    Misleading product photoThis item DOES NOT come with the power cord shown on the box or in the photos. In fact, it doesn't even come in the original box. If you read the bulleted description carefully it says cord not included, but the pictures would have you believe otherwise. Save your money and time and buy from one of the big box stores that includes everything it's supposed to and doesn't try to mislead customers. 1Excellent product. Works well will with a Lutron wall ...Excellent product. Works well will with a Lutron wall switch dimmer, for an otherwise cheap set of LED strip lighting found here on Amazon. It came with a power cord attached, which I did not expect, but is great. It was easy to cut one of the cords leading to my (on/off only) led lights, strip the wires from one end, and attach to the screw-down terminals using a small screwdriver...to attach the power supply to the LED strip. Worked great the first time.I like that it has ETL/Intertek certification, which means it has undergone safety testing, unlike a lot of the other cheap Chinese equivalents. Where the wires attach, there is good clamp-down strain relief, which adds another element of safety probably required for ETL. I paid a lot more than some of the cheap dimmers, but I got a quality product and piece of mind that my house won't burn down...well worth the price. 5dimmable power supplyIf you want to dim the led's be sure to buy the `dimmable' power supply which is a little more expensive than the standard model. Also, I suggest taking the option of an attached power cord which saves the trouble of providing one and hooking it up. The extra length can be easily folded together for a neater installation. 4Doesn't work, flashes on/off constantly when raised over 75%Update: still don't know what's wrong with these, both only work from 10% to 75% then they flash on/off. Disconnected some to make sure it's not an overload problem but it made no difference. Second call to support they said they only work with LED dimmers, again contrary to marketing claims and documentation. So I got Lutron LED dimmers but it's exactly the same, they won't work over 75%. Still pissed, stuck with $150 of useless Armacost LED system (2 strips and 2 drivers).Pissed that false advertising has shot $60 worth of two 24W driver down the drain. Specs for the tape light wattages are false. Documentation says that 24W drivers are supposed to power 11.5 feet of 60 LED/m tape, but I have two drivers each running only 11 feet and they both flash at just 75% due to overload. Talked to Armacost support who said that the 24W driver will not power 11 feet despite documentation saying otherwise. Support also said that drivers should not be used at full load, which is common sense, but again documentation says specifically that drivers can be used at 100% of the rated load. So my purchase is past the return/exchange window and that's $60 worth of two drivers down the drain because the documentation and specs lies about the tape lights power rating. Otherwise between 9% and 75% the drivers and lights work well, but $60 wasted due to manufacturer's false documentation pisses me off. 1A high-quality dimmable, "universal" 120V to 12V DC LED driver power supplyThe Armacost Lighting 840600 is a high quality, dimmable power supply for 12V LED fixtures or systems.COMPATIBILITY: This power supply should be compatible with a wide range of 120V dimmers. The installation instructions state the following:"Armacost Dimming LED Drivers are compatible with both forward phase (leading edge, triac, incandescent) and reverse phase (electronic low-voltage, ELV, and trailing edge) AC dimmers ... They are also compatible with low-voltage PWM dimmers and RGB color controllers."Although virtually all dimmers will work with Armacost Dimmable LED Drivers, Armacost Lighting recommends dimmers that can be programmed or have an adjustment dial to set the low end dimming range."BUILT IN CONNECTORS: The built in connectors work well and quickly. They need to have some of the outer insulation to clamp onto, to keep the stress of any pull on the wire from going to the terminal connection itself. So don't strip too much of the inner or outer insulation.LOW MINIMUM POWER LOAD: The minimum power load is just 5 watts.VOLTAGE: Output is 12V DC.DIMENSIONS: It's somewhat large, at 7-1/16 inches long by 2-3/8 inches wide by 1-3/8 inches high.ENCLOSURES: If you want an enclosure, Armacost makes variations with enclosures for conduit connections.The only real negative is the cost, though of course having a high-performing, high quality power supply makes it a reasonable value. Lower-watt drivers are less expensive than this one.The manufacturer's website has lots more info, including specs and installation instruction.TWO WARNINGS: First, be sure to get a power supply rated with enough watts to cover your needs.Second, be careful to get a power supply with the right input voltage. Armacost makes a line of 12V dimmers and matching power supplies. This product is the universal power supply, to be used with a range of dimmers and 120V. 4It actually works with a dimmer!!Wow an LED driver / power supply that actually dims the LEDs!!!I thought there was something wrong with my LEDs or dimmer as I tried two different PLUSPOE dimmers that did not actually dim anything and also buzzed.This driver actually works, and works well. I am using the 12v/24watt one to drive 8x half moon 12v LED stair lights. I am also using a Leviton 6674 dimmer in the wall. There is no switching noise from this driver, the construction is solid and the dimming is smooth without flicker. Completely worth the higher price than non certified drivers.The only thing that was odd is that it did not come with a power cord. The lack of a power cord was not a big deal as I had one laying around, but I could see it bothering other people. I have a light switch controlling half of a receptacle in low voltage box, so I did need one. 5No flickeringI bought some cheaper drivers that I tried to connect to Armacost strip lights. The lights got extremely hot, so much I couldn't even touch them, and I could even smell smoke. I think the wattage output was too high. The lights also flickered constantly. I bought these drivers and had none of those problems. I suggest buying these drivers with Armacost strip lights if you want an easy, hassle-free strip light installation. 5Empowered!I bought this power supply to drive 12 feet of Armacost's 60-LED/meter strip lights for my new kitchen cabinets. I have the power supply powered via a Lutron Caseta dimmer. I am amazed at how well the countertops are lit up, but this power supply with the dimmer make an awesome combination. I have six lighting strips from 12 inches to 31 inches long each arranged in 4 branches running from the power supply's output connector. I've used 14 gauge in-wall-rated speaker wire to keep the voltage drop to a minimum. The power supply is mounted inside one of the cabinets and gets only slightly warm to the touch. I also like Armacost's detailed documentation packaged with the product. Online, Armacost also provides important details on voltage drop and other technical considerations. I would buy it again. 5The whole Armacost strip lighting LED system is great!I purchased and installed a complete Armacost under cabinet and above cabinet LED lighting system to replace our 20 year old incandescent system. I used 3 separate Armacost transformers, 42 feet of Armacost RibbonFlex 60 LED strip lighting tape and the Hunhun aluminum LED channel. The system, the connectors, the power supplies, the whole thing, worked flawlessly. If you done electrical work in you home and you're comfortable and pay attention to the details, this is straight forward work you can do yourself. The result is pleasingly even lighting, very well concealed above and below our kitchen cabinets. the 3000K temperature is just right for task lighting on kitchen counters. 5Works really wellI ve had this product for a while now and it seems to be doing a great job without blinking or flashing etc.The 40 W version my contractor installed was not cutting it. Everyone should go to a higher wattage then they think they need it can t hurt. 5
