I am hunter a like to process my own meat I am hunter a like to process my own meat. I use very sharp knives to simplify and speed up the processing. Only problem is I tend to try to go to quick and rarely get through an entire deer, elk, etc without cutting myself at least once. While deboning my son's elk this past fall and slicing my finger open pretty good in snow covered mountains, far from anywhere I could get a few stitches, I decided I should take some precautions. I bought these as they are very light, thin, and take next to no space in my pack. I have used them a few times now. I usually use a razor sharp Havalon knife. I have nicked myself a few times while wearing these, but have yet to draw blood and the gloves were uncut. Simply, they do what they claim too. They also wash up very easily so they can be used over and over again. 5Even a knife capable of slicing off appendages with ease couldn't cut through. Worked as expected. I tested them using 3 different knives and varying sharpness tests. Between a low-grit bladed bowie knife which didn't even drag on the gloves, let alone cut through. A pizza knife, which hadn't cut through at all either. Then a scalpel-sharp salmon filet knife. The filet knife slightly frayed some fibers of the glove, but did NOT cut through during multiple pulls. These gloves can mean the difference between having a hand and having a stub if an accident were to happen. Highly recommend. 5I am very pleased with these cut resistant gloves I am very pleased with these cut resistant gloves. The gloves have a stretchable, snug fit which gives a secure feeling. I can use them and my wife can use them even though our hands are of different sizes. I am glad I had the gloves on while chopping some vegetables the other day because I was interrupted and the result wouldn't have been very nice otherwise. The seller's fast shipping was exceptional. The product was as described. I highly recommend these gloves to anybody that works in preparing food either with a sharp utensil or while using a food or cheese shredder. 5Good solid gloves Love the gloves. I'm always cutting myself when I clean fish. The Mrs also cuts herself in the kitchen. The gloves fit snug. I'm a medium to large in regular gloves and i ordered a small for this one. I like that is feel snug and not loose so when holding an item it won't move around in your hand. I tried using my sharp knife in a cutting motion and it worked. The gloves have what looks like thin metal meshing or wires. From looking at the cuts I can say that the gloves will prevent most cuts you get. It looks solid made. It won't prevent you from stabbing yourself. I tried it gently and it won't stop a stab. I'll use it over the next month and update if I notice anything.I wish we had this year's ago. Glad I bought it. 5Cut Resistent FAIL I used these gloves for protection against the super-sharp blades of my mandolin when slicing sweet potatoes (which are too hard and large to use the mandolin s included hand guard). Even upon first use, I anticipated they may not be able to withstand the stainless-steel blades, but I wanted to see just how long they d last. With infrequent use (maybe 8-10 uses) , they only lasted just under 15 months before the material couldn t withstand the occasional contact with those mandolin blades. The result is perforated gloves and a minor cut on the inside of my palm (I always move slowly on the mandolin, so I can only imagine how much more severe the injury would ve been if I d been haphazardly slicing away).I m pretty disappointed in these gloves, but perhaps the $10 I paid should ve been a red flag (i.e. you get what you pay for). The only reason I gave them even two stars is because for the first couple times they worked pretty well, but longevity and durability are nonexistent for this product. In fact, a hole developed in the top of the right-hand thumb all on its own without having run afoul of the mandolin blades. I always hand washed these gloves and line dried, so I know it wasn t an issue with how I cared for them. Just a big disappointment. 2Great Protection in My View After 2 months of ownership I must say that I am very pleased with these cut resistant gloves. There was lots of food prepping during the holidays that involved cutting fruits, roots and vegetables that are notorious for their potential for accidental hand cuts. I wore nitrile gloves over these and cut away without a scratch, more quickly and safely that ever. The nitrile gloves gave a better, safer grip than these gloves alone and kept these gloves clean and ready for the next project. 5Great Gloves! These gloves are fantastic. I have large hands which usually presents a problem for me with gloves. The large size would easily fit a smaller hand than mine but they are very stretchy. They form perfectly to the hand like a second skin. They keep your hands from getting so cold when you are working with cold meat for an extended time. They wash up easily with dish soap and hot water and dry fast. I just bought a pair for my brother. 5Extra protection from sharp kitchen knives I don't use these for heavy duty butchering, just simply for cutting basic ingredients (e.g. tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, etc.) for meals. Not wanting to risk getting cut I just wear these as an extra precaution. These fit snug on the hands, they feel comfortable also to wear. They have some give to them, allowing them to stretch to your hand size. I haven't purposely tried to cut through these guys, but I can honestly say I have never had any injuries while wearing them doing kitchen type activities 5Good gloves, some quality issues I am accident prone so these gloves seemed like a good way to protect my hands while chopping vegetables and meat. I could also use them in the garden when it is time to pick from or pull out spiny plants.Since I accidentally ordered a size large instead of small I can't talk about sizing except that the pair I received seem to be two different sizes. One glove almost fit my hand and one was definitely large and too big for me. This sort of works out since I can use the smaller one and my husband can use the larger one. One glove had a loose string inside (see picture). I tied a knot and snipped it off. For those two reasons it loses a star for quality. 4and they work fine. I ordered small and I wear a size ... WOW! I cannot tell you how many times I have cut a finger or lost a nail. It is nonsense about the knife not be sharp enough, as the common reason people get cut. For me, it is rushing and tackling too many activities all at once. It is a concentration problem. This will save you a trip to the first aid box or the emergency room. My hands are very tiny, but I can push the tip of my finger to the end, and they work fine. I ordered small and I wear a size 5 ring. 5
