Customer Reviews

Easy to put together, not easy to hangWe have absolutely NO storage in our half bath and since we live in a rental house, I didn't want to spend too much on storage for something that isn't mine. This was the perfect price for what I needed and was very easy to put together. It holds 6 rolls of regular size rolls of toilet paper (forget about the mega rolls fitting), extra hand towels and Clorox wipes. It looks very nice hanging above the toilet. The one thing I don't like is how you mount it to the wall. First, you have to place these brackets on the inside and you are supposed to attach them to the bottom of the top piece of the cabinet with these little screws. That's fine and all, but you have to make your own holes for these screws. Why couldn't they just pre-drill some little holes? Because I had to use a drill in an awkward position, it left scuff marks on that back panel piece. Then, you have these longer screws and dry wall anchors. Well, there's more drilling needed to the cabinet because you have to screw the long screw through that bracket and out the back panel. Believe me, I know my way around hanging things and this was the most difficult thing to attach to the wall. So, you now have the dry wall anchors in the wall, well, how the hell are you supposed to know where the holes in the wall are once the cabinet is placed against the wall? I tried seeing if I could match up the holes by looking through the drill holes I made through the back, but that was a pain! I'd get one side matched up and lose the other. What I ended up doing was drill the screws through the bracket and back panel so that they poked out the back about a half inch. Then, I stood on a ladder so that I could see above the cabinet. While holding this cabinet, I lined the screws sticking out with the holes in the wall. Then I was able to drill the screw in the rest of the way. Whew! I'm sweating all over again just typing that. There had to be an easier way!4Critical holes not drilledLooks like I got a product return. Box had duct tape on one end. Upon assembly, I found out why. Top shelf required 2 holes to hold a grommet for the upper door mount. Nope, neither were there but a bottom shelf had them! Something wrong at the mill in the Quality Control department. I drilled the new holes myself so I didn t go the return hassle and it works okay. But can only give one star for this issue.1Great Little Hutch!I was able to mount this completely by myself at 9 months pregnant. I'm actually ridiculously proud of that. It's slightly off-center, but damnit, I was alone and super pregnant at the time.It was very easy to put together, looks great, and does its job. As other reviewers have said, the inside doors hold plenty of TP, but because of where the hinges are placed, you looks about an inch of storage on either side. But as you can tell from my photo, that doesn't matter much.4You have to drill your own holesQuality wise and condition, this thing is ok, and it wouldn've been extremely easy to put together had the holes been drilled in the right place. There should be holes drilled above and below where the doors go so you can install the hinges. So there should be holes underneath the top piece and on top of the shelf. Instead, there are holes only in the shelves, and none where the top corners of the doors are, and it's a real pain to drill them in the right size to fit the bushings and also line everything up so the doors don't look crooked. In the pictures you can see the magnet (holes should be next to it), the shelf where they are placed correctly, and underneath the shelf above the towel rack where they don't belong.Luckily, we have free time and a whole set of drill bits, but if you're not prepared for a fight, I would avoid this product. It's a shame because it looks cute and has a lot of potential.3Exactly what I needed, easy to put together and hang This product did exactly what I needed to do. I have a small apartment that I rent that has a bathroom with limited storage. For the price, this product could not be beat. I thought it was going to be cheap. Don't get me wrong, it's not the best out there, but it fulfills the intent of what I need it to do. Instructions were straight forward, and if you have any common sense on how things go together, you won't have any issues. Another reviewer mentioned that you shouldn't over tighten any of the screws or hardware, and that should always be the case when you're working with something that is not made from solid wood. I tightened every piece of hardware snugly, and it did the trick. Hanging it on the wall was perfect, as the wall behind the unit has two studs that I was able to screw into and not have to use the drywall anchors, which I would not recommend using anyway. All in all, this is a nice functional piece that provides that extra bit of storage in the bathroom. 5Cute little cabinetExactly as described - would have given 5 stars except it was a little dinged up and two of the tiny hinge screws stripped immediately (fortunately I had slightly larger matching screws so no problem). It was easy to put together and is perfect for replacing the big clunky cabinet we had in our tiny guest bathroom. CAUTION: if you want real-wood quality, pay the price and get something else! This is just right for the price.4Cute for an extra bathroomWe purchased this to match our sink/cabinet for our new bathroom and it matches quite well and looks good! It gives just a bit of extra room for storage inside and even another option for hanging a towel. (Though we don't use that for towels as it's right above the toilet and that's more than this germophobe could tolerate!) It arrived safely and it didn't take long at all for my husband to hang it. It fits perfectly above the toilet and gives the room a bit of a home feel instead of a bare wall and I like that it "hides" things instead of having a shelf where everything is just out there (collecting germs....the toilet again!) for everyone to see. Because the theme of the bathroom is a sandy beach, it was a good place to add my sandpipers! The nest is actually some potpourri to give a little scent naturally, without the chemical sprays people tend to use in bathrooms. I couldn't give it a 5 because I don't love it....although it totally serves the purpose, it's not outstanding and seems a bit on the cheap side with the doors, hubby had