Customer Reviews

I don't know how I lived without one I'm a cosplayer who has up until now used regular dust masks when sanding and filling projects. I honestly regret not getting a proper respirator until now. The difference is night and day, particularly with anything that gives off fumes. My first test run was using it while filling a 3d print with bondo putty which has a horrible smell and gives off really bad fumes that have given me headaches previously. I could not smell the bondo putty at all and had no headache after 2 hours of work. The only downsides for me were some slight discomfort on my face by the end and the fact that only the particulate filter is replaceable. When I wear this one out I will probably get a truly reusable respirator but for now this is a great mask that fits my needs. 4Vital safety gear I used these respirators when painting my car, and they worked very well even with the harsh VOC's. It fit my face well without any leaks, and was comfortable enough to wear for hours at a time. It is disposable so it doesn't last forever (I think 20 hours is recommended use time), but the resealable bag allows you to make them last for several projects 5excellent, keeps fumes out, very handy for small to large spray paint jobs This is a great product. I would almost say, don't spray paint anything medium to large without it because it definitely keeps the fumes out of your lungs. I have used this product twice so far for small and large spray painting projects. I spray painted some decorative balls and I also spray painted a huge 9 drawer dresser. It's kind of dangerous to spray paint without a mask.. even in a well ventilated area.. or outside.. I tried doing that once and learned my lesson - I was coughing for days because some of the spray paint particles got into my lungs.. hello cancer! So I read some reviews on Amazon and ended up purchasing this mask. It made a Huge difference. I couldn't smell any paint thru it and was able to breath perfectly and the filter areas really didn't block my view. It was also super easy to put together.. you just put the filter things in place and clamp on the plastic over part like a tupperware lid.. voila ready to use! I strongly recommend that people purchase either this mask or something like it before partaking in any spray painting. The elastic parts that go over the head are adjustable and it was really pretty comfortable. I had it on for about 15 mins for one project.. and for over an hour with the other project and it made me feel safer and healthier. Afterwards it says to store it back in the plastic bag it came in so you can keep it clean for the next use. 5Perfect for the DYI painter or plastidipper I used these masks for three DYI plastidip projects, in a confined limited ventilated garage, where I had to step out after each coat I spray, while spraying the mask did not obstruct my ability to spot or move around the car, it stayed on relatively comfortable during the whole project, which usually takes about 5 hours doing it lazy man style, they did hold out all the nasty smell from the chemicals in the paint, and did stay reusable for quite some time, I did store them in a sealed plastic bag and they stayed in perfect working conditions, they are adjustable and fit perfectly for an average size head, I really liked this mask for its price. 5Great for few time use Had it on for 3-4 hours and it was very comfortable with my small head. It comes in an airtight package and the pads are also air tight. Was working with methyl chloride and I barely smelled anything for the whole time I was working with it. It comes with a plastic resealable baggy so you can keep it for longer but the maximum time you should be using one set of pads is still 40 hours. 5Great product; easy to use and very efficient! This thing is absolutely incredible! After years of trying to get by with those cheapy round dust masks that have the little metal piece over the nose you have to bend to make it fit (which never really works), because anything more seemed too pricey, I finally broke down and bought this, with some fairly serious spray varnishing to do in my makeshift paint booth. I ordered the medium size, because I have a relatively thin face, and it fits perfectly. It was hard to believe I was actually accomplishing anything despite all the spraying going on, because of the total lack of fumes or vapors experienced and the complete ease with which I could continue breathing throughout the entirety of the sessions. It actually breathes easier than the cheapy dust masks, even though it is keeping more from being inhaled. The instructions include quite a bit geared more toward an industrial, supervisory application than home use, although steps to assure safe and applicable personal use at home are clearly laid out. Adjusting the straps to fit was a breeze, and it stayed comfortably snug throughout the time involved in each use.Overall, a very nice product. 5How did I work without this?!?!?! I got this so that I could spray varnish my artwork. I should have got this years ago for any number of other reasons that I am now using it, including going through my parents' basement and my storage unit, all the while combatting dust and who knows what else. Love how easy it is to adjust and to secure in place. 5DISPOSABLE Respirator This is a disposable mask - a fact that wasn't mentioned in the advertisement. It's found in the tiny print on the product bag.You can replace the white particulate pads, but the solvent filter canisters are NOT REMOVABLE, so when the main paint/solvent cartridges are used up you throw away the mask. For a little more money you can get one that is reusable, and can take multiple filter cartridge styles.Visit the 3M site and carefully compare their respirators, their functions, and their uses before you buy. Write down the EXACT model number - there are often multiple similar (but different) models that differ by a single letter or number. Their product line is top notch, but their selection, filter packages, and similar models are extremely confusing. 1Great mask; couldn t smell anything I used this mask while painting on a DIY bed-liner kit for my truck. The compound is oil based and thick. So you can imagine the smell of put off. I m sure I would be flying with the kites without this mask. I have a large head and this fit fine.I also used this with Acetone and while sanding. It has no issue filtering out the smell and particles. I wore it for about 4 hours without getting uncomfortable. I was really surprised at its comfort. I have a beard and it still made a decent seal. The package comes with the mask, 2 disposable filters and the corresponding filter holders . It also contain the ridged filters. 5The price was good. I recommend it I have used this model for many years and replace every so often for safety reasons. The price was good. I recommend it. The charcoal filters prevent solvent vapors from being inhaled. If you do smell them it means the mask is not adjusted properly or the cartridges need to be replaced. Here's a tip - I always put my cartridges in double zip lock bags to seal them from continuing to absorb stuff when I'm not using them. This GREATLY increases their life. You don't need to seal the mask, just the cartridges. 5
