Customer Reviews

Pretty fantastic. I purchased two single fans and the lowest cost thermal controller for my TV stand that has doors on it, basically making it an oven due to my fairly large receiver and Xbox One X. So far, so good!First off, the items were all very nicely packaged. Practical and attractive. I usually don't care, but it was noticed. The quality seems very high. Solid items. Well manufactured. I loved the rubberized coating around the fan housing. The front cover and grille look very nice.Instalation is as easy as can be. The included stencil came in VERY handy.Swapping one fan around for one air inlet was a cinch and well explained. The two fans have plenty of length for a variety of units. I have a lot of slack to spare in my 50" wide stand. Daisy chaining them is cake.Being a simple set-up I only needed the basic thermal controller. It was easy to get going, and since I bought two fans, I used one of their included power adapters to power everything.Having adjustable fan speeds is nice. High can be kinda loud, but when gaming it's not really noticeable. I'm actually testing the internal temperatures of my stand with the fans running at different speeds, while gaming/not gaming, and off (Xbox on standby). If it ends up being interesting information, I'll update here:Works as advertised and I would absolutely recommend a purchase. If I ever get rid of this cheap stand, I'll probably just throw it away and keep this stuff for the next one.Yes, you can buy fans, switches, and all that stuff and do it yourself, but the ease and build quality of this makes it totally worth the price, in my eyes. 5Well Manufactured Quiet Fan, Comes With Mounting Template. This fan is well designed, I am using it in conjunction with the quiet USB cooling fans that I placed on top of my amplifier. I purchased these fans to cool down my amplifier, which is located inside a totally enclosed area of my entertainment center. After installing the fan at the top and on the back side of the enclosed area, I also made a 3" hole on the bottom, which is needed when you set this up. You should have an exhaust fan at the top of the area and an inlet hole near the bottom, unless this is not in a totally enclosed area. The temperature in the area before I installed the fans was 90 (see picture in my review) Now it is running at around 72 , so it definitely has reduced the temperature inside the enclosed space. I have two cooling fans on top of the amplifier, and one exhaust fan on the back side of the entertainment center, in addition to my 3" air inlet hole (see picture). These fans are extremely quiet, and they have 3 speeds, and they can be daisy chained together. Here is the best part, they can be controlled by a USB input on the back of your TV or amplifier or they can be powered by 120 V, Both are included. I use one of the USB ports on the back of my TV to power these fans. That way the only time they're on, is when I'm using the TV and the entertainment center. Andrew and customer service was great from this company. CE listed. Watch my video to see how I installed them, there is also a picture of the 3 fans installed, with the descriptions. 5AC Infinity 4" fan effortlessly vents wooden desk enclosed CPU compartment even with a hot running computer. I bought one 4" (80mm) AC Infinity fan without the controller to cool the enclosed CPU section of my desk. I have a desktop computer housed in the desk CPU enclosure that puts off a substantial amount of heat and within 1-2 hours, I measured the temperature inside the desk CPU enclosure to be around 84F. Electronic components typically don't like being run in temperatures higher than 85F and will have a reduced lifespan if they are run hotter than 85F. My desk already had a preexisting opening from under the desk surface (where my feet go) to the top of the CPU enclosure. This opening was designed to allow monitor cables to be run from the top of the desk into the CPU compartment and measured 3.9" x 6.9". I installed the fan (blowing out) at the top of the opening and closed off the remaining bottom portion with a plate. The AC Infinity fan runs off an integrated USB port located on the back of my computer and (seemingly without effort) keeps the desk CPU enclosure at almost room temperature (plus maybe 1-2 degrees).Note: I did NOT have to use the USB "turbo" converter that came with the fan. I also did not drill any new ventilation holes into the desk CPU enclosure for air intake. It would appear that the natural 1mm cracks around the closed doors on both sides of the desk CPU enclosure are sufficient for allowing room temperature air to flow into the desk CPU enclosure. The really cool thing (no pun intended :)) is that when the computer goes to sleep, it not only stops producing heat but ALSO shuts down the integrated USB port which in turn shuts off the AC Infinity