Customer Reviews

Now, maybe I won t buy any more flashlight (for me, anyway). Flashlights with one battery are best. My theory is that battery connections in a flashlight will drop the voltage low enough that it will not illuminate. I can rap it on something to get it working, but that sometimes fails, and then I put it down, turned on, but looking like it is off and the batteries slowly go dead. Flashlights with only one battery fail to illuminate less often.I like that these flashlights can be off, on bright, on dim or flickering. The zoom lens is nice, too.I have bought rechargeable, slow discharge batteries for these flashlights, so I can leave them installed, and ready for use, with no worry about killing them with dead battery juice. 5Bright flashlight, but for high usage it s a challenge I do inspections about 120 times a day where a flashlight provides me a quick and accurate assessment at what s going on.For the value it s good. 6pcs for under $20.00 and it runs on AA battery. The first month the flashlight works as it should: high, low, and strobe settings.By month two the flashlight will automatically switch between the three modes making it annoying. Now bear in mind I know I m using it a bit more than what it calls for and at its price point. But for a EDC flashlight and for emergencies it s a bright little flashlight. However, for daily and high volume usage...it doesn t stand up to make it a 5-Star review. But for the occasional use and price point. I m satisfied it being a 4 star product.Buy in confidence. And yes...I m still working on the first one out of six from the package. 4Not a bad deal. Had them for a couple of weeks ... Surprisingly high quality for the price. I use a single Eneloop AA battery and for a single-battery pocket-size flashlight they are plenty bright in an overall wash, and focus to a tight square beam. A "soft touch" on the switch changes modes from bright to flashing bright, to approximately half power. The pack of 6 means you have one for the car, the bedside, the desk, workshop, etc. Not a bad deal. Had them for a couple of weeks and so far so good. I'll update if they go squirrelly at some point in the near future. 5Pocketman vs Mikafen I compared these to the similar Mikafen flashlights, and what I found was intersting. While the Mikafen looks heaviier built, and is about .6oz heavier, the beam cannot be focused as sharply as the Pocketman, and the 14500 batteries I tested lasted 15 longer than the Mikafen(45min vs 30 min). Also, the sliding lens focus seemed more solid on the Pocketman, where some of the Mikafen was too loose. So, while the Mikafen looked better initially, the Pocketman performed better, and seemed to be more secure in important places. The Mikafen's have a ton more reviews, but I do not think they are actually better, and the Pocketman are usually a cheaper price. 4Surprisingly Awesome -- Foliage green looks great! ***USE THE 14500 BATTERY - MAKES BIG DIFFERENCE! These are great little flashlights! I also have bought the Mikafen brand. These are not quite as bright, but they are really good. I'm guessing 240 lumens, not really 300.But, here's the key: USE THE 14500 Li-ION battery! These LED flashlights don't run at full brightness on a AA-cell. They really need the higher voltage of the 14500. Trust me! I finally sunk the money into a bunch of OLight and EBL 14500 batteries and it has made all my mini-flashlights (Mikafen and Poketman) run much brighter and, honestly, longer. On the AA-batteries, they start to dim pretty quickly, so I was constantly replacing the batteries. However, running them on the 14500, they stay at full brightness for a very long time. And when they finally do start to dim, you recharge the 14500 for like 1 cent worth of electricity and you're back in bizness.A Surprisingly Awesome Flashlight --The foliage green looks great! But USE THE 14500 BATTERY - MAKES BIG DIFFERENCE! 5Pff.. meh. No wonder these are so affordable. They aren't half as thick as the single one I bought a few years back. these also don't have half the amount of o-rings my original no name one did. End cap on this is unreliable. Sometimes you click it and it goes straight to strobe. Others, it's constant on. I pushed the button the same way each time. It just does what it wants. The end cap on my own original was superb.I've attached photos. The flashlight on the right in each image is my old quality built good one. That light had been with me though every cruddy work situation with heavy use. I don't trust these here. 2Little. Blue. Bright. Bright blue light. A bit too blue Got a set of these for the family after I had gotten a very similar light from another manufacturer (identical case, power, etc, all but color). However, this light throws a beam that is significantly further into the blue end of the spectrum. So much so that I went back to the original light and got another set to trade out so my family all had the UltraFire version. Not a "return" level defect -- they throw a nice, bright, tight, focusable beam. Just a bit in the "headlight you'd see on a lowered Honda Civic with the giant wing and ground-effect UV lighting" range. They'll make fine backup lights or for the GoBag.Oh, and a note for ANY of this style of light. The bezel that holds the actual lens has a tendency to loosen very easily. Since the likelihood is high you'll never need to get into the space between the LED and the lens, just put a dab of threadlocker on it and it'll be good to go. 3For just a little more $ you get a better item. These lights are similar to many others that you might find on Amazon, but they are a bit lower quality than ones I have purchased before (and I have purchased many). My main gripe is that the front bezel has some very sharp edges. I buy these mostly to give away; I have plenty for myself; but with this brand I will not give them to anyone until I file the front edges so no one will be cut. Other than that they are a lighter metal than others I have and they have the old-school switch that often switches modes when turned off and then back on later. Spend the extra $0.40/per and get a better unit. 3COOL LOOK, BUT NOT VERY BRIGHT Torches arrived the other day along with my new 4 pack of 14500 batteries. The physical torches look really cool with the different colors as advertised, but the beams just don't cut it....for me. I tried all 5. Even with fully charged 14500's, just not very bright like my old little Cree's (same style) as you would expect from a 7w torch that can handle 3.7 volt battery. These "Pocketman" torches put out somewhat of a blue-ish beam vs. a nice bright white light. May be fine for home use, but I use my torches for bike riding when it's dark outside. Lastly, I have always noticed with torches that supposedly can put out 200+ lumens, a 3.7 volt battery will produce a brighter beam than a 1.5 volt (standard AA). Not the case with these lights. You get the same "not very bright" beam with either battery. 2Best Quality for the price, Awesome 6 pack!!! Great little flashlights! For $3 a piece you cannot beat it! The clips on the flashlights are sturdy and I'm very impressed by the brightness. They take 1 AA battery which is perfect for me as I have a 12 pack of AA and AAA rechargeable batteries from Amazon. I pack one in each backpack, in the car, and around the house and we are set just in case of an emergency power outage.I couldn't be happier with these flashlights and would recommend them to my friends and family. 5
