and we knew she liked having both optionsWe read a few negative reviews about the quality of this flashlight, but we decided to buy it as a gift for our 5 year old daughter. She previously had a lantern/flashlight, and we knew she liked having both options. She was thrilled when she discovered this was a 3-in-1! While I wouldn't take this mountain climbing, we are pleased with the quality. It is a good option especially for our daughter. So much so that I anticipate purchasing ones for each of our sons... since flashlights are such a popular toy around here!5Certainly bright!I like it, it throws a lot of light and a lot of different ways, will have plenty of uses. Have a lot of power outages during winter storms and night time can get pretty boring when you can't see to do anything. You could easily read a book with the side panel, perfect in fact for that. You can down light the table for meals and it has a good handle for carrying when you are walking. The only thing I would say that's negative is that it feels just a little too lightweight. We'll see how it does when I screw up and drop it but just because it feels a little light to me doesn't mean its a bad flashlight. So, I give it a strong 4 stars and perhaps I should give it 5. Love the pink color, the flashlight thieves in the family (guys!) aren't likely to "borrow" this one.4I love this flashlight.I love this flashlight! I use it all the time when I get up during the night and don't want to wake others. It's very bright. I love that I can place it face down and turn the circular light part on. That feature gives off the perfect amount of light to do little tasks hands free, ( you know like filling the dogs water dish, re-filling bottles or even doing quick sleeping baby diaper changes).Since flashlights always seem to disappear in my house, I bought the pink one so my husband wouldn't "adopt" it. Unfortunately that didn't work since I catch him using it all the time anyway.I definitely recommend this flashlight and in fact I'll be buying another one to give my sister. ****Updated to add pictures.5Handy Lantern/FlashlightI purchased this mainly to use during our frequent power outages. It is lightweight, takes 3 AA batteries, and the lights are nice and bright. The other night I stepped on my dog in the dark hallway, because my aging eyes did not see her. I don't want that to happen again, so I will be using this light instead of making my way in the dark after the house lights are turned off for the night. I'm not sure how durable this light is and judging from appearances, it may not survive if it were dropped. It is made of plastic with no rubber shock absorbers to soften a fall. The pink color is unique.4Use only in case of non-emergency I bought this in preparation for hurricane Irma. After the power went out, this was a lifesaver. The different settings were great and it was very illuminating. We got to use it for about an hour before things went south.In the shuffle of last minute hurricane prep, the light was knocked off of the coffee table and onto the carpet, leaving the hurricane preppers in total darkness. Hoping to find that the power was simply shut off, I was sorely disappointed to discover there was absolutely no getting the light to work again. I tried for a good 25 minutes before chocking it up to a lost cause.So then, the hurricane preppers were left with some candles and flashlights to get us by for the next few days.Needless to say, we were really bummed out. 1Great flashlight for young childrenMy little girls (1 & 3) love this flashlight! They carry it around the house, play pretend with it, and sometimes my 3 year old even sleeps with it next to her. It's three functions keep them interested and are very useful in the event of a power outage.5Very bright!Very bright! I bought this for my 6 year old. After a lot of our town went without power for a few days she wanted a flashlight in case we lost power. I bought it just because it looked cute but for the price didn't expect much. However I was pleasantly surprised at how bright this was even blinded me for a minute when I turned it on. It has 3 wonderful settings to adjust for your needs. All 3 setting are very bright. Easy to use and easy to instal batteries. Light weight so great for a child. It uses AA batteries so its not heavy like most bigger flashlights.5Cheap light thin plasticJust received flashlight yesterday opened it and not only is it light weight it feels like the cheapest flashlight I ve ever bought. The quality feels like it was purchased at a dollar store. One drop and the whole thing I m sure would fall apart. It s nice to options for the light, but I don t plan on using it for anything more than just a little light in a tent. You couldn t use it in the pitch black not bright enough to go walking in the dark. You get what you pay for things but I have found some really nice things on amazon way cheaper than others and are great quality not this item.3Great little light Great little light. Perfect for our RV and camping. Love the different ways it can be used and the nice bright white light. The only possible improvement is to have a place for it to be clipped and hung from the top of the tent. Awesome light tho. 5Cute and worth the money.I live in Alaska where power is knocked out easily. I needed something bright but lightweight. Turns out it s VERY lightweight. I think if I drop it, it could easily crack. With that said, I only paid $4.76 for it as an add-on. Well worth it! I keep it on my nightstand. It does not come with batteries. It takes 3 AA s. I gave it 4 stars because of how lightweight the plastic is.4Don't buy!Don't buy. This flashlight is a piece of junk. The battery door doesn't stay on. Barely a little bump and out come the batteries. My wife dropped the first one we had and a spring came out from the battery compartment that we couldn't find so it doesn't work. They did replace it, and we didnt have to send the first one back, but still the same problem with the battery door. I wouldn't reccomend this flashlight.1All plastic and not worth itGot this for a 4 year old since she kept taking my flashlight. The battery cover would not stay closed with rechargeable batteries in it. It's all plastic and seems very flimsy. It's still working with cover taped on, but she has a really hard time moving the ON switch to the correct position. OFF is in the middle of the 3 way selection and can be difficult to get just right. I would consider this for camping, only if it was backyard camping.2Great for kids I bought this for my son to use for nighttime bathroom trips. He's 5 and this has helped him not be scared to get out of bed to use the bathroom. It is light weight and bright. I really like that there are 3 settings to choose from.The only negative I see so far is that the battery door does not shut as securely as I would like, and it is very easily opened so I would not recommend for a toddler but my 5 year old knows not to open that part. 4
