Works with Leviton Structured Panels as well.I took a chance and bought this not knowing if it would work with the Leviton Structured Panels but it does. The hole spacing is the same so this is a nice option for the Leviton Panels as well. Works well so far. This is a native T568B (Colors on left side BLU, ORG, GRN, BRN) and has T568A alternate wiring (Colors on right side (BLU,GRN,ORG,BRN). 5Great product! Works as expectedWe got a new house and it had telephone jacks throughout. Luckily it was Cat5e wiring to each jack so I put in ethernet jacks in place of it and needed a patch panel to wire them in to. This worked perfect and was easy to wire in to. It has color coding for both A and B standards (I chose A since it can also be used for regular phones if needed) and is nice and compact and mounted great to the plywood by our electrical panel. I might get another if I end up using all 8 ports and need more. 5Easy and quick setupI bought this patch panel to clean up the area around the cable modem and the router in our new home. I moved both from the finished area of the basement to under the stairs in the storage area.It was very easy to install. The cables attach right to the front and the box lists both A and B configuration on the individual terminals. Plus it includes a larger picture on the bottom. The basic punch down tool that came with one of the keystone jacks worked fine and that was great as I did not need to purchase another tool.The panel is designed to go inside of Steren's case/box. There are four plastic pins on the sides to do so. I snapped them out to mount the panel to a "one by" I placed behind the shelf.Overall, the process was quick and easy. I had the two cables punched down and the unit setup in under five minutes. And now I have room to add the runs to the den and the living room. 5Good home patch panel, could use a more universal mountFunctions quite well for gig internet. installation was simple. However, the box that houses it was not designed for an Ethernet patch panel, and these boards are meant for a proprietary box. Would be nice if it came with some sort of mounting option for non brand boxes. 4Worked as advertised - easy home closet installThis product was exactly what I was looking for. I replaced my old 110 punch down block that was installed with the home in 1999. This block made cleaning up everything super easy. Well built. Can also take the plastic plugs out and screw it right to a wooden panel. 5No bells, no whistles, just a reliable cat5e patch panel.I used this for my home ethernet network. The previous owners had wired the ethernet jacks to an unpowered telco patch panel, and it didn't even remotely work the way they expected. I replaced the telco patch panel with this one, wired it into a cheap 8 port gigabit switch, and now I have gigabit ethernet in every room.Note that I did have to buy a decent punch down tool. I tried several alternatives I read about online, but none of them made a solid connection. I should have just bought the punch down tool first instead of spending hours trying to make silly things like screwdrivers and old credit cards work as a punch down tool.If you're in the same situation I was: adding a patch panel to a home that already has in-wall ethernet, then here's a quick shopping list for you:* This patch panel* An 8 port gigabit network switch* A punch down tool* A package of eight 1ft ethernet patch cables* (optional) An extension cord to bring power to the network switch. (I needed one of these since I didn't have a power outlet nearby to power my ethernet switch) 5Do not buy this junkDo not purchase this, you will waste your life trying to punch down the wires and get a connection on all 4 pairs. Even if you can get the wire to puch in, it will cut the copper wire and you have to start over. I have 5 of these to return, they are garbage. I have been puching cat5 since I was born and have never ever come across such low quality garbage. 1Thicker than needs to be, but works fine.I have a CAT5 distribution panel in my closet with a previous data hub like this one. Needed to expand, so I bought the STEREN data hub. It's solidly constructed, color-coded for both A and B connections, was not difficult to insert the CAT5 wires (with tool), and it works fine. It is about 1/2" thicker than my previous data hub, but that's not a problem for me. Recommended. 4Home network - worked greatHouse was wired with cat 5e when built and terminated to a phone block. Removed the phone block and installed this product in order to hard wire the house with Ethernet with great succcess so far. 5Mounting pins shatter easilyThis looks like a well made product, at least the metal parts. Where it falls short is on the durability of the mounting pins. I ordered 3 of these and they all had their mounting pins smashed or broken. Across the three of them out of 12 mounting pins I had only *two* intact while the modules where still in their unopened plastic bag. Without the mounting pins you have to scramble for an alternative mounting solution to secure the module to the enclosure - and you need some short stubby sheet metal screws that can thread and hold through the 1/4inch pre-drilled holes of the enclosure. The #14 1/2inch screws at the local hardware store are too small still, bigger screws exist only in much longer sizes, so you'll have to get creative... I did not want to use self drilling screws and drill new holes in the enclosure wall - so I returned mine and used the Morris Products 87114 8 Port Cat5e Voice/Data Module instead - the position of the mounting pins match the Steren FastHome enclosures and the product arrived with all the plastic mounting pins intact. 1
