Customer Reviews

Amazing value for the $13 I paidAmazing value for the $13 I paid. It didnt come with a power adapter; I had to buy separately. Amazing camera for entry level systems. My only complaint is that I found it kind of weird you need a screwdriver to adjust the angle but I guess that makes sense since you dont want people messing with it. The night vision auto enables itself when it gets dark. I am using it in an apartment so I can make sure maintenance doesn't steal any more of my Jack Daniels and that puppy is OK!5The image is crisp and colorful daytime and low noise, never grainy at night. I'd give it a sixth star for the price. It comes with power supplies, cables and everything you need for an easy setup. At this price, pretend that the 1280x720P cameras are $20 each (way worth it) and the DVR, etc. are free. Not perfect. It reboots itself for no reason every two days or so, but it goes right back to recording, A minor pain. I trust that like all things non-Logitech, the software will mature. The DVR doesn't remember your display setup between reboots. And let us use a keyboard instead of having to hunt and peck with a mouse. It promotes short, simple, unsafe passwords. But, again, overall I am very happy with the technology and the value. The fact that the cameras and the recorder both run on simple 12VDC presents a host of ways to backup the power for extended outages. I should mention that streaming to the iPhone app (ZOSI VIEW) is PERFECT. Doesn't fail when flipping between cameras or going full-screen like my old security system did. That makes camera setup very convenient since you can see what you are doing. I recommend that you buy one and get secure. 5Excellent Video, both Day and Night! After having gone through 3 different NVR/DVR systems, this Zosi DVR with 4 Cams was the easiest to setup and get running. This one Model doesn't include the HDD, so you must have one of your own to install...anything between 1 and 4 TB will do nicely, I installed a Seagate with 1.5 TB on mine. The instructions are the best & most concise I've seen coming from The Far East, and the Zosi View app for Smartphones is super easy to setup as well. The cameras' housing are metal and quite sturdy with adjustable hoods and cables about 2 feet long, the DVR is very elegant looking and robust too. Also worth mentioning is the Zosi Client app for PC's & Macs that comes in the CD, all you do is install and use the same parameters as Zosi View to login. Very important to observe, is when you turn on the DVR for the first time...when you log in, remember to leave the Password BLANK. You'll have other chances to change it and the User Name to your convenience.Update 09/08/2017 9:45 PM2 days ago the DVR started Rebooting by itself, and at the same time Rebooting my PC as well every 12 hours or so. Since I had it connected to my Network, I figured that some nosy Orientals were trying to do some snooping in my Computer but couldn't get past my Login password prompt.I've also been having issues with ZosiView on my smartphone, it'll download just fine and install, thus allowing me to see my cameras' video feed, but only as long as I was in the app, and then when I tried going back in all my login information was gone and it wouldn't let me log back in again. The only way I could view my cameras was by uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it again over and over again. It turns out that the antivirus program (Lookout) in my smartphone was detecting fishy traffic coming from (where else?) China every time I installed the app and would lock me out of the site to stop the suspicious snooping network traffic. My only recourse for a remedy was to disconnect the DVR from my Network yesterday, and since then neither the DVR nor my PC have rebooted again. Of course that means that I won't be able to view my cameras on my smartphone anymore...A small price to pay for regaining my Privacy. Otherwise the system functions flawlessly and affords me the convenience of viewing the cameras' feed on my flatscreen TV. 5Decent system, 720p cameras from old ZMODO work on it too I had a ZMODO system similar to this ZOSI that failed. ZMODO no longer make a system that will use the 720p cameras and I wasn't wanting to climb around in the attic and walls to run new wiring. I contacted the seller and they said my cameras should work. I also had the 1tb hard drive from the ZMODO system that I was sure was still working. This system, unlike the ZMODO, doesn't allow viewing DVR recordings from your phone or PC client. You can see the live cameras, take a picture or start recording locally (phone or PC client), but you cannot access previous DVR recordings except at the DVR console. There is also an iVSS remote admin function software included, but it is only for use on your home LAN.I ordered the ZOSI and it was shipped quickly, no problems, packaged very well. I followed the directions for setup and added my old hard drive to the case. They even provide the screws to secure it to the case. I attached the ZMODO cameras to the bayonet connections on the ZOSI, plugged in the Ethernet connection and powered up. I followed directions and formatted the hard drive. The system was up and running, I could see all 4 of the original cameras and it was in manual recording mode. Perfect, and now I have 4 extra cameras to add to my system.