Easy installThis is s replacement for s transformer that failed after 5 years. Easy plug and play replacement5Lifespan = less than 1 yearI ordered this last may, and it's already quit working (only 8 months). It seems like a capacitor has gone bad, because it gives a bolt of electricity about every second, but nothing to power a couple small LED strips. Disappointed I paid 15 bucks just to throw it in the garbage. I don't reccomend.1Didn t fit the light strip I purchased.Didn t realize the lights I ordered didn t come with a power supply. When I tried to order the power supply, apparently I selected the wrong one and it didn t fit. I ended up returning both items. : (I m sure it works nicely with the correct item.5actually supplies rated power without getting hot, minimal power-on delayI've started believing you have to over-spec power supplies for twice their LED loads to keep them from running hot. Not this one! I ran it for over an hour with a 7.5A load and it got warm but not hot. Plus the power-on delay is under 1 second (not 4 seconds like some losers I sent back). I'm sold! Buying more.NOTE: Another reviewer pointed out how much heat you can get from those standard 12V barrel connectors... and I agree that if you're pulling more than about 5A you should cut off this connector and solder the connections. I've measured in the range of 0.1 ohms per connector junction, which will cost you almost a volt at rated power. If you want full brightness, you don't want 11V to your light strip.5Died after six months.Started off ok. Nice package, worked fine. Purchased in Jan 2018 and used with a portable dehumidifer in a boat cabin drawing 12V 5A which is run about 2hrs/day on a timer. Exactly 6 months later (July 2018), power supply died. Green LED flashes, output oscillates between 5V and 0V. No current. I know these are inexpensive, but I would expect a couple of good years of service before becoming e-waste. I decliend the cash since i think this may be an important aspect for some considering a purchase.1Works greatI needed a replacement power supply for a Drobo external NAS box that pulls 7 amps. This has worked great so far and was inexpensive to boot.5Good power brick, but be cautious...Seems to work great powering some under the cabinet LED lighting. However, be very cautious of the adapter that comes with it to connect to your LEDs. It is not good for higher current loads. Running close to the rate 6A through this thing might lead to bad problems for you.I had this powering two approximately 16 foot LED RGBWW strips, each controlled by a wireless LED ballast. One for under the cabinets and one on top to give accent colors. When i had both strips on with a lot of color, the adapter became very hot. Enough that I might have been able to get a burn if I had pulled the adapter off the cord and grabbed the metal with my fingers. I could feel the heat traveling up the cord of the power supply several inches and the rubber was softening. Thinking that maybe I miscalculated the current my setup would draw, I purchased a second of these power supplies. Now each are powering a single strip. But even with halving the load, both adapters get quite warm when I have RGB & WW running. The power supply seems like it is perfectly capable of providing all of the power needed for both strips but that hot adapter is not good at all. Excessive heat + electricity = smoke, fire, fuss, bother, and a very bad day.I'm still debating it but I might cut the ends off of the power supply's cord and solder them directly to the leads going to the LED ballasts. I think that I would trust a good soldered joint that I created myself rather than those adapters.4Good price and is working wellThis is working well. I've overloaded it repeatedly and it gracefully goes down, then comes back up for more. I wish the power cord fit better though -- it's so easy to knock out by mistake and only seems to go about halfway in.4
