    Cheap protection for lens and better than a UV filter Arrived with a layer of haze on the glass which was easy enough to clean with a lens pen, but other than that its been good for the price. I'm not a total perfectionist and the lens it is on isn't the best to begin with, so I'm happy with it, though some pixel peepers may not be. Behaves as a circular polarizer should. 5I like it! I ordered this Zeikos ZE-CPL46 46mm Multi-Coated Circular Polarizer Filter because it was so cheap and the reviews were good. The next day I ordered a much more expensive Hoya - Filter - circular polarizer - 46 mm from Amazon. Well, I have tried both filters and can't see any difference between them optically. The Hoya seems to be made a little better. The Zeikos was a little lose and not quite as tight fitting on the adjustment collar. The Hoya threads were just a tiny bit longer which made it easier to get on. I took pictures with both of them. I can't see any difference. They both look good. They both did a good job of eliminating glare and give the pictures greener greens and make the sky more blue. I like them both. 5Corners are blocked by lens if you attach to BlurFix for GoPro! If you are buying this as an attachment for your GoPro's Blurfix adapter, the corners of your shots are blocked by the lens (for r3 mode, GoPro version 1). For me, it's not a HUGE deal, because I normally use the Polarizer for skiing videos, and I'm in no way trying to make "professional" videos. But, if you are trying to make high quality videos for web publishing, or other "professional" uses, you will be disappointed. I think this lens is too thick. When I have the standard UV lens attached, there is no problem with videos, but because this one has to rotate, the overall thickness of the lens must stick out too far into the shot. I haven't tried one of the other modes, perhaps those are better. But I think most people use r3 mode in the orginal GoPro version 1 model. 3Good value for money I usually buy top-quality B+W filters, but since I needed a 72mm circular polarizer and the Zeikos was a fraction of the cost of B+W's, I decided to give it a try. Optically it seems fine; the image isn't distorted, and as a circular polarizer it does its job well. It screws onto the lens smoothly, also. My one annoyance with the Zeikos is that it is rather stiff to turn: rotating it counter-clockwise has an irritating tendency to start unscrewing the filter from the lens, which could result in it coming completely off and being dropped. This is something to watch out for, but it may be acceptable if price is a consideration and you don't plan to use it a lot. If you're the sort of photographer who uses polarizers all the time, you'd probably be better off spending the money for a B+W. 4It's crap. But it's cheap. So basically it's cheap crap. Really, don't bother with this. Spend the extra $20 on something that will at least work. I mean, this does KIND OF enhance skies and clouds, and it SORT OF knocks down reflections, but not very well. Or for very long. The coating on the glass seems to have faded or something, as the polarizing effect is about half what it was when I got it. Also, it gives MISERABLE lens flare. I know you should be shooting with the sun to the side, but with a wide angle lens the flare really is bad. Also, any sun hitting the lens just exacerbates the really awful quality of the coating. It looks like it was put on with an old, cheap paintbrush. I guess if you only have $8 to spend, and will die if you don't get a polarizer, then go for it. Otherwise, save up for something a little better made. 2Lens causes vignetting in corners. I purchased this filter to use with my Nikon 18-140 mm lens for outdoor and beach photography. After using it on a sunny day on vacation, I was disappointed to see dark vignetting in the corners of all my wide angle shots. The filter ruined several of my shots. However, the vignetting was not as bad when I removed my regular UV filter. I quickly realized not to use both filters at once.Also, I hoped the filter would improve shots of the ocean and sky taken in full sun, but I took several shots with the filter and without the filter and preferred the images without the filter. I noticed no improvement or benefit with this filter at all. 3Works well for the money! Works a treat on a old Pentax and Mamiya lens. The thread is a little skinny, so you might want to be careful that it won't get stuck on your lens, but the polariser bit rotates pretty easily and works well. I haven't got anything to compare it too, mind but I'm impressed, certainly for the money.There's no case for this though, nor any covers. I have a spare lens cap on one end and put it in a spare lens extender case, so not ideal but it works for me when I'm not using the thing. 4Great filter---does what it should, and well. Upon arrival, I added it to my Canon SX30IS and shot a couple of wide-angles. I shot the same scene 3 times: No filter, filter in "least polarizing" position, filter in "most polarizing" position. The appearance of things w/ it polarizing was what I expected: Sky much bluer, midday foliage more vivid green, etc. Then, I blew the pics up from their 14 Megapixel scaled-down versions on the screen, up to 1:1, and compared the three. I could see no reduction in sharpness...period!This is a great value for a circular polariazer. Seems to be well made. My only complaint is that my other polarizers have a little marker/handle to let me know in what rotated position it will do its' polarizing magic (e.g., keep that spot rotated downwards for usual use); with this one, you have to just be looking through the filter as you adjust it's rotation....every time! Otherwise, it is just fine! 5Terrible product, spend the extra $ on a better product. I hated this for the whopping two days I owned it before it fell off my lens and went tumbling into some water. I purchased this for a trip to Florida where we would be looking for manatees. I wanted a polarizing filter to help with the glare, but have been thinking about replacing this particular lens and didn't want to spend a lot of money on the filter. Based on the number of stars, I ordered this one.It repeatedly fell off the lens while I was adjusting it. The colors and clarity are horrible and as far as polarizing goes it wasn't even that great.The last time it fell off my lens was when I was standing by a spring trying to take some photos. It jumped right off and bounced into the water. So in addition to polluting the water, I can't even return this piece of junk. 1Amateur photographer. I lost my package for the first one but then I contacted the seller and they send me another one right away. shipping was pretty fast.It works well, the quality is great, the rim made of metal do it's pretty sturdy. I don't have any problems with it so far. It works great overall. If you taking picture of a lake on daylight, you will see the difference when you adjust the ring, it will decrease the flare on the surface of the lake significantly. The only thing I complain is that the ring pretty kind of clutching. 4 stars. Still love it. Best bang for the buck 4
