Customer Reviews

Pretty great wrench set Pretty great wrench set. I was ultimately impressed with the ratchet. This thing is pretty hefty in hand, it sounds great, and runs smooth. Switching to reverse and back is quick, no hang ups like cheap ratchets. The sockets, very nice, I have dropped a bunch quite a few times, no marks (except minor minor scuffs). As far as longevity, the ratchet is serviceable, but for what I use it for (light-med auto work, around the house type stuff) I do not think I will ever need to replace this. The sockets may wear out depending on how hard use, but there are pretty durable, wrenching on big bolts up till now I do not see any unusual wear. Really great product for the cost! 5Exactly what I was looking for! The 1/4" drive, 27 piece is a great basic set. I wasn't sure what was included because the description is somewhat vague. The lack of information almost made me settle for a Craftsman set, but a trip to Sears 6 days before Christmas wasn't exactly appealing to me. I'm happy I took the chance and ordered it.The set includes the following : Tools: 5-1/4'' Pear Head Ratchet 1-1/2'' Extension 6'' Extension Spinner Handle Universal Joint 1/4'' Drive SAE Shallow 12 Point Sockets: 3/16'' 7/32'' 1/4'' 9/32'' 5/16'' 11/32'' 3/8'' 7/16'' 1/2'' 9/16'' 1/4'' Drive Metric Shallow 12 Point Sockets: 4mm 5mm 5.5mm 6 mm 7mm 8mm 9mm 10mm 11mm 12mm 13mm 14mm 5the Williams 50661 1/4-inch drive socket set I bought the Williams 50661 1/4-inch drive socket set last spring and it is high quality.I like the convenience of having all of these sizes and extensions in a travel size case with this handle on the end. The size stampings on the sockets are very consistent and the quick release ratchet is handy so I won't loose a part. The spinner has a soft grip handle. The only thing I might suggest would be to include a locking ball detent on the spinner or an extension to ensure none of these parts go missing in a tight area.Right now, I see a lower price than I actually paid at the time. Which is good if I need to replace a missing part. 5Williams tool kit Likely the best tool kit of this type I have ever purchased. Quality tools, quality case, everything works and stays in place. I may buy another one just to save. Great option if you need a reasonable set of tools around the house or in the truck or whatever, and you need tools that work and are quality items....here it is. 4Good quailty I have used this product for the last 2yrs as a diesel tech. Saying that I'm always hard on all of my tools. These have stood the test of time. I have not broken or chipped and of the drivers. And yes I have put them on my impact guns before, I'm not recommending this, but where I work if I break it, my company will replace it no questions asked. They have a nice finish and very tuff 5not perfect, but very good I work in maintenance of electromechanical equipment, so it isn't as if this has been sitting in a drawer just incase I need a ratchet set. The ratchet was a little stiff and crunchy at first but it has smoothed out with use. My chrome is shiny and not falling off in chucks. It's got a wide range of sizes, in particular the 9/16th size which is common on the machines I work on but hard to come by in a 1/4 inch drive set. The case feels kind of cheap, the clasp is bendy/plastic rather than being hinged, but it has held up surprisingly well and keeps all the sockets snug without rattling around all the time. The handle is kind of silly; as if I am going to walk around answering service calls with just a ratchet set in my hand rather than having it in a bag with the other tools. I cut it off because it was superfluous and taking up space in my tool bag. The driver handle is really good. I was trying to find a Williams #2 Philips driver with the same handle, but could not. This is a very functional set that has stood of well to daily use. The case is the only downfall, which isn't bad, just not as good as it could be 4good set of tools I purchased this set of tools a little over 2 yrs ago so far they've been great! I use them just about everyday at work I've even put a few sockets on my 1/4 dewalt impact driver to quickly remove and install bolts never had a issue, i carry tools to different locations for work so i try to keep my tool bag small, light and convenient i like how the case is small and easy to get the sizes you need the only thing is a wish they made a better case so far there hasnt been a issue but i know the snaps will eventually break there starting to get weak from openening and closing so much,i do prefer 6 point sockets over 12 but still happy with my purchase 5Great tools at a great proce I have owned many brands of tools over the years, and this 1/4 socket set is as good, or better than, all (including Snap On). Williams was purchased by Snap On in 1993 and this tool set is as good as any Snap On tools I have owned, and available at a much lower price. Any hand tool purchases I make in the future will be Williams tools. 5Great quality If you're not allergic to blue stuff. This tool set is my go-to set. Its not made in the USA but the quality is great nonetheless. The case is super convenient in my line of work, I'm a field mechanic, I just grab this and a couple pliers and wrenches and I'm set.Pros:a.) Super convenient case designb.) Great quality toolsc.) Swivel attachment is super useful for tight spacesd.) good extensionse.) ratchet handle is nice and ergonomic...in a simple wayf.) good price for the great qualityCons:a.) its not expensive so you cant brag to your friends about your expensive toolsb.) Its blue, so if you're allergic to blue, this kit is not for youc.) This is not keyboard, so those of you trying to plug it into your pc will have a hard time(and possible loss of life) 5Williams 50661 1/4-Inch Drive Socket and Drive Tool Set, 27-Piece This review is on the Williams 50661 1/4-Inch Drive Socket and Drive Tool Set, 27-Piece. It has both metric and inch (SAE) sockets. Made in Taiwan. Compare this to the current Craftsman 1/4-inch drive socket sets, which come separately as either metric or inch, and are made in China. This Williams set is certainly equal if not superior in manufacturing quality to the Craftsman (I think, superior), and it contains more tools and sockets. The Craftsman metric set goes from 5mm to 13mm, lacking the Williams 4mm, 5.5mm, and 14mm. The Craftsman inch (SAE) set goes from 3/16 to 1/2, lacking the Williams 9/16. The Craftsman 1/4-inch drive sets have the sockets, a ratchet, and a 1-1/2 inch extension bar. This Williams set has the sockets, a ratchet (30001), a 1-1/2 inch extension bar and 6 inch extension bar, plus a 1/4-inch drive U-Joint, and 1/4-inch drive spinner handle. If you bought the two Craftsman sets, you d have two ratchets - otherwise, there is no advantage to choosing Craftsman over Williams. Comparing the ratchets, I prefer the Williams: it looks better, and feels better in the hand and in use. Both are 36 tooth designs. Comparing the sockets, the Williams are slightly longer than the Craftsman. All sockets are 6 point.I recommend this Williams set as an affordable, casual use, 1/4-inch drive metric and SAE socket set. 5
