This speaker is now almost useless as there is no way to secure red wire ... One of the speakers arrived with the red push button and spring that accepts and holds the speaker wire detached / broken laying loose in the bag.This speaker is now almost useless as there is no way to secure red wire to the speaker.Starting to see why these were so inexspensive - other speaker works great! NOW WHAT?? 1GREAT SPEAKERS FOR THE PRICE! OK... $20 speakers... I really thought I'd be returning them, but I bought them because of the reviews. There not JBLs but they do sound great on our boat... Plenty of bass tone to hold up and they sound tight and crisp. I would buy them again... I just installed them so I don't know how they will do over time... but for the price you cannot go wrong. 5It a pyle To begin for what there worth its not all that bad. They hold up against water fine. I took them apart to see what was inside. The box said a 1" dome tweeter and mid range or something like that. Nothing more than a cheap woofer and 2 peizo elements. The box also mentioned having a capacitor crossover which is false. But I assume there talking the peizos since they ARE a capacitor.But anyway, they sound just fine. Not hard on bass, which is understandable. But they sound nice enough where I can stand them for extended periods. 3Excellent sound for the size. Mounting is a bit weird These were used to replace some Bose speakers that were sounding terrible after 6 years outside on the deck. The sound is really good and the base is better than I expected.The only downside is the mounting is strange. You cannot side mount it easily since the bracket is loose (speaker swivels on mounting even when tight). It is only for hanging from above (and even then is loose and will not hold its position against wind). I ended up adding my own locking washer to get it to hold. 4Good Cant beat the price put them in pull barn and the are very clear. Easy to hang. Nice brackets. Came with plenty of cable to run a nice distance without have to purchase any extra. 5More inflated specs from Pyle Amazon has three versions of this same 3-way Pyle speaker pair available and all at different prices. The silver one is the cheapest. For less than $20 you get two speakers, plastic mounting brackets and installation hardware.They sound and look a lot like the small plastic speakers that come with a Home theater in a box.Pyle claims a freq. response of 70-18000 Hz. No way do they go that low, maybe down to 100 Hz, but not even close to 70.Pyle's description says their speakers have a "24-Oz magnet structure". Hogwash! The entire speaker in its enclosure weighs 19 ounces, so the magnet would have to weigh less than 19 Oz.Take the "waterproof" description with a grain of salt. The bass vent is just an open hole that allows water to go in and then get trapped inside the speaker box. Plus the woofer from the product pics looks nothing like the one that's actually on the speaker!So I give Pyle one star for their deceptive advertising. But the speakers for less than 20 bucks are a 3 star product with decent sound at low to medium volume.At this price point there's not a lot of competition. Just be aware that when you're comparing specs, Pyle consistently exaggerates! 3My surround speakers. I am using the speakers as replacement speakers for and old Paramax P-510 5.1 Channel Home Theater System given to me by my brother in law.The Paramax has a working 10 inch sub-woofer but was missing the speakers.These speakers are a perfect match for the Paramax. I am super happy,My movies and music are booming! I know they are marine speakers but i would recommend them for surround applications. 5Really weather proof Very good sound I don't write too many reviews, but these speakers deserve a 5 star rating. They have a nice sound and better yet they are truly weather proof. I took them to my house construction project in Centeral America and set them up on the construction site to provide some music while we were working. I put them in a window on a partially constucted wall of the house. I forgot to stow them on a Thursday of a three day weekend. It rained hard and almost continuously the three days. Monday when we came in they were still playing and there was no change in the sound quality. I actually poured a glass of water out of each of them while they were still playing. That was a month ago and they are still working just like new. They are a great value, sound great and more than live up to their "weather proof" description. 5Great speakers for the price My dash speakers in my old Jeep YJ were tinny sounding and I couldn"t hear them with the top off. Jeeps are loud in general but without the top on even worse. I needed something loud and weatherproof, and these were so inexpensive I gave them a try. Now I can hear my tunes easily. They're loud and my music sounds great. I just bolted them under the dash as shown, not too concerned about looks on my old beater. Originally they were silver, but I gave them a quick couple of coats of flat black and they don't look so bad. 5Good speakers for the price. For a cheap pair of speakers these come with everything you need to mount and get plugged into a stereo.I have mine mounted on the walls of an enclosed car hauler trailer for playing music while loading/unloading or working around the trailer. They put out a decent sound for their size.I would recommend these to anyone who wants a cheap set of speakers for places like a garage, patio, deck or in my case a trailer. 5
