    Surprisingly ExcellentTypically when I do the "bottom-dollar" deal at Amazon for the lowest price, highest volume item I can find, I wind up with something that is not of the quality I expect or there are inconsistencies between pieces that make it difficult for be to streamline my business practices. Not so with the Vact 7mm Slim DVD cases - you get what you expect - slim DVD cases that are of good quality and consistency and hold together well.I ordered 100 pcs of this item, and the packaging in which it came was really outstanding. First, the original manufacturer's box contained two rows of plastic DVD slim cases banded by a wide piece of soft clear plastic. Outside that box, Amazon provided their standard "air-bags" and a larger box to ensure that the DVD cases had not cracked or been damaged in transit. One strong reason for ordering this item FBA - you're going to get a box that's protected from the harsh environment of LTL and package freight. So in my case, after inspecting every single item, there was only one damaged case. Pretty impressive in my opinion - after traveling thousands of miles and being manhandled in a distribution center, my product is 99% what I expect it to be. Thank you manufacturer, thank you FBA seller, and thank you Amazon for making it happen.That said these aren't the rough and tumble sort of hard cases you want to toss around indiscriminately. Certainly they probably aren't extremely rigid or over-engineered. They're a value-engineered product that works great for packaging or repacking DVD's for cheaper shipment, compacting the oversized standard cases to fit more media on your shelves, or even for handouts for a presentation or corporate operation.All around a good product, great value, good price. Four stars - five if they had blown my mind - but four because they're exactly that which I expected when I placed the order. Thanks guys!4they are just what i knew they would be like except thinnerWhat can i say about these. There are 100 in the pack, they are black with a clear sheet on top, they are just what i knew they would be like except thinner. I am only sad that i didn't get the 14mm when the prices were lower because i prefer the larger 14mm cases. These however will save on space since i have a large collection of DVD's without cases and broken cases. I gave this a five star rating because to be honest i cannot find a flaw in them of any kind, they are exactly as described.5Not as good as I was hopingI did read the other reviews before buying these and thought, "I've bought similar cases, they'll probably be fine." Unfortunately, not quite. Most of them are fine, but I have only been through a little over half so far and I've had probably 5 of them crack on me (near the fold in the case) while I was trying to be careful not to crack them. I also feel like I have to be careful when I open them all the way to put the cover inserts in, although I haven't had any problems with that so far, they just seem fragile. I haven't had any problems with the plastic sleeves or the hubs.Other than some cracking, they seem to work fine and keep the DVDs protected, I just don't know how long they will last if they are opened frequently. The other brands of slim cases I have gotten in the past have been better quality.3Does The JobI buy these cases to store DVDs that I record for personal use. As someone who has been recording media since the 1980's, when I made the switch from VHS to DVD many years ago, one thing I struggled with was storing them in a way where the discs would not be damaged. For a time I used thin to medium-sized jewl cases primarily because I couldn't find a better deal for the price, but then I stumbled upon these cases, which i bought for about a year from a different outlet until I was told when I couldn't find them in stock anymore in any quantity that they weren't selling blank media or media accessories anymore. Amazon has solved that for me.While the cases are thin, the quality of the design keeps discs well protected. Outside of an occasional cracked or damaged case, which 99% of the time is a result of whatever goes on during the shipment process, I have never had qn issue where I have had to return a shipment of cases, which is good considering my DVD recorder gets a lot of use and I normally buy cases in 100's, which usually last me between six months to a year before I need to buy again same goes for when I buy blank discs. I highly recommend these cases. Will be buying again soon. Thanks.5Absolute Junk!Having bought similar items as this from a "big box" store, I figured that I couldn't go wrong! Boy was I wrong! The items were packaged very well... but when I took one out of the box... they just crumpled in my hands! When you try to open them up like a regular DVD case (which is what you SHOULD be able to do... its what we're paying for)... They literally just "crumpled"... I will put a picture on the site soon to show the ridiculous quality of this item. It's as if they were "dry rotted".... They fell apart as if it was a thin layer of ice on a pond! Never buy these from this site again!The only reason I gave them one star, was because there are not negative stars! Or "less than" one stars one can rate something! Not even worth the money to return them!1You definitely get what you pay for...I figured these cases were a good buy because of their cost, but I wish I'd looked around for better ones. These ones are absolute pieces of junk. I found cheap cases before that were actually effective, whereas these are more then a waste of plastic.Unlike others, I haven't really had issues with the outside or them breaking. However, you need to be EXTREMELY careful when handling or opening them with a DVD inside because, like others have mentioned, the inside snap that's SUPPOSED to hold the DVD in place doesn't work. Otherwise upon opening them then you end up dropping the DVD because it is loose. When just handling them, the DVD will get scratched by that very part that is supposed to hold it in place because, guaranteed, it WILL be moving around loose inside. If precaution aren't taken you end up with a scratched or broken DVD.I will not be buying this brand ever again. Will probably avoid the seller as well. They shipped fast but I don't like shopping from someone who is willing to endorse such a crappy product by continuing to send it out.1CHEAP, LOUSY and THEY SMELL! Spend a few dollars more for a better product!As has been stated here...."You get what you pay for". No truer words were said than about this product. When I first got the box and opened it up, it smelled so terrible that I could not go near it. The smell was almost toxic. I have had these for a few months and they still stink! I was afraid to put any discs in the case and give it to a customer, because of the smell. The quality is awful. I have thrown away at least 25 DVD cases (Out of the 100 I purchased) for a variety of problems. The biggest being that the cases just crack and break, many came out of the shipping box that way. Another major flaw is the plastic that holds the case insert is so flimsy that it tears off of the box. I would never, ever buy these again. I've learned my lesson and will pay more in the future to get a better product.1Excellent price, great case.I don't understand all the complaints. Surely you do not reasonably expect to pay a cheap price for a case made of gold or titanium?? That's completely unfair!To begin with, they're sturdy and mine arrived in perfect condition. I've had them a year now (my original order was May 2013). They have a plastic outer pocket so you can put covers on them. The only thing is not to expect a full size DVD cover to fit. It won't because the spine is smaller.These are so much better than the standard clear plastic cases. They have better protection and aren't as flimsy or breakable.Finally, 100 goes a very long way. My plan was to replace all our DVDs with these cases because we're overflowing with DVDs and we don't have the space to store them all.If you want top quality, then go spend more money on others. If you want a good value for your money, then get these.5Great for the moneyI purchased 300 of these cases to use for promotional videos for a non-profit. Of the 300 I had about 6-10 cases that cracked or were otherwise defective. Considering how much less these cost than competing products I was quite pleased with what I recieved.Keep in mind that in my case I was purchasing these to make short movies that would be watched perhaps a couple of times before being discarded, and also these were given away on behalf of a non-profit. So what worked for me might not work for you. If you want something that will hold up over years, or something for a product that you will be selling for a high amount, you probably should buy some more durable cases.But if your primary goal is to get a large number of decent cases for the lowest price possible, look no further.5FunctionalOut of a hundred cases, I only found one problem, which appears to be a manufacturing defect, not transport damage: the corner of the clear overlay on one case is folded up and not attached to the case. Also there are remnants attached to it. It's still functional, but I guess there's no such thing as "QC" in Chinese plants. I'm using these just for storage and organization purposes, so I wasn't looking for anything fancy. As mentioned by others, both plastics (the black case and clear overlay) are thinner than average. I also purchased the 25 pack standard case and they both have some kind of funky odor coming from the black plastic. But these will be in my media cabinet, not on my pillow, so I don't really care. So overall, does it's function at the cheapest price.4
