I don't know if it was the cable (150ft) or the camera but its a little fussy but not horrible it work great for the price. i would buy these again and i would recommend these to anyone looking to replace/add to their security system.Update 10-02-16Still working great 4Spend a little more to have a US based customer service! I purchased 2 of these systems within a week of each other . The product was among the least expensive and being such you can only hope it serves the intended purpose. It did that. However, after 4 months, The later purchase had a camera fail. Although Zosi has a "customer service" I could find no US contact phone number that worked. The phone number provided by Amazon was not in english..So emails back and forth to China proceeded. They agreed to send a replacement camera. Before that replacement arrived, the first system had a camera fail in the same way. I emailed the proof af puchase and screen shots. They again agreed to send a replacement.I recieved the 1st replacement but so far they will not send a second. I have had to buy a replacement (NOT from Zosi). The warrantee situation that Zosi claims to have has severe limitations. A 3rd camera is starting to act up. In the long run it would likely be cheaper to spend more money on a system with a US english speaking customer service, than to replace all 16 cameras at my own expense. UPDATE; In time Zosi did "get it" and sent the second camera. I recieved it a week after replacing it with a different brand that cost me, but it is obviously better quality. 3picture seemed good, but within hours the cameras view seemed to ... Installed it no problem, picture seemed good, but within hours the cameras view seemed to yellow and within 36 hours it was dead. So the only thing I really got from this camera is a waste of 2 hours of my time. The time to drive and install it, and drive back to remove it and replace it with another. 1Very Impressed I have had name brand security cameras for years, two of which finally said they'd had enough and drowned themselves. Small cracks developed in the camera case itself where it joins with the mounting base allowing water to do the rest.Now I've only been running this camera for a couple of days but so far I'm impressed enough to get on here and write a review. Our waterfront home presents a challenge for security cameras even during the day due to dramatically different amounts of sunlight. All six of my cameras covering the water side of the property have difficulty when the area they are covering is divided between complete shade and bright sunlight. My name brand cameras completely flare out the bright portion of the picture, you wouldn't see an elephant walk past! Not this little guy and the picture I included tells the story. Please note that nothing was done to this picture besides cropping it to get the manufacturers name out of it. With my other cameras the sunlit portion of this picture would have flared out so badly you would have had a hard time even seeing the windows let alone the furniture. And if you look closely in the corner by the sliding glass door you'll see the motion detecting LED flood lights. They are very bright and would really cause problems for my old camera. When those LEDs came on at night that camera's picture would flare out so badly that I couldn't tell you if my Golden Retriever was at the sliding door. I tested this several times last night and this Zosi camera was great. When the LED floods came on the Zosi gave me a great, no flares picture. Forget the dog, now I'll be able to check the recording and finally find out which cat keeps leaving dead little presents in front of that door for me.This camera is mounted on top of a deck railing, completely exposed to the eliminates. It shouldn't take long to find out find out how well it's constructed. Would I recommend this camera to a friend? Not yet, I'll give it a few months, but if the image quality remains as is, then yes I would. But, in the meantime I'm getting two more of these to replace a couple other name brand cameras I'm not happy with anymore.Keep in mind that the 3.66mm lens doesn't provide a huge field of view so if you're trying to cover a large area with a single camera this may not be the camera for you. Also, because the deck has accent lighting at night I can't give you an honest opinion on the infrared capabilities. Although I certainly didn't notice any difference from the camera it replaced.PS: If you have an area that your cameras Ir doesn't provide enough light you might consider just adding an Ir emitter. They are inexpensive and can provide a lot of light in areas you currently can't see at night. Search Amazon for "CCTV ir illuminator". 5Worked when we needed them These are awesome!!! We actually caught 3 people breaking into our car using this camera. We have the camera hooked into our computer and saved the footage on a USB drive. The thieves were prosecuted and had to do community service. 5Not Full blown HD, but for area surveillance they fit the bill nicely Clear picture, night mode will benefit from additional lighting. Houses and cars have been broken into almost daily. So we decided to purchase a security system before we were hit. This was our 1st ever security camera purchase. I did not know anything about how to pick one so I did a lot of research and eventually decided on this one. We got the 8camera and 500gb hard drive.It arrived fast and great packaging.Hookup was a bit challenging and time consuming (maybe because this was our 1st) but took a while to get the cords ran. So patience is a plus for all brands I would assume not just this one. But soon that time consuming part was worth it. The picture is crystal clear even in pitch dark. We. Couldn't believe how good it was in night vision. Daytime is just as clear. We have it hooked up to a computer screen that was not being used and its perfect. We have recommended it to everyone . great system, crystal clear pictures and good customer service.Luckily,we have not caught anyone trying to break in our stuff that we have worked hard for many years to get. But if we do we will be ready.Although we have not caught burglars we have caught wildlife on camera. We live in the country/woods type of area and have seen our daily visit from our neighborhood bear as well as raccoon and opposums. I am attaching a pic of the night vision and one of our bear sightings. We only have up 5 of the cameras right now. The pictures are pictures of the screen with my phone but still pretty good quality. 5Do not trust Zosi Do Not Trust ZOSI. They will send you the 700TVL cameras and try to tell you that they are the 800TVL cameras. Even though all the labels, including the label on the camera that has the serial number, state these are the 700TVL. Also states that the camera is Indoor/Outdoor user. READ EVERYTHING. First thing we read is not to use them Outdoors and cameras can't take moisture. This seller is trying to set you up so when the cameras fail, they will point the finger at you. Then when you want to return the item, they will have you pay for the return shipping. Amazon is still making me pay for the return shipping but only re-reimbursed me for half the shipping cost. 1Zosi Warranity Is Useless I would have gave this a 5 star if it wasn't for 2 things, mounting brackets could be a lot better and if the connecters were waterproof, good picture, easy to install, UPDATE Zosi View which needs a lot better instructions, once installed and a Zosi Account set up it found all 8 Of My cameras but with a password error, no matter if I used the system password or the account password still got the error, used no password I got 4 cameras feed but they were not my cameras, not even in the same state which really makes me worry about how secure Zosi view really is (Who Was Looking at my live Feed?), so while the Security system is good, The software leaves a lot to be desired, I Contacted Zosi For The Replacement Of The Defective Mouse, They Said that they would refund me $5.00 if I took A screen shot of a email and give them a 5 star rating, I never did and never refunded me for the defective mouse, Their warranty is useless 2May not work after 1.5 years (updated) ***update below***I bought and installed May-2016, I moved it to a new location in my house (obviously disconnected) and the system is no longer recording...customer support has been terrible in advising on how to fix the problem.They are asking me to remove a hardware, install it again, and then try the upgrades...this is nuts, I am not a computer tech guy, this should not be difficult, and it is terrible that it just stopped recording without any damages to the unit.***update*** 3/13/18after several days of back and forward with customer service, I was able to get a new hardware at no additional cost making my unit work properly again! thank you Crystal! 5