fan. It is a perfect system that negates the need for the optional AC Infinity fan controller. The AC Infinity fan runs so quietly that in a dead silent room, I can't tell if the slight hum I hear is from the AC Infinity fan or the louder fan located in my computer's power supply within the cabinet. I HIGHLY recommend this fan for this application!I have also used the AC Infinity 6" (120mm) fans in my much larger home entertainment cabinets and they also perform very well and very quietly.Update: After writing this review, I tried running the fan on the low setting and the temperature inside the CPU enclosure did begin to (very slowly) creep up. Also, on the low setting, the slight hum disappears (to my ears anyway). So, the fan running on high setting does add to the hum.I'm going to watch to see if on the low fan setting the temp stops rising at some point. If not, I'll run the fan on the high setting and not worry about it. I still don't need to use the "turbo" wall USB adapter that claims a 25% increase of airflow. But, it is nice to know I have that option if I add heat producing components to my desk's CPU enclosure. 5Extremely quiet, comes with all necessary accessories and a template for cutting the wall! Reason for buying:My modem, router, NAS and a Raspberry Pi sit in a closet at my house, along with their power adapters, a UPS and a printer. This heats up the closet and I wanted to vent it to keep it a little cooler.Mounting this fan in the top of the closet to blow the heat out to the closet in the adjacent office closet seemed the best way to do this, but I needed to do this quietly and efficiently.Pros:The included template made it REALLY easy to mark and cut the hole in the dryway to fit the fan. The included screws and zip tie plus self-stick zip tie attachment makes cable routing easy too. There's a power supply included to give the fan some extra oomph, rather than powering it from the USB port of the router or Raspberry as I planned to. it turned out I had an extra outlet in the UPS I could use.The fan, plate and mesh are all very nice and high quality. No chance of this bending or failing. The fan is SILENT! The only reason I hear it is because of slight resonance in the wall. I could probably reduce that by cutting some of the foam from the box the fan shipped in to the right size and make a gasket out of it. I haven't bothered. The speed control/switch is easy to use and the USB cable is long enough to reach quite far AND it has the pigtail USB port so you can plug another fan into it. Brilliant.Cons:None that I've found yet. 5Can't beat them. Not much to say, it does the job. On high, you can hear it if your system (TV) is low at night, so i bought another one so i can have them both set to med, plus having the extra air flow at a lower speed.. I mounted mine in a hard to find now discontinued sealed rack with a nice framed glass door, one fan on each side corner at the very top in the back blowing out. Heat rises and out it goes pulling cool air from the bottom. Sound is nice and low on med. Just bought a newer Very high powdered AVR that gets even Hotter, plus the Direct TV box that also gets hot, CD player, blue ray player and Teck- tape/Cd/usb player and one 100w amp for zone 2. Temp stood between 89-91 at low volume when i had one fan and older AVR, at higher volume 94-97. New AVR runs much hotter, so the one fan needed a hand. Cranked up the volume temp went up to around 110+.. Now with both fans, and im now at around 93 on low volume, under 100 when cranked up for an hour. Very happy. 5... experience with these fans (bought 2) started out really bad, but ended really well SUMMARY My experience with these fans (bought 2) started out really bad, but ended really wellSUMMARY: the first 2 fans were noisy and one crapped out quickly. This turned out to be from a known, defective manufacturing run. The company bent over backwards to correct the problem, and quickly. Received and installed the replacement fans, and they're quietly still going strong 4 months later. This is a business that wants long-term customers (they've got me now!)DETAILS:THE BAD (my letter to AC Infinity):Very unsatisfied customer, I request a refund for 2 AC Infinity AIRPLATE S3 products and here's why:Purchased two of these in May 2016, installed them (daisy chained into Turbo Adapter) into media-computer cabinet in June. The cabinet contains a small netbox PC connected to 2TB (powered) Seagate HDD, ATT-Uverse cable box and a couple of smaller , assiciated ATT gizmo boxes. Sonos bridge and ATT router sit on top of cabinet, not in it (cabinet blocked wifi signeal when tested). One AC Infinity AIRPLATE S3 in August for some unknown reason, the other is still working but started making a loud rattling noise about a month ago. I just got around to troubleshooting these (Thanksgiving vacation) to no avail. I pulled