Customer Reviews

Best way to keep all your movies but allows you to down size. My husband and I are persuing a tiny house and our biggest concern was our movies, tv shows, and anime. I bought 6 100 packs and still had to purchase 2 more 100 packs. The first image is of two dvd shelves that ran our of room. 1 shelf was dedicated to movies and the other one was dedicated to tv shows and anime. We couldn't get rid of all our box sets or collector edition movies but even with the few that we did keep we condensed all our dvds into 1 of our dvd shelves (last picture). Left door is for anime, middle is for movies and right door is for tv shows.2nd picture is of all the dvd cases that were donated to a videogame store. For our box sets we ended up using two or three sleeves and then taped them together creating a binding of sorts. It did become hard knowing where our movies were so I got these alphabetical markers to help us out (got those on ebay because I wanted the ones the stuck out on the side vs the top).Great purchase and I'm not looking back. 5Organizer's dream; Fits at least 6 dvds I was looking for a way to cut down on the space the DVDs take up and have them not look so ugly. After some research and reading reviews, I gave these a try.I LOVE them.I'm going to go a bit more in depth as I didn't fully understand them until I got them (see pictures for reference to explanations).1. You get 100 what I will call "pouches" (the clear part) with 100 dvd/cd "sleeves" (the white part). This is what makes this an awesome product.-Your dvds/cds are protected-You are able to "bundle" multiple sleeves together, if you so desire. For reference, the Chuck Season 2 dvd set is a set of 6. I took the sleeves out of 2 other pouches and put them in the same pouch with a 3rd. I also was able to include the info book inside the dvd case.2. These are just the right size for each dvd size. I took a picture of each different type of Dvd case. Blu-ray (Avengers), plastic regular size dvd case (Cool Runnings), and the cheap, old school cardboard cover case (Ocean's 11). Each fit beautifully.3. To help/give ideas, I wanted to have a way to label each dvd with some related dvd art. For some, I was able to simply include the single sheet or booklet that comes on the inside front flap of the dvd. For others, I took out the paper cover under the plastic (if you open the case all the way) and used a paper cutter to simply cut them right at the first fold seam. For a handful, I used scissors to cut off the cardboard cover. It's been a fantastic way to organize these dvds.4. I have not had any issues with tearing and I used all of mine so far (even have ordered a 2nd set). I wouldn't recommend "throwing" the dvds in the sleeves, but if you're buying these in order to protect your dvds, I would imagine you aren't going to handle them roughly. A helpful tip, if you want to tuck the flap at the top inside the pouch, fold and give it a good crease first. Helps ease it inside a little better. Cardboard covers (see #3 above) are more difficult to tuck into as they don t bend like the paper covers so I recommend trimming their length top, bottom, or both before tucking.Love what these do for our dvd library (and our console games)! 5Great space saver It was very hard for me to decide to finally transition my movie collection over to these sleeves, but my wife finally convinced me. I'm so glad she did. The space savings it allows for is worth every penny. I do wish the sleeves with a bit more rigid, for protection purposes, but I've learned to live with it. If you read enough of these reviews, I'm sure you'll see a common theme of some of sleeves tearing at the seams. That does happen and it sucks. However, I generally find that happening when I'm inserting the cover from one of the old-school carboard snapcase DVDs (I cut the cover off with an X-acto). It's a snug fit to be sure, but that's not the fault of the sleeve.I've gone through about 500 already and I'd say I ended up with a failure rate of less than 5%. Some of the sleeves that did rip at the seam only ripped a small amount and were still totally usable. 5I have shelves again! Reduced a solid 3 meters of shelving space used to a single photo box and a few special editions. Had one split lightly along the seam when transfering and not advisable for heavy use disks but bought two packs and at a .5% failure rate that is better than I expected for the product. Easily fixed though. A must for minimizing a collection.Pic: The sleeves are the same height as DVD cases and can slide into left over compilation cases once they are switched out. There are 10 sleeves with almost all double filled and only take up the space of two disks of space in a box that held five cases. A bonus I'm able to separate some collections using these cases as theme boxes, reducing wear from handling and stressing.Notes:You WILL need to bend on the spine of the insert cover art if you insert the entire case sleeve. Can accommodate cases that use cardboard cover/box. (Varies greatly by distributor.)Room for misc flyers or art items included with dvds.A great tool to compile collections and series into a shadow of their previous footprint. As most cover art has the name on the bottom people who want clear organization or identification may want to pick up a marker and 100 label pack. especially if they insert two different movies and have art on both sides. 