy than a vacuum cleaner, and easily half as loud as the unit it replaced. I love the compactness of the small p-4 chunks; lots more in the bin. Something to watch for is the CD shredding. Depending on your recycling requirements, you may want to wait until the bin is empty before doing the CDs. This unit rips the CDs into 1 inch (approx, did not measure) strips that probably need to be put in the garbage. We shall see how it holds up but so far (2 days) so good; I am downsizing at the moment so it is getting a workout. 5
