    Not as DescribedThe computer was described as: "This Certified Refurbished product is tested and certified to look and work like new. The refurbishing process includes functionality testing, basic cleaning, inspection, and repackaging."The computer arrived with major scratches on the case. It did not "look" new. The front vents were still covered with dust. Not only is that really gross, but I would think that would fall under "basic cleaning".I am not sure how they can label this product "certified refurbished."1pc went slow first week now really fastThe pc went really slow at first .. I had problems with the windows key .. but then a week later i somehow got to it while looking for it and found a way to enter it while already logged in. It worked much better after. Even the usb 3.0 seemed to have problems at first, now it works fine. This pc is really fast, i would buy again if needed. The speed on this pc is great.5It's exactly as described.Good computer. It's just what I was looking for. Decent cpu, plenty of ram, and more storage (hard drive space) than I need.Minor damage to the front bezel and clips holding it on, and the door latch didn't work so I had to pry it open to check the inside. But over all it meets my needs (it's going in a closet, anyway).I did have to buy an $8 display port/hdmi adapter, though. Great processing at great value.5Buy With ConfidenceThese systems are the best kept secret around. I now have replaced the laptops with these (2 of them) and I just couldn't be more satisfied. This one runs amazingly well and is blazing fast. I got very tired of needing to be able to add a capability and running into a brick wall with a jam-packed, not an inch of spare-room laptop. They remind me of land-locked seaports.One thing to bear in mind is these SFF cases will not hold full size cards - low profile is needed. It is so simple to add a card, I can teach a five year old to do it. Just life the handle on the top (or side) and everything is accessible.The refurbishing process is simply excellent. There is nothing I can find that has been overlooked. At the price, there is nothing that can touch this system. I highly recommend them - buy with confidence.5Very disappointedI ordered this product hoping it would be a better substitute for my old laptop. I was wrong; boy was I WRONG. I looked fine on the outside but when I ran it it only ran at 3g ram instead of the advertised 16g ram. The search engine is very slow along with any gaming apps. It was rendered useless when we tried to fix it . Very disappointed.1love refurbsgreat computer for the money, only thing would make it better would be a Solid state hard drive, the current one is vociferous.5A decent machine but poor graphics; case doesn't take standard height cards.The description is i5-3570 @ 3.4GHz but windows 10 reports that mine is an i5-3470 @ 3.2GHz; the difference in speed is only about 6% and my vendor (ITSupplyGuy) offered me a very fair partial refund when I explained it to them. Graphics are poor (max resolution is 1280x800) and if you plan to install a spare graphics card like I did then make sure you have a low profile PCI card and/or a low profile bracket. I added an SSD drive: there's a spare SATA power plug in the right place for an empty bay under the CD ROM and there are a spare SATA and eSATA (one each) socket on the motherboard but you'll need your own SATA cable. Fans are a tiny bit noisier than I'd like and the case was a bit more dinged and scratched than I'd like - but I wouldn't pay any extra to have it look any prettier. I installed Ubuntu, a new video card and the SSD and it runs really very nicely. All in all - between the 16GB ram, 1TB HD and a decent CPU - you get a lot of bang for your buck.5Computer was completely corroded insideThe machine worked for about a week, then it started giving startup errors. It worked on and off for about a month or so, then the system would not boot up. Finally got around to taking it to a repair shop (it was strictly going to be used by my kids for internet access) and the repair shop said the board is unrepairable. He asked if we kept the machine in a high humidity environment, to that i said no as it was always stored inside our house. So basically, i was sold a machine that had completely corroded on the inside. Disappointing to say the least.1Great Value for a Well-Done RefurbishmentThere are only two things I did not care for in this "renewed computer" package.(1) The brand of keyboard that was sent...I had problems with the left shift key, right from the beginning. It gets stuck under the frame of the keyboard. That is just a fluke, I'm sure, and not a result of anything shoddy that the refurbishing company did.(2) The computer is one of the noisiest ones I've heard in quite some time. It's the hard drive (a 2TB Hitachi). It doesn't do anything weird or have any problems accessing anything, and all checks are fine. It just chatters more loudly than any drives I've had in probably 20 years. It may simply be that the case is VERY bare...no sound-absorbing material whatsoever. and no rubber feet. Whether or not the computer is sitting as a tower, or laid flat, the noise is still the same. It's not that bad...it just gets on my nerves occasionally.The case design is obviously an HP problem, which would not be the refurbisher's fault. If the hard drive is, indeed, louder than usual, it makes me wonder about the quality of that particular drive. I've never run an Hitachi hard drive before, so am not familiar with their generalized noise factor.At any rate...the system works well, and everything was perfectly in order when the machine arrived, two days ahead of schedule.This particular machine came from SJ Computers LLChttps://www.amazon.com/sp?_encoding=UTF8&asin=&isAmazonFulfilled=0&isCBA=&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&orderID=112-6823792-8363402&seller=A2L5GKX31VOMVD&tab=&vasStoreID=In October, I bought a renewed Dell Optiplex from the same company, that is also great. When I bought mine, I wanted an identical one, but there wasn't one available like it, at that time.I did try to get a similar one from one of the other dealers, but it disappeared after it was marked "shipped," and was never found!!! Amazon refunded me for that one as soon as that was discovered, and I bought the HP I am reviewing here.All in all, I have been VERY pleased with my two purchases through this particular refurbishing company.5