5Great for reducing size of dvd collection Excellent Product to reduce the footprint size of our DVD/Blu Ray collections. We had two huge shelves to hold our DVD/Blu Ray collections and moved to a location that didn't have the space for those two shelves. We began researching and this seemed like the best option for us.Pros: Definitely decreased the size of our collection by a lot. See attached photos for example. In one of the photos, there are 51 Blu Ray Cases next to 51 Clear CPP Movie Plastic Sleeves. Blu Ray cases are smaller than DVD cases so you can imagine the difference between 51 DVD cases and 51 of the sleeves.Pros: While shipping isn't pertinent to the product, but more for the seller - it's still important to many. We ordered the 500 & the individual 100 pack a few months apart and each time they came in several packs of 50. They also arrived much quicker than the estimated shipping date.Cons: some do rip during the process. (you can get replacements for just the sleeves without the disc holders if you need, but I used the extra disc holder into one plastic sleeve in some cases where I had an 3 or 4 disc movie and didn't want to use 2 plastic sleeves for 1 DVD case. We could have also used tape to fix the sleeve. I didn't knock off 1 star for this because I think it would probably happen no matter the type of sleeve.Something to think about: What you're going to put them in? We had to throw away our shelves because they were also in poor condition. We didn't want to purchase a new shelf just for movies so we decided to re-purpose something we already had, but needed some kind of container to put the sleeves in to tidy it up a bit. There are several options, but most of them are expensive. If saving money is your key, then you may not want to spend $24 per container to hold the sleeves. Although if you have a small collection, that's fine - However we needed at least 9 containers so that wasn't a financially feasible option. We went to Michaels and picked up their on sale photo/memory box. The sleeves fit into the box without the lid. We left a little give so we could flip through the movies and see what's in there. We bought 12 boxes for $24. We could easily fit 50 to 75 sleeves in one box (at least one box has 81, but didn't count all of the boxes). We could slip the top on top of the dvds and they are completely covered so you can't tell what is in the box. It may not be meant for the sleeves, but it works for our home.Keep in mind for television sets you'll need several sleeves for one television set especially if there are more than 4 discs (we did cheat on a few and put 4 discs in the 2 disc slot even though we purchased 500 at first - then we needed more for our television set collection & blu rays).Another thing to think about is you do have to fold and sometimes cut down your covers for the movies so for those it definitely takes time & mess especially if you have a lot of the cardboard covers. Once you get a rhythm going, it goes much faster. 5im trying to declutter and was amazed by how much space DVD's take after i saw ... im trying to declutter and was amazed by how much space DVD's take after i saw pictures of this product on other peoples reviews.(and also because i re-did my space and had nowhere to really store them)i was searching for pockets that gave me the space to add the cover. it didn't really matter to me if it had 1 or 2 slots but after reading the reviews, i thought this was the best bet.all because of the cover.well, i received these yesterday and spent about 2 hours packing all my movies.i love these things!the first thing i did was put all my movies in ABC order (just a's with a's and b's with b's) and then i started stuffing them.i started backwards but once i got to the D's, i was on my last 10 pockets and i didnt really want to buy anymore so i went back and instead of doing just one movie in each one, i did two.so one sleeve has 2 different movies and because the sleeves are clear, you can see both of the movie covers and the dvd's are safely hidden in between. because im not picky about that, it doesnt bug me and i think its (for me) a better way to stuff them.when i placed them in the box where i will be keeping them, it works out better because they all fit evenly vs the bottom half being more packed than the top half resulting in a weird stuffing situation.i was able to free up a lot more so i won't have to buy any more any time soon but if i need too, i will be purchasing these again.so keep that in mind, if you dont mind 2 in 1 this is an even better bet.after that was all done, i placed them in a photography box that i bought at michaels.they fit nicely all in one box (i didnt count how many but i will go back, count and update later since i will be taking inventory) but i might buy another box that will fit them better.only because the lid really only stays on top of it but doesn't really secure.other than that, i love these.but please keep in mind how you handle these. i had a few that tore from the side but that was from me just being over it.if they rip, i still have more to replace but i also have a lot of washi tape that i dont mind using to seal 5These are perfect for storing my movies These are perfect for storing my movies. We have been using a binder system but I was getting frustrated because so many kids movies do not have pictures on the discs so when my toddlers/preschoolers would flip through the movies they didn't know what most of them were. I purchased one pack to see about the quality and I was pleasantly surprised. They are just flimsy plastic sleeves, but