    Makes measuring fun! (If that's possible.)Very simple design and really easy to use. It really beats trying to use a conventional tape measure because it basically allows you to take your measurements one-handed. That allows you to use your other hand, if needed, to keep it level for those more curvy areas.The tape can be pulled out to a full 80" for use as a traditional tape measure with the first inch marked (Picture 1, L to R).The opposite side is used for outside measurements which starts near the 2" mark (Picture 2).This 2" difference is used to show that the two inches are made up by the device itself (Picture 3).And I have provided a demonstration of the measuring tape by showing off my 19" calves (Picture 4). Pushed the button the retrieve the tape and it ripped the stopper and ate all the tape up... I can t get it opened to get the tape out to even try to fix it... I m so disappointed! It works well. Solo, I easily was able to gather all my key body measurements to within 1/16-inch accuracy.Some reviewers have complained about or misunderstood the measurements on the 'other side' of the tape. It's actually a non-issue and the feature can be ignored as desired. The markings on the other side of the tape are a useful option for any measurement that is better gathered without the handle as part of the measurement. The handle has a mild curve that works well for body parts but would not work well for, let's say, a 90-degree corner on a box. For this reason, on the tape's interior, the markings start at "0". By contrast, on the tape's primary side, the markings are offset for the length of the handle. The secondary interior measurements are marked at exactly 1 inch intervals, despite what some others have said. For example, the primary's side's 10-inch mark is exactly at the other side's 7-inch mark. The primary side's 15-inch mark is exactly at the other side's 12-inch mark, and so on.This device could be improved by a mechanism, such as a push button, to lock the tape in place while you remove it to take a reading. It would have global appeal if it also had metric measurements. I took a star off for these things.4I'll have to live with it but I would not be making this purchase again nor recommend to anyone I likedOverall, it does what it's supposed to but has some flaws I'm not so keen on. The tape does extend, wrap around, and has a slot to lock the tape in for easier measurement readings . My biggest issue I just discovered it that it has a faulty retract button for the tape; it simply works when it wants to often with your help. For a low price, I'll have to live with it but I would not be making this purchase again nor recommend to anyone I liked.3tossed itIt expands by clicks about 1.5 inches long. For example; when you measure around something that is between clicks, the tape will reel in when you push the button. Then if you lift the tape loop off the item, the tape will reel in to the next lowest click circumference. 'hard to describe. In other words: the tape will always reel in to a click circumference if you don't stop it. If you were measuring your head, and you lift the tape up off your head, it will usually contract.1Awesome Body Tape MeasureI purchased this body tape measure to help out when I take weekly body photos and measurements. I want to truly see exactly how my body used to look and size up compared to how much better I look and measure up after working out and getting in better shape. This Perfect Body Tape Measure - 80" is exactly what every person needs. It is so simple to use while being very easy to understand. I am very glad to have made this purchase.5Five StarsToo Accurate, still says I'm fat.5Decent but lacking...It works but you have to hold the end of the tape that goes into the main body of the item while trying to adjust the tape, otherwise it pops right out. If someone else used the tape on you, no problem but if you so it alone, and accidentally stop blocking the slot where the end goes in, it will pop right out. It is especially irritating when trying to use it on arms since you can only use one hand to hold the tape measuring unit. They could have either made the slot tighter so the end of the tape doesn't keep popping out, or they could have put a lock.3Repeatability is Not so good.There is not enough spring tension. I count on the spring tension to get a consistent amount of tightening of the tape around my waist to get repeatable measurements. A combination of too much friction in the tape and internal mechanism combined with weak spring tension means the tape will often not fully retract automatically - especially as humidity goes up and introduces a stickiness of the tape against the skin.. In 8 trials on different days spanning 6 weeks I measured myself 5 times. In these groups of 5 measurements I got an average range in the numbers of 7/16" and a maximum of 12/16" on an approx 33.5" waist. It is still better than fumbling with a simple manual tape measure, but does not work quite as well as my old Myotape retractable. I also bought a new Myotape which does not work as smoothly as the old version but is better than this "Perfect" unit due to more spring tension.2