[Technical note: I use a DHCP reservation for my ZOSI DVR, which gives it the same internal IP each time. I still checked the "Obtain IP address automatically" and opened the 5000-5001 ports in my router's Port Forwarding setting.]REGISTER with your smart phone. You need to do this next in order to set up the account that you PC/Laptop will use for remote access.I downloaded the app from Google Play, took the REGISTER option, where you enter a user ID and password (your choice) to set up a new account. This is how you will be able to access the cameras from outside your home network (remote). Once you are logged in (write down the user ID and password you gave it in case you forget) you take the MANAGE DEVICE to add your system. Give it a name, enter/scan the device ID on the DVR, user ID and password is the one you gave it when you set up the system (admin + password), then choose the number of cameras. (8) for me and SAVE. Then go back to the menu and choose LIVE PREVIEW. You need to tap one box which lets you choose a camera for that window. Do others the same way. Whether you are on your home network or away you will be able to do this. Setting up the account notifies ZOSI about your home IP. You may need to open your router's port forwarding for ports 5000-5001 to allow external access to the ZOSI device's IP address.Install the PC client on your device using the included DVD or from the ZOSI web site download, which has the most current version. Log in with the account you created in setting up the account on your smart phone. Double-click each camera under the Device List and it will open in the appropriate window (or select a window and double-click a camera). This will allow access on your home network or another external network, like your smart phone WiFi sharing option. For the price of this DVR I am very happy to not have to spend more just to get my old ZMODO cameras recording again. It's a small investment for a big return. The MODO lasted 5 years of 24/7 monitoring and recording. I'm hoping the ZOSI will work as well. Perhaps I'll upgrade when this wears out. :-) 4Works exactly as advertised for a great priceI purchased this Zosi security camera to add to my 8-channel DVR security camera system in my home. I've been using it for 9 months now, and it still works flawlessly. It's outside on the top of a fence, underneath a tree, facing the roadway and my mailbox so I can see when the mail runs and when kids roll through and beat up my mailbox (which I caught on video on Halloween). The night vision works pretty well with a narrow IR field but good range. It works for my application. The picture quality is very good, while the durability and dependability are exceptional. Overall, I didn't find any real flaws with this Zosi camera and will be ordering from them in the future. 5/5 stars5I give up. No more cheap imported DVRs for me. Bought December 2017 to replace another brand unit that died. As soon as I installed it, the unit began random reboots. For a long time I kept thinking that it was something I was doing wrong. I replaced cameras one by one, checked line voltage, tried better power supplies, replaced the hard drive with the recommended brand and type, but the rebooting only got worse. Finally, through email, I worked with their service department and followed all their suggestions until eventually they said it was the unit that had a problem so I paid to ship it to a California address they gave me for a replacement. The replacement unit was much better in several ways but it still randomly reboots itself from 1 to 3 times a day. This may or may not be a problem for you. If you aren't around the unit all day you may not even notice the issue.I waited to long to simply send it back to Amazon for a refund because I thought it was something I was doing wrong. I'm tired of dealing with this and don't believe it's a very good unit. It was very inexpensive so I give up and will just use it until I can afford something of better quality.Their service department was workable and tried to help me. There is a small language issue that left me uncertain at times but their intentions were clearly good. 2Good budget Surveillance DVR and Zosi works hard to take care of customers. I am working on my 2 year anniversary and one DVR did start acting up. ZOSI responded immediately. Mine had a two year warranty due to when I purchased it and they promptly sent a new DVR. These are fine as budget-priced DVRs for 8 cameras or less. I think you need to be on the ZOSI app to use this.I do like to sit at my desk and watch who is letting their dog poop in my hard. 4... the camera but its a little fussy but not horrible they work great for the price we were adding cameras to the shop i work at and I found these so I figured I would give it a try. I don't know if it was the cable (150ft) or the camera but its a little fussy but not horrible it work great for the price. i would buy these again and i would recommend these to anyone looking to replace/add to their security system.Update 10-02-16Still working great4picture seemed good, but within hours the cameras view seemed to ...Installed it no problem, picture seemed good, but within hours the cameras view seemed to yellow and within 36 hours it was dead. So the only thing I really got from this camera is a waste of 2 hours of my time. The time to drive and install it, and drive back to remove it and replace it with another.1Good hardware Bad Software Product arrived as decribed. Very clean looking device and cameras. Dvr and cameras came working as I tested that upon opening the package. Assembly is simple plug and play And they give you a lot of extra cord to install cameras with. Have to say very clear video . But the software sucks . Been stuck at password creation screen since powered up . The on screen keypad works on all letters except ok so after you Create your password you try to hit ok , nothing ?!?! Very frustrated with this softeware at this point. This will most likely be the reason I will have to return it as I can t make it past this screen. 