    Trim Ring works well and is a good priceI was wondering what to do about the fact that the LED fixtures we bought to replace our very old incandescent can lighting did not cover a couple of holes the original installers made way too large for the newer light's diameter. My husband suggested we could "make our own " mask to put around them to cover up the gap. That seemed too hard to do , so I looked on Amazon and lo and behold, someone had already thought of that! As a couple other have mentioned, you get the color you get which probably will not match the trim of your new fixture, but I promise, if installed neatly and symmetrically, they will look fine, you will never notice. Easily solved this problem.5White Plastic Trim Ring for 8" Inch Recessed Can Down LightI was replacing some can lights with 6" LED lights and some of the holes were cut a little big, but these babies made everything look excellent! Not sure why adhesion was one of the ratings - I gave it 1 because there isn't anything like that, they're just held in place by the spring clips of the light...5It looks good plus its economicalI recently moved into a house that was built in 1977. Throughout the house there are light cans that measured in excess of the 6" and I could not find any LED retro lights wide enough to fill the opening. The White Plastic Trim Ring for 8" inch opening solved this problem. It looks good plus its economical.5Works well to cover holes around your can lightsI didn't know it, but I was replacing a 7 inch can light that I thought was a 6. I could not change the new lights I was putting up so I bought this ring. It is low profile and looks good with the new lights. This was a much easier option than getting the sheet rock guy back out to make the hole smaller.5These were a perfect solution for what I neededI came across some open box LED downlights on clearance at a big box store. This led me to deciding to replace some old brass halogen down lights in our hearth room. The problem was as I remove the old casings and attempted to install the new LED downlights, I realized that the clearance lights I bought fit a traditional 5"/6" inch opening. The opening that I had was 7 inches. And it was not a very clean-cut at that. I needed a quick solution so that I didn't have to utilize different LED lights at three times the cost of what I had paid for the ones I had. That's when I came across the goof rings. These were a perfect solution for what I needed. Fast, inexpensive, and good looking. By themselves they feel a little cheap and thin but once you get them up they look great!5A great fix for small issues When we replaced a recessed lamp with a Panasonic vent fan in our restroom, the placement of the stud required some creative cutting of the sheet rock to accommodate it. This cut resulted in a hole that was just a little too large to be covered by the new fans round baffle. This trim ring under the baffle made it look clean and covered the wider hole. It's a quick and elegant fix that no one will ever pay attention. 5These were an excellent save! Lifesaver! Couldn't find these is a local home or hardware store and the contractor on our sun porch had cut the recessed light opening too large and irregular. My options was to have them redo the ceiling and add weeks onto a job that they had milked for 3 months or these! These were an excellent save! 5These were great! Just what I neededThese were great! Just what I needed! I replaced my outdoor floodlights with one-piece LED units, which I love by the way, so much brighter than my former regular bulbs. But...because the LED units are one-piece (instead of a bulb with a separate ring around them, the have to fit straight up into the can receptacle. But the holes cut in the soffit were off-center from the cans on three of seven lights. I used tin snips to make those holes larger so that the LED units would fit. When the units were put into place, there were gaps around those three. I didn't know about these "goof" covers before and thought about stuffing rags up in there so at least wasps couldn't get in to build nests. I went looking for a permanent solution and found these. They arrived today, I had them installed in half an hour, and they are exactly what I needed!5Def will cover up 7inch openings...Totally what I need to update my 30 plus 6.5-7 inch 1980 s recessed lights! I had been looking for another fix to replace these cam lights, and the retrofit bulbs did not have the space needed to cover up the larger opening. Because these are larger, I was able to put them in first, to cover up the spot, and it blends perfectly and both updated and closed the large hole, I had from the older can lights, that left an opening with the bulb, which I was losing a ton of energy too. Thank you! Great fix for those who don t wish to spend money on replacing a ton of cans, which is not a sexxxy spend!5Fits ultra slim Torchstar recessed lightsPurchased Torchstar 6inch recessed lights for my home remodel but found that the current opening was to big, not allowing my lights to stay outside of the hole. These rings were a Godsend they allowed me to fit my ultra slim lights and look great with the trim around them.5Inexpensive Way To Convert Old 8" Can Lights To 6" LED LightsThese goof rings saved me a boat load of money when converting some older 8" can lights with LED retro kits. The cheapest 8" LED can conversion lights ran between $40-$50 each and some monkeying around to get them installed. A 5 pack of these rings cost a few dollars and a 2 pack of 6" LED retro fit kits were about $15. So for less than the price of one 8" LED retro light I was able to convert 4 old style 8" cans into 6" LED lights, and the whole process took about 15 minutes...AWESOME!!!5Quality Item I am happy with the product as they did exactly what they are designed to do (cover openings greater than the circumference of the recessed light), however I gave it four stars because the flat construction makes a tight seal against a finished ceiling nearly impossible. 4Beats fixing drywallUsed these to cover up some beat up drywall beyond the edge of the LED light trim. Worked nicely and now I don't have to fix drywall problems. The color is a tad off. It has almost a bluish hue to it that doesn't match the LED lights I have. Close enough though, and it isn't like anyone will be staring up at it. Glad I got the "extra wide" rings, as I needed the slightly wider diameter.5