them out of their respective cabinet mounts, inspected and dusted them, checked bolts on the frames (none loose). I reinstalled the unit that's still working after applying some padded, double-sided tape on mount frame in attempt to stop the rattling, but it's still loud: the noise is apparently within the unit itself. The dead one seems well and truly dead: doesn't respond regardless of which power source it's plugged into (TV USB, Turbo Adapter...the working unit does work no matter what I plug I into), and fiddling with the H-M-L-O switch. While this isn't a gold-plated super-high-end product, it should last more than a few months. Can you please refund my $49.98 please?THE GOOD (AC Infinity's reply to me):I am so sorry to hear that Airplate S3 is not working properly. I apologize for the inconvenience. I will get to the bottom of this right away and have it tested. I will make a note to the Quality Assurance Department and ensure this does not happen again. I have received the approval from management and have arranged for the replacement to leave our facilities by the end of the day via UPS. The UPS tracking number is .... I am sending you a pre-paid UPS Return Label attached with this email to get this product back and have it thoroughly investigated by our Quality Control department. All shipping charges during this process is absolutely free and covered on behalf of AC Infinity. The replacement that will be leaving our facility today will be sure to resolve the issues that you were stating! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address this matter. Once again, I apologize that this happened. Please let me know if you have any questions or require any additional assistance, I will be more than happy to help. Thank you and have a great day!Kind Regards,Tommy KaragiasAC Infinity Inc.www.acinfinity.comThe above letter was received promptly and was totally accurate: they did what they promised. I received the replacements within 2 days and have had no trouble with them. I highly recommend doing business with AC Infinity. The products I purchased were a good value, and their service was impeccable. The true measure of a good business lies in how they deal with adversity, and AC Infinity virtually gave a 'clinic' on how to turn around a bad customer relations situation! 5if you're looking for a short term solution this is the fan for you! Great at first, ultimately a let down. This fan worked well for about a year. After that it kept working but developed an annoying sound. After about six months of noisy operation it failed. All told I got about 18 months total use out of it so if you're looking for a short term solution this is the fan for you! If you're looking for something that will last, so am i. 1This review is for the S1 80mm Fans. Work great, but don't expect miracles. My media cabinet is an enclosed cabinet with two shelves and sliding glass front doors. Looks great, but definitely not designed to actually house electronics equipment.. well, I have my DirecTV box with Video bridge, Panamax power conditioner, Marantz AVR, PS4, Outlaw audio amplifier and Oppo Bluray player. I normally keep the doors slid open, but recently my DirecTV box had issue and needed to be replaced, and I suspect it may have been due to heat.I followed AC Infinity's calculation for airflow, and decided that 4 of these S1 fans would provide adequate airflow with two set as intakes on the bottom and two as exhaust on the top.First the pros:Very well packaged. Each fan arrived in its individual box complete with power plug, instruction book, fan template, and accessories.Even better customer service. Before I purchased the fans, I emailed customer service with some general questions. I quickly heard back from Andrew, and since them we have emailed back and forth no less than 12 times, and he has been patient, helpful, and accommodating every step of the way. Between the packaging the the customer service, it is clear AC Infinity cares about its products and its customers.Fans can be daisy chained, with up to 6 fans off of the wall plug or 4 from just USB. Fans also have individual speed controls, but if daisy chained they will all sync speed to a "master" speed controller. The fans do move a pretty good amount of air.ConsIn the high setting when running off the power plug (which increases fan speed by 25%), the fans are unbearably loud. Maybe I'm just sensitive to them, but I can't stand having them on high.Since I can't run them on high, I keep them on medium, which now means that I don't get the most effective cooling.Overall, I highly recommend these fans. They are well made and AC Infinitys customer service is top notch.