1Awesome Absolutely recommend. Easy to install, setup, and the picture quality is great. I like the fact that we have the control and I don't have to pay a company extra money each month. If you can work a smart phone then you should be able to install this system. If you order the system go ahead and order your hard drive at the same time it will make it easier. Thanks ZOSI. 5Very ImpressedI have had name brand security cameras for years, two of which finally said they'd had enough and drowned themselves. Small cracks developed in the camera case itself where it joins with the mounting base allowing water to do the rest. Now I've only been running this camera for a couple of days but so far I'm impressed enough to get on here and write a review. Our waterfront home presents a challenge for security cameras even during the day due to dramatically different amounts of sunlight. All six of my cameras covering the water side of the property have difficulty when the area they are covering is divided between complete shade and bright sunlight. My name brand cameras completely flare out the bright portion of the picture, you wouldn't see an elephant walk past! Not this little guy and the picture I included tells the story. Please note that nothing was done to this picture besides cropping it to get the manufacturers name out of it. With my other cameras the sunlit portion of this picture would have flared out so badly you would have had a hard time even seeing the windows let alone the furniture. And if you look closely in the corner by the sliding glass door you'll see the motion detecting LED flood lights. They are very bright and would really cause problems for my old camera. When those LEDs came on at night that camera's picture would flare out so badly that I couldn't tell you if my Golden Retriever was at the sliding door. I tested this several times last night and this Zosi camera was great. When the LED floods came on the Zosi gave me a great, no flares picture. Forget the dog, now I'll be able to check the recording and finally find out which cat keeps leaving dead little presents in front of that door for me.This camera is mounted on top of a deck railing, completely exposed to the eliminates. It shouldn't take long to find out find out how well it's constructed. Would I recommend this camera to a friend? Not yet, I'll give it a few months, but if the image quality remains as is, then yes I would. But, in the meantime I'm getting two more of these to replace a couple other name brand cameras I'm not happy with anymore.Keep in mind that the 3.66mm lens doesn't provide a huge field of view so if you're trying to cover a large area with a single camera this may not be the camera for you. Also, because the deck has accent lighting at night I can't give you an honest opinion on the infrared capabilities. Although I certainly didn't notice any difference from the camera it replaced.PS: If you have an area that your cameras Ir doesn't provide enough light you might consider just adding an Ir emitter. They are inexpensive and can provide a lot of light in areas you currently can't see at night. Search Amazon for "CCTV ir illuminator".5Worked when we needed themThese are awesome!!! We actually caught 3 people breaking into our car using this camera. We have the camera hooked into our computer and saved the footage on a USB drive. The thieves were prosecuted and had to do community service.5Not Full blown HD, but for area surveillance they fit the bill nicelyClear picture, night mode will benefit from additional lighting. Bought 4 of them and they worked right out of the box. Not Full blown HD, but for area surveillance they fit the bill nicely. When using it at night, pump up the contrast on your DVR to get the best results.4?No Power Cord?Make sure you it comes with a power supply! This one does not. What you see here is what you get. I gave everything only one star, because I cant really rate a product I cannot use with spending more money. This is something I wouldnt have thought would be sold separately. But I guess it is what it is.1Good Value Video Surveillance System ZOSI DVR Security System and Cameras.Let me start by saying that the customer service is excellent. I have always gotten a friendly, helpful reply to all of my questions. I had trouble with the password setup and had to contact their help line. Anran offered a level of customer service that is hard to find these days! (Word of caution, they seem to be operating on a time zone outside of the United States, so do not expect an immediate response. I would email in the evening and have a response by the next morning.)The system itself is pretty good. I was unhappy with the long wait to get it up and going, but this was due to the problem setting up the password. I have had other systems and this seems to be just as good as the others but significantly less cost. Not much in the way of instructions, but I probably wouldn t have read them anyway. I would look up how to get the DVR to cycle itself. My previous systems would do this automatically, but