to adjust so they were straight....or as close as we could get to straight. We wouldn't have put this where it would actually be used much, like in our main bathroom, where we are in and out of the cabinet all the time. It didn't seem sturdy enough for that kind of traffic, but for the extra bathroom, it's good.4Sent it back This is a very flimsy set of shelves. I apparently didn't read the product descriptionvery well; because as soon as I saw the box and heard the parts rolling aroundloose in the box. I knew I had made a mistake. The back is made of cardboard; and the the sides are made of pressed and gluedsaw dust. The deal breaker for me though was the depth of the shelves. If you justwant a place to put a few pill bottles and few deodorant sticks; this will be adequate. But I had more storage in mind. So I spent another forty dollars and got a solidcabinet with some depth to the shelves. This product has a very reasonable price; but be sure to read and understand thedimensions and don't expect any real wood. I would suggest taking ruler and laythe measurements out on the wall you plan to use this. And be sure to hold yourruler or tape measure out from the wall to see the depth of the shelves to be surethis set of shelves will be good for you. 2Very cute shelf, but hanging it was tricky Cute as can be, for the price. I've been having trouble finding an item like this (with shelf + towel bar) in this price range. Easy assembly, except one door is a little uneven but don't notice unless you stand far back which you can't in tiny bathroom. Would have given 5 stars but hanging was ridiculously hard. They want you to screw through the back from the front into the wall...which you can't see!!! Incredibly frustrating trying to line up to remeasured spots on walls. We ended up not using that and bought heavy duty mirror hangers from Home Depot and hung it like a big picture. Not sure what they were thinking on that! Could have made it so much easier with pre drilled hanging holes or something. But now that its up, frustration is gone and I'm happy 4Great for the priceThis medicine cabinet is great for the price you pay. You could spend a little extra money and definitely get something nicer, but this works just fine in my 2BR, 2Bath apartment! Fits really well behind the toilet and is fairly easy to put together. I definitely recommend reading the instructions carefully so you don't mix up what screws/parts to put where, but it's not hard otherwise. Took about 20 minutes to put together from start to finish.Has decent storage capacity, although the cupboard on it only has 1 shelf. Fits tall and short items very well and functions as a great medicine cabinet! The bottom (open) shelf fits a standard size box of tissues and a few rolls of toilet paper, just as a reference for size. What the description doesn't tell you is that it is HIGHLY recommended that you attach/mount the structure to the wall (even though it stands on it's own), since there is a topple risk. The kit DOES NOT come with mounting tools, only a vinyl strip to use, so I strongly recommend buying mounting gear or investing in some heavy-duty command strips (that's what I did since I didn't want to put any holes in my bathroom wall) to keep it from falling forward.5Does everything the ad says, looks great.Everything that was supposed to be in the box was in the box. That doesn't always happen. People say it's cheap looking. For the price, no, it isn't. It was easy to put together. I'm a rheumatoid arthritic, with difficulties doing things like this. It was easy. Once put together it is quite sturdy, as it is well designed. Our town home has two very small bathrooms, very little storage, and the wall over the toilet was blank. These were the perfect size.We bought one to try out. We liked it, bought a second one. Perfect for our needs.5Inconsistent productI purchased two of these and had different results with each one, which explains the reviews on this item.Purchased for extra storage in both bathrooms. Price is what ultimately swayed my purchase, heeding both the good and bad reviews. One box had a little damage upon arrival, the other one was perfect. Upon opening the boxes, there was no damage to either pieces. Some reviewers recieved damaged product and therefore rated the item based on that. The instructions are terrible. My husband chucked them. One star removed. This is by no means an expensive item with quality pieces meant to last a lifetime. The price reflects that.On both pieces, the doors do not line up properly. My husband installed a few more washers, tweaking the doors so that they somewhat aligned with each other but no matter what, there was gaps at the top or bottom. One star removed. One of them had black scuffs all over it, removed with a magic eraser. That same one, the holes weren't drilled properly but were easily fixed. One star removed. Both do their job but aren't exactly aesthetically pleasing. For the price, it's okay. I didn't have all the terrible experiences others did and I do realize you get what you pay for. I wasn't expecting an heirloom item for this price. That being said, if you want cheap storage, this is it.2Cheap For A ReasonLet's face it, you're looking at this 'Bathroom Space Saver' because it's cheap and it has some good reviews. This is less of a review though and more of a brief warning. Here's the highlight reel:-Most of the pieces were damaged - mostly dented edges (check the images - these are out of the box)-The pieces that weren't damaged were stained with weird black stuff that does not scrub out - it looks like some of the pieces were sitting next to a burnt log that was sitting in the warehouse before packing-The colors of the pieces don't actually match - it's slight I'll admit, but the doors are white, the rest of the thing is also white, unfortunately not the same white and it is noticeableAll of these things together make for a cheap-looking-but-still-pretty-handy piece of s##t that now sit above where I sit and s##t.I really hope this is just a one-off. Like if you've ever eaten at a top restaurant and the next day while everyone is still talking about how good the 'Butter-Poached Lobster With Chestnuts and Citrus Nage' was while you're driving the porcelain bus.Something tells me, however, that's not the case.Bottom line, that other model that you're comparing this one to is probably better.1
