Bright light that also dims to about 20%! Great replacement fixtures. Very easy to install. Very bright light. I tested 5 different products and liked this the best. I choose 2700K which is a slightly warmer light. Still not as warm as an incandescent bulb. I wish it dimmed to a more yellow glow, but that is the problem with LED lights. Nevertheless, I thought this exact model was the best in this class of product. I changed out my entire home. Takes about 5 minutes per fixture to change out. In some cases I was changing out old housings that had yellowed. This fixture provides a very clean look. It has been 2 months and every unit is still working fine! 5Look good, work well, and are visually compatible with existing Cree LED can lights I replaced the ugly bug-eye incan floodlights with these. Price was right and having directional light was necessary for wall-washing lights and stair can lights. If I had to do the design, I would have made the rotating housing a half-sphere, which would have been more elegant when the light is angled. Nonetheless, these work well and look very compatible with the Cree LED can lights that are nearby. 5Exactly what I needed! I spent a lot of time looking for replacement lights for my angled cathedral ceiling. A lot of LEDs had an odd tint to it, even those advertised as being 2700K in color. I was a bit nervous about the 750 lumens as I had 6 lights in total using 120w halogen lights, but these turned out to be perfect. Another reviewer posted that the light color is a lot more yellow, they would be correct. I was nervous it would look like fog lights on a car, but they're not quite yellow itself, but more natural looking - more halogen looking than most LEDs. I have them connected to a Lutron occupancy/vacancy dimmer switch with additional multi-way switches and they work together flawlessly. 5You will like these. If you have ever installed the cheapie plastic retrofits you will be thrilled with these. All metal, great quality, and you won't need eye protection because the springs won't put your eye out or fly away never to be found again. These are the Maxxima warm white 750 lumens and were installed at about 16 feet from the floor in a vaulted ceiling and are plenty bright so I am using a dimmer. The reason I bought the rotatable retrofits is to face the light down to the floor. I recently installed retrofits that were not rotatable and they were too bright and distracting if pointing at a 45 degree angle in the vaulted ceiling, even when dimmed. 5Very easy to install. 4000K light color is perfect... I've always wondered why stores sell either 2700K lights (too yellow) or 5000K lights (too white). The 4000K neutral white provided by Maxxima is PERFECT in my opinion. It gives a natural look that does not make everything look antiseptic like under flourescent lights and does not make everything look too yellow as if we are still lighting our houses with torches.Also, the installation was super easy. it took literally 5 minutes and everything came together perfectly. The rotational adjustment for the gimbal light is not the smoothest but I don't need to adjust it often. Once I figured out where I want the light to be rotated, I don't plan on adjusting it further.The tilt adjustment is awesome. It seems to provide more tilt than all the other gimbals I've seen online and in stores. This one goes to about 45 degrees whereas the other brands can get to about 30 degrees. This makes the Maxxima more flexible in lighting up a wall of art and display figures in my office.Best thing is, these happened to also be among the cheapest sold on Amazon. Great deal and great product! 5Too heavy for springs This unit is made from a heavier metal than most of the other retrofits I have. It s also a 2 direction light so I had to strategically place these. I really hate these spring attachments because in this case, they aren t strong enough to support the weight of the light. I d even caulked this one, taped with painters tape to set and came home to find it hanging. I m not sure what I need to do to keep it in the can, but will need something heat safe, because despite being led, these generate a good deal of heat. I m not certain why that is. 3Shower application worked! I bought this to go above my shower in a slanted ceiling. I wanted a bit brighter light that was more direct so the tilting bulb was a good fit for my application. The unit installed easily and fit very weak, it took about a minute to install. I just put it in so no feedback on reliability yet. Seems like a great value and perfect for a slanted ceiling. 4Nice lights once you get them to sit flat against the ceiling. Bought these to replace two swivel can lights we have on an angled ceiling pointing to a fireplace. The gimbal mechanism is easy to adjust and stays in place well after it's pointed. The one downside is these didn't fit flush to the ceiling without a fair amount of coaxing and playing with the springs. Think because the edge is so wide (to accommodate both 5 and 6 in cans) that they struggle to sit flat. I like the uniform look of the led lighting and these should last for a while. 4Good Features. Ghosts on dimmer I purchased this because of the gimbal feature. I installed with a Leviton DSL06-1LZ dimmer which has settings for CFL and LED. The light gives off a 'ghosting' glow when off. I thought that my differ might be defective, so I switched the Maxxima light out with a LVWIT LED retrofit that I run on another dimmer that is also a Leviton DSL06-1LZ. The LVWIT operates fine and shuts off when the dimmer is flipped to the on position. I was looking forward to this light and it's unfortunate that it will need to be returned. As for the install, goes in flawlessly as most retrofit LED lights do. The swivel and rotate feature is wonderful. The light looked great when on but I need a light that can turn off when switched off by a dimmer. 2Fit perfectly and look great! This can light retrofit was really easy to install. By "install", I mean if you can screw in a lightbulb, you can definitely replace your old can lighting. We did had to remove the sleeve for old lighting, because the new casing didn't fit flush against the ceiling. Once that was out, it fit perfectly and looks so much better than what we had up there. I would highly recommend buying this fixture. It rotates perfectly and the light is such a nice crisp color. They are very bright. So, if you're looking for something that's a little more subtle I would suggest putting a dimming switch on it. My photo shows the before on the left and the after replacement on the right. 5