the piece that holds the discs has a fabric backing. I did accidentally split a couple as I was loading in the covers, but not badly - maybe 1/4 inch. Frankly, at this price point I am content to have extras lying around for if they ever completely fall apart. I was able to fit probably 90 movies into an IKEA Kassett box - I would say that 85 would probably be a good number to keep in there to be able to store easily. We will be sorting our movies into general genres and have a box for each genre. We have ordered 3 more packs to move the rest of our movies over. 5Great space saver! These are great little sleeves, we've been sooo happy to cut down the space needed for all our movies. It reduced our storage area by 75%. The sleeve does have 2 parts, an envelope that you put the cover in and then a separate sleeve with slots for 2 discs. You have to fold the cover art down the middle of the spine for it to fit.We have a few movies that came with a cardboard sleeve (around the hard case) that we've cut down to put in the sleeve. If we put too much in or don't trim it down enough the sleeve does tear pretty easily, just something to remember. I don't think these would last long if you had little ones in and out of them.If you have a set that has more than 2 discs you can fit 2 of the disc holders in one sleeve. We haven't had any with more than 4 discs so I don't know the max it'd hold. My guess is 4, it was a fairly tight fit on those. 5From 6 book shelves to 3 shoe boxes! With 4 kids, our DVDs collection had grown until it took an entire bookcase. We had condensed them to the bulky case holders, but then the kids couldn't ever find the one they wanted because there was no artwork or easy organization. I was at a loss until I read about a system like this one on Pintrest. I decided on these sleeves and started with 100. I quickly came back and ordered more. Our DVDs fit in these with their covers. I used a few shoes boxes and organized the alphabetically, putting stickers on the corner to make filing easier. Within a few hours, Our frustrating collection became super accessible and took up a fraction of the previous space. I love it!The pros: almost everything! Easy to use, slim, expand to hold another sleeve if necessary (for 3 discs I used a cd sleeve and just added it to the pouch.)The cons: out of the 200 sleeves, 4 of them ripped slightly at the seam when DVDs were inserted. I easily fixed the problems with a small piece of clear tape. 5If you're looking to size down your collection and get rid of the bulky DVD cases, get these. I have over 900 DVDs/Blu-Rays that fill up three bookcases and then some. I've never liked the idea of putting them in binders but as I have a puppy who sometimes likes to get ahold of the plastic cases and destroy them and the movie inside ends up with bite marks (I'm now down something like 8 movies), I'm ready to get my collection out of her mouth and into a nicer assortment. Again, I don't like the idea of putting them in binders so I was looking for something I could do to get rid of the cases but keep the artwork and I found these.I bought the 25 pack of one brand and the 50 pack of this brand to test out. The 25 pack brand had complaints about "Scratching the discs" which, whatever, probably don't be so rough with the discs. I definitely liked those better, because they are made of a higher quality than these, but with that comes a higher price and with the number of movies I had, the cheaper price wins.Sure, the actual sleeve to put the artwork in is pretty sensitive and can easily rip at the seams, of the 350 I've used, I only completely broke one that made it unusable and I would say I've slightly torn maybe 10 to 15 at most though they were still completely usable. This is a pretty low ratio and most of the ones that I ripped a little were because they were the ones I cut the cardboard cover off the cardboard case. I put both the cover and back in them and I put two cardboard covers/backs (so 4 pieces of cardboard - I don't know is it cardboard, you know what I'm talking about!) and two Discs and barely ripped the seam. Just be gentle. It's not that difficult.I've purchased 3 of these 100 packs, plus the 50 pack I previously ordered and the 25 pack of another brand (so 375) and I've put a total of 398 movies in the sleeves so far. I just ordered 100 more to finish packing up one of my bookcases of dvds. Currently, I'm storing the movies that are in the sleeves in some of those fabric DVD Storage cases. Eventually, I would like to find some nice baskets or something to put them in, but that will all come in time.In conclusion: This is a great way to get rid of the bulky DVD cases you have. Personally, I'm keeping most of my fancy DVDs (collectors sets and the like) as is and transitioning most everything else to sleeves. For a lot of movies, this isn't a cheap transition and I am doing it over time to control the costs (I've moved about 400 movies and spent about $150 and I still have 500 more movies to go plus something to store them in). These aren't high-quality sleeves, they will easily tear if you aren't careful and that is the only reason they get 4 stars rather than 5. There are more expensive higher quality sleeves but for the price and quantity, I'm okay with the lesser quality because I know how to be careful and not cause much damage. If you're looking to size down your collection and get rid of the bulky DVD cases, get these. Now to figure out where I can recycle all these DVD Cases! 4
