Product great--my cover not so much The item works great! Fits in the CD slot--magnets are super strong to hold the iPhone.......but the "glue" didn't hold onto my plastic cover. Even used some super glue to no avail. Tried putting the magnet on the back of the phone, and then covered it, but the cover was too thick for a tight "grip." Finally, McGyver'd it and put a piece of Scotch tape (2" wide) on the back of the cover, covering the magnet, and it works just fine. 5i would give minus rating if possi ble...another cheaply made China POS!!! could not reach my far into my cd player to grab because of dash facing plate. when i had my facing plate off for unrelated update/upgrade, tried this unit directly into my cd player, it went in snugly...in fact so snugly, the face plate came off along with it (refer to pictures) and it's so tightly connected the only way to remove is to cut it off and i don't want to do that and with it attached, i can't even return this item. ...???...maybe my heat gun will allow me to warm the plastic enough to pry it off without either piece cracking.i seriously doubt the people that designed and mfg. this item did any real testing to know what it will fit and if it can be installed and removed without causing any damage and my vehicle for this install is a very common 2011 ford f-150 with many, many on the market without any unusual or uncommon features that would effect the compatibility...it's just another untested China made garbage product. 1Works great in the Lexus NX CD player This fits great in my Lexus NX. I've driven with it for a few hundred miles and it's stayed right in place with no jiggling. Having my phone on it does not interfer with the shifter which gets close while in park. The mount does block the little tray above the CD player though.This is exactly what I was hoping for. I have my phone metal plate on the lower third of my phone so I can still use the qi charger, and that placement works great with this mount in the NX.The black plastic is a close match to the black in the Lexus too, so it looks like this mount is suppose to be there. 5Works well enough, even on recessed CD slots. Just be careful when removing your phone or you'll pull it out of the slot. It's OK. It will securely hold a moderate weight smartphone over highway bumps and curves. You just have to be careful when removing your phone or you will pull it right out of the CD slot, as the magnet strength is stronger than mount grip strength. That said, at least this will hold in the somewhat recessed CD slots common on many newer cars (for me specifically, a 2015 Volvo S60), where other CD slot mounts I've tried won't hold at all. It's because this one works by exerting pressure left/right against the sides of the CD slot, instead of up/down like nearly every other CD slot mount. 4Best magnetic dock ever - how does THAT grab you? Amazingly strong and well-made. First off, I like that this did not have the big knob to tighten it within the CD slot.The springs are strong enough to hold this very securely. The magnets are terrifically strong and hold my very heavy Nexus 6 with heavy case very firmly. In fact, once I stuck it there, I knocked the phone from all four sides and did not dislodge it.Also, the way the swivel joint is placed and angled puts the phone up above the head unit so it does not interfere, but is still below the vents.I am confident this will work well for me. 5Strong Magnet and Sturdy Mount I never play CDs anymore, so this is a perfect location for the mount. It swivels so I can set the right angle for viewing my phone. I had a little trouble getting it to fit in the CD slot, so I filed the ends just a little with an emery board and it fits nice and snug now.I liked this one better than the other WizGear CD mount (with the screw mount) because it looks neater and doesn't block the radio as much.My husband uses the WizGear Car Vent Mount and he likes it for the portability when driving different cars, but I like the stability of this one and it doesn't block the vents. 5This mount puts the phone in perfect view. It is a breeze to install and ... This car mount is a God send! I recently took a trip to San Diego from Northern California and I bought this to mount my phone and use the GPS. I have a 2017 Toyota Camry and the CD player is up high on the dashboard under the air vents. This mount puts the phone in perfect view. It is a breeze to install and it is very sturdy. It is made of a hard plastic and the magnet has a rubber coating on it. The magnet is strong even on a thinker case that I am using. The mount comes with 3 metal plates included that fit your phone. The only thing I dont like about it is the range of how far side to side you can move ur phone. For me I wish I could move it just a tad more so that the passenger can see the screen a little better to make changes on the phone while mounted. It is not a deal breaker, far from it. Other than that the mount is great.UPDATE: I have now purchased another one for my girlfriends car. This thing is amazing! 4Perfect for my Gen 8 Civic! I have never liked car phone mounts. To me, they're just one more thing I gotta fumble with when I sit down to go someplace. Not anymore. I never listen to CDs so this thing is perfect for me, and the mounting hardware to get it stuck in the slot is the most low profile/compact option I could find on Amazon.I mounted it "upside-down" in my 2009 Civic, which has a CD slot that is angled up. No regrets, I'm recommending this to anyone else I know with one of these cars that doesn't use CDs. 5Should take this back to the drawing board The arms that slide into the CD slot aren t long enough to slide all the way into the CD player to lock in place, also, the arms could be made a little thicker to make it more stable from bouncing up and down. I e read reviews on other products from different companies and it appears they have the same issues. These are flawed and should be made specific for different style CD players.This cell phone holder did not work for me and I m disappointed.
