    Entry level item Works well except for the strategic positioning and securing of associated media. I don't recommend this for the serious artist, but it works good enough for my needs. I added weights to the unit since just the weight of the power cord can move it and repositioning the image on media if difficult at best. 3This one that I ordered was more or less a beginners trial run for me to see weather I liked it or not I'am a artist; and I find the Artograph Projector a most valuable tool...When I have a deadline of art work to produce to a client; I can't tell you how fast this item helps me meet these dates!!! I always heard about these projectors, but never thought I had any use for them, until I did some research on the topic>. And boy was I surprised> So much so that I entend to upgrade to the LED500 Art Projector; which is a beast!!!!! This one that I ordered was more or less a beginners trial run for me to see weather I liked it or not. In fact it has already made me more money than I could have imagine!!! I recently did a mural painting on a wall for a young lady's newborn baby's room. And im happy to say she was just crazy about it....so much so that she spread the word about my skills to some friends of hers, and now I've been commissioned to do three more!!!! In closing, I liked to say that all my orders came in the allotted time, and in excellent condition!!! The color and clarity it gives is nuts! 5x5 copy space not a problem it magnifies photos extremely well!!!!! Came with bulb broken buy new one and watch what it can do.I want artists like me on a budget to know this will make very very happy it did me. 5Did the job! I really liked the way this product worked in general. I used it to project images on walls in my son's room and in a playroom! The only negative I have is that sometimes it is hard to see the finer detail so that I had to erase or add in by hand. Otherwise, a great product! 4Works very well for artists and craftsmen This is great! I bought this product for my father (a skilled woodworker) to use to enlarge his sketches directly onto the wood to be cut. It's been a big time saver for him.I also use one of these at my workplace for various projects. Only small complaint: I wish there was an easier way to manipulate the image under the projector. Paper underneath the projector does not slide around easily so making small movements is difficult. 5The projector meets my needs, but was received with ... The projector meets my needs, but was received with the bulb shattered in a zillion tiny shards of glass all over the box, and inside the projector. I am surprised that no one noticed that the box 'jingled'. 1It doesn't work... can't see a thing ... It doesn't work...can't see a thing! 1Better for smaller projects I used this for transferring my design to 3 walls for a mural. It took 2 visuals for each wall and was really hard to line up. If it had been a more exact or intricate design, it would not have worked. But if you can cover your surface with one visual (and make sure that the surface is vertical and the projector is completely level), it works well. I'm giving it 4 stars for what it is but if you will be using it regularly, I'd recommend investing in an overhead or digital projector. 4Valuable tool for getting to details quicker This was recommended by another artist so I thought I'd try it. First. This saves so much time getting layout down for a painting so I can concentrate on the painting without worrying if my proportions are correct, things level, etc. Serious time saver from 100% hand drawn under painting. Second. Yes it means it when it says Dark Room. It really works better, images more crisp, etc when you can be in total darkness whether that's an inside hallway or room darling curtains. The darker, the better. Third: surprise: it even worked when I wanted to paint a icy trees, heavy snow night scene on a black canvas. Instead of drawing lines in black, I sketched with white colored pencil. Made getting proportions right a breeze. Highly recommended! Will probably start looking for interchangeable lenses soon... 5Projects, stays cool with energy efficient bulb I'm giving this thing 5 stars because it works as expected and is great for hobbyists and small business. I am almost finished with a painting that I started using this thing. It is amazing for drawing accurate images. Don't listen to all the reviews about this thing running hot. Mine came with an energy efficient bulb, and I am soon going to replace it with a super bright LED bulb. Yes, it is dim with old incandescent bulbs, but why even bother with them when you can have 100W brightness with a cool LED or florescent bulb? You will need to work in a dark room to use this, just like any projector. If you're looking for a good deal, this is it. These sell at art stores for $120, and if you're into making backdrops, or murals, or just painting your kids walls, this thing works great. If you aren't willing to spend a few bucks to get a really good LED bulb, this will still work, but you will need to let your eyes adjust, especially if you are drawing or working on a canvas that isn't white. I STRONGLY urge you to buy a super bright LED bulb along with this. The brighter the better, within the wattage limits on this enlarger.The largest image you can copy from is a 5 inch by 5 inch picture. It sounds tiny, but all you have to do is get a picture or image you want to enlarge, and print it out using the computer to reduce it to a 5x5" picture. Grid your work out, and do one section at a time. I just finished an 8ft by 8ft backdrop using this method, and it worked great. I received a ton of compliments on the quality.
