Customer Reviews

Five StarsBest for beginning B&W photo developing.5Do not buyTerrible. Takes triple the exposure time and even then sometimes almost nothing shows up. Scratches if you breath on it. Worst 4x5 film I ve worked with1Decent for the priceThis is a good affordable film for a college student. I did find that it lacks contrast compared to more expensive brands and did require a longer development time in order to get a better range. Wouldn't be my first choice of film but good when you're on a budget.3Five StarsEconomical large format film. I don't see differences from other brands that are much more expensive.5Pre-wash = emerald green water. (Is this Foma brand?)Loved it! Not the most exceptional film I've used but it's the cheapest and gives excellent results. For black and white work which requires quantity I highly recommend. Doesn't mind Xtol or ID-11, grain is fine but not a T-grain. It reminds me of Tri-X 320. Contrast is average, not as high as tech pan. Scanning on a Flextight was fine, sharpness was all there.Seems to be rebranded Foma, which is curious because buying the Foma named Fomapan film is much, much more expensive. It makes you wonder. I will be keeping this in my b/w supply along with Acros 100 and Atomic X!5This film is being difficultIve been developing black and white for years now and used many different brands but recently switched to bulk to cut the cost some. The film is a little thin when developed (physically and visually) its very delecate. I wasted three rolls trying to bracket the thing. I found it to be very low contrast and is a little difficult to print under the enlarger; scans look alright tho. Doesn't quite get the blacks right but the midtones are alright...advice: if you have your heart set on this film develope it slow and +1 or +2 stop with constant agitation. Be carefull with processing and use a good drying agent. Meanwhile......im switching back to Fomapan 400.2Great!Negatives came exactly as described! Look awesome when developed. I am a photo major and love working in the darkroom, im in there a lot! These work great for me. One thing I noticed though is that there is not a 3rd piece in the box that helps protect the negatives and keep the box light tight. I noticed some Kodak boxes have this 3rd piece that goes on before the lid/top of the box goes on, but maybe its not important. I have actually switched these negatives to my Kodak negatives box so they are more protected!5I have noticed is that it scratches a little too easily. Unlike Ilford or T-Max I feel that the development time in the instructions is a little off, but he contrast is normal.4