**Update, I added the airplate s6 cooler to the top of my Marantz receiver, and now with that on auto mode and the S1 fans set to medium speed, everything stays cool and you can barely hear the fans at all. 4Without a Doubt Worth Every Cent! Highly Recommended! I was having a problem with my desktop PC overheating inside my computer desk, and immediately started searching for a remedy. I came across the AC Infinity Airplate S3, read the reviews and thought I'd give it a shot. I purchased two, one to use as a fresh-air intake, the other as an exhaust. Immediately upon opening you could tell these are high quality pieces, and the contents of the box contained everything necessary (short of power tools) to get this installed. Reversing fan direction is easily accomplished by removing the fan from the housing and flipping over to blow the other way...about a one to two minute task. The mounting template came in very helpful and perfectly matches the body of the fans. While you can plug the fans in-line and connect to a USB port on your computer, I opted to use the wall AC adapter which is stated to increase fan speed 25%. With the proper tools (in my case a jigsaw, cordless drill and vacuum to suck up the sawdust) installation of two fans was completed in around 30 minutes. I placed the intake low and in front of my computer fan, and the exhaust higher up for optimal heat dissipation.Within seconds of the fans running, I could tell a drastic difference in cabinet temperature, and my computer is running cooler than ever. At times, the temp inside my cabinet even seems cooler than room temperature. The fans are quiet, other than the sound of rushing air. If you are in need of a quality cooling fan, these Airplate S3's are going to be hard to beat! 5Quiet fans that move a lot of air (even at low speed) and do an excellent job of keeping my IKEA TV electronics cabinet cool I mounted two of these in the back of an IKEA TV cabinet (one on the left side, one on the right - IKEA Besta TV unit 70 inch). I put doors on the front and needed ventilation for all the electronic equipment that I had inside the cabinet. Each of these fans moves a lot of air and does an outstanding job of keeping the cabinet cool inside. I mounted the AIRPLATE S3 fan at the top with the air blowing out and put two adjacent SilverStone 120mm Fan Filter with Grill FF121 (Black)) at the bottom to act as an air intake. The fans are relatively quiet, but not completely noiseless. At low speed you can faintly hear the air noise (no hum or vibration) out to about 3-4 feet away. It's louder at the medium and high speeds, but these are not necessary for adequate ventilation. Since normal viewing distance is more that 6 feet, you essentially cannot hear any noise from the fans. I let the fans run all the time. I suppose you could always spend the extra money and buy the model AIRPLATE that has the thermostat if you only wanted the fan to run when needed. 5Outstanding cooling solution! I bought the AC INFINITY a couple months ago to install in my computer desk. I do a fair amount of gaming on my pc running on a NVIDIA 1060 gpu that produces a great deal of heat. Not only was my video card fan running on full after about an hour of play, but the desk drawer above the pc unit would get extremely hot forcing me to pull my drawer and leave it on the shelf above my monitors just to get a little more air flowing.I occasionally build pc s for friends and family and have quite a few 120mm and 80mm fans just lying about in my electronics storage bins and could have easily cut a few holes, installed, and be done. But, it would look exactly like it sounds.Enter the AC INFINITY cooling system. This was designed for people who want and expect more than just utilitarian. When you install one of these systems, not only does it do what it was designed to do, but it LOOKS like it belongs there. If this is important to you, then don't settle, this is what you want. This fan is packaged like the iPhone of fans. Foam backed cardboard protects the fan unit. It has a quality printed instruction manual which is easy to understand and informative. It includes a PLASTIC template instead of a paper one that you cut from the instruction manual. It came with a power adaptor if you choose to run it independently. Runs quiet for a fan on high and moves a good deal of air. Included hardware nuts, bolts and screws to accommodate the surface you may be attaching too.Installing this fan is straight forward and simple. If you are installing into a wooden surface, having a drill and a jigsaw or similar will make it a breeze. I squared the template with a torpedo level, taped the template to my desk, drilled four holes in each corner and used my jigsaw to cut from each hole with the template still attached. I had to make a few more passes because my cuts were not entirely straight, but you would never know it because the plate covers that all up when you fasten it down.I have since bought another one for my wife s desk and we have both been very happy with the purchase. 5