this one seems to default to just stopping when the hard drive is full. I learned this the hard way when someone vandalized my truck on Sunday and I found the hard drive was full and stopped on Friday Very Disappointed (but not the system s fault). The app was rather easy to setup. You scan a QR code on the unit or screen once you set up an account and then you can view your cameras from anywhere! Much easier to setup than my standalone IP camera! The image quality is pretty good. Way better than I expected from the price!Overall, a really good system for the money. It does act up and do some weird image rolling and things (see photos). Again, you really cannot expect it to perform like a thousand-dollar system. IF that is what you want, then that is what you will have to buy!One more piece of advice, if you are installing it someplace quite, make sure to buy a high quality hard drive (and I recommend the 1TB). I used an older 500Gb drive that I had from another system and it seems to be noisier than I would like for my home. It was ok for the business, but now it annoys me. Not sure how the preinstalled one sounds, but that may be a better choice, especially if you have never installed one. Install was easy, once I figured out that it mounts directly to the bottom of the unit. Good Luck! 4Goes out in cold.Purchased 2 cameras. One was broke at hinge. They work during the day and for whatever reason they shut off in the night. Does not work as intended.Possibly defected and when it gets cold, they shut down. The clarity differs between the 2 cameras. Using same type wire. But what good is security camera if they turn off on their own.I wish I didn t purchase.1Good Camera System Whether You're Looking for Bigfoot or a Nosey Neighbor One night my wife claimed she saw Bigfoot in our backyard. I was immediately suspicious and thought there was a better chance it was our fat, hairy neighbor Fred playing his typical Peeping Tom games with us again...court order be damned. The easiest way for me to solve the Bigfoot vs. Fred question was with the ZOSI 8-Channel HD-TVI 1080N/720P Video Security System.I'll let you know what I discover. 5Excellent system especially for the price. I have had this system for 6 months, had to buy a hard drive for it that was only $25. The motion detection is phenomenal, in fact I caught a guy on video three houses down on a bike that ended up robbing the house across the street from me. The night vision is excellent. It has a pretty good crystal clear video and each camera covers quite a large area. I can't tell you how helpful this has been for me, I have finally caught and have proof of someone continuously illegally dumping in my garbage pile in which the city was giving me fines for dumping things that were not allowed to be dumped and on days that you are not supposed to. Also helped the police with video of the person who robbed the house across the street. I have been able to crack down on people allowing their pets to go to the bathroom on my lawn. I don't have it hooked up to my mobile phone so I can't give a review on that. For $100 plus the $25 I spent on the hard drive you just can't go wrong. I have had absolutely no problems with it and it runs 24/7. I absolutely love this system especially for the price. You just can't put a price on safety, security and peace of mind. I give it two thumbs up. 5Great Little Camera, but Difficult to AdjustI purchased this camera and two different Zosi 1080p cameras and my reviews of them all are identical. This is a great little camera for the price. The image is sharp and the IR night vision is remarkable. Also, the company provides terrific support and responds quickly whether you contact them by email, via the Amazon product question section, or through their website. The big issue I have with these cameras, and it's the same with them all, is they are VERY difficult to adjust. The first thing you notice is the tiny screws you have to loosen in order to make adjustments. The elbow screw, in particular, is especially difficult as it comes from the factory much too tight, which makes stripping the head is a real possibility. Then once you get the camera aligned properly you have to deal with the screw again, this time to tighten it. It is very cumbersome trying to tighten the tiny screw with one hand while holding the camera in place with the other, especially when you're 10+ feet in the air standing on a ladder. The elbow joint has "stops" that are too far apart to make minor adjustments, so if you need to position the camera between them you really have to tighten the screw down a lot to keep the camera in place, again risking damaging the tiny head. You'll probably have to do this several times to get the camera exactly where you want it, and it's a pain. The other thing to know is that this camera must be mounted on a horizontal surface to enable 3 axis adjustment. The camera can be positioned either above the mount where it sits atop it, or below the mount where it hangs from it. Since it does not have a ball-type head, mounting it on a vertical surface like a wall only allows for the camera to be adjusted up or down OR side-to-side depending on how the mount is positioned, but not in both directions. For me, this eliminated vertical mounting as an option. In summary, this is a 5-star camera from a 5-star company that sits on a 1-star mount. I would love to see the mount come with a ball head and a knob for adjusting, or at the very least a larger screw.3
