Customer Reviews

Great water pressure, but needs water control feature. This showerhead has very nice water pressure and I love the settings. The only thing I don't like is you cannot change the water pressure. I miss on the old model we had that we had 3 water settings to save water while you shower or to decrease the pressure. I'm fine with the way it is now, but if I get burned in the summertime, it's going to make taking showers very difficult and painful. If you like being able to control the water flow, find another model. If you want something that's going to help increase water pressure and give you different nozzle settings, this is perfect! 4Good showerhead that works As another reviewer has pointed out, the entire showerhead is plastic...as well as the attachments etc. I thought this was an exaggeration when I bought this but it turned out to be true. Not a big deal but still a bit of a surprise.I gave this 4 stars because for the price I paid for at the time during a special, the showerhead dramatically improved water pressure in the shower I installed it in and made a big difference. (I wish I had replaced the default showerhead with this a year or two ago)The above being said, some of the settings that you can switch this to do seem a little weak. For example, I did not notice a difference with the massaging setting. Some of the other reviews touch on this so I won't repeat what has been said by typing it out here.At the time of purchase, I was hoping to nab a slightly higher-end model similar to the one I bought at Home Depot (that one the settings for the showerhead are noticeable...even the massage setting) but alas I could not find it on Amazon and settled for this. If you are in a situation like I was with a showerhead that had terrible water pressure and want to replace it with something cheap that does in fact work, I think this showerhead is a good buy. I recommend going with an Amazon sale where the unit is closer to $20 in price. 4I've had it for 2 months now and the thing was easy to install and easy to use review by Rich Veum: this is a simple, straightforward detachable shower head that works perfectly. I've had it for 2 months now and the thing was easy to install and easy to use.PROS: good strong stream of water at most concentrated setting; connection to shower pipe is screw-on, not a ball and joint which tends to fail over time; hose plenty long enough.CONS: the hose is rather stiff and after 2 months still not "relaxed". Minor detail.I've owned more expensive and fancy shower heads and this one works better than them all, and appears more sturdy so far. 5Great Pressure!! Love this shower head, on the top floor our water pressure can get to Lo for my liking, but with this high pressure shower head, the water can come up with so much pressure it almost hurts LOL. But that is fine with me it s great for rinsing your hair out really fast, which is great if you have very thick hair like my daughters. The only drawback is the hose to this showerhead is stiff, which makes it kind of hard to manipulate I think the hose is a little short also, I wonder if they have a longer hose option, if they do that would be better. 5The smell from the hose is overwhelming & possibly harmful? I highly recommend that if you do purchase this item with the plastic hose that you cut a hole in the package and give it a sniff before you commit to opening and using this item. Some reviewers have stated that the smell will dissipate over time but ask yourself this, why would you allow an unknown chemical become part of the air you breath? The odor from the hose is unbearable, the vinyl is not completely cured and is off-gassing the volatile used in its manufacture. I'm concerned the chemical is being introduced into the water because just touching the hose transfers the smell to your hands. It also fills the bathroom with the odor and I returned it the next day. This not the first time I've encountered a material that was still off-gassing and I believe that the manufactures are cutting corners everywhere they can. I think they believe that if they can save even a few pennies per product it's just more profit they can make.Something to consider, the US ships our recyclable plastic to China and they use that to make the products that they sell back to us.Search this: Is that Smelly Plastic from China Toxic? 1Finally, a shower pipe attachment that does not leak! Reviews for this product include many complaints about the leaking attachment to the shower pipe. The complaints also reflect frustration with Waterpik customer support, whose advice seemed to center on recommendations not to use Teflon tape. My frustration was that my repeated attempts to connect to the shower pipe always resulted in cross-threading and leaking, sometimes bursting from the pipe. This situation drove me to Ace Hardware to buy a generic replacement shower arm attachment. Unlike the Waterpik original, I could easily thread it on the shower pipe and the connection was leak-free. Even though the cost was only around $6, it was an expense that I should not have had to incur. Therefore, I made one more call to Waterpik and the helpful customer service rep immediately submitted an order for a replacement bracket, free of charge. When the replacement arrived today (less than one week after my call), it was apparent that the connection had been completely re-engineered. It is unlike any shower arm attachment I've ever seen. For example, this connection uses reverse threading so that tightening the large connection nut does not result in loosening the connection to the shower pipe. The packing slip identifies the part as item number WAT BRK-008 Unbreakable Slate Grey Bracket; however, the bag in which it was shipped is labeled Waterpik 20015058 Bracket Assy Kit.The leaky original bracket was a fatal flaw for a product that was otherwise quite good--attractive, good array of shower settings, etc. Fitted with the new replacement bracket, this handheld shower operates in the manner I had expected when I bought it more than a year and a half ago. 4Don't be fooled by its appearance The product listing and the pictures are misleading. This is NOT made of metal with chrome finish. This is plastic with that fake, chrome-ish coating that usually starts flaking off after a while. Still, it's easy to install yourself, but it doesn't come with any thread compound or Teflon tape, which you should definitely use when assembling the fixture and attaching it to the j-pipe. The water pressure seems good and it does have a number of different spray types. Overall, it's okay, but I really thought I was replacing my previous metal shower head with another metal shower head and it was disappointing to discover it was light plastic instead. So I don't imagine it will last 10+ years like my last one did. 3Great product! I got this shower head because I needed one that was flexible during my recovery. I have to say that now that I am back good to go I STILL use it. I love the pressure settings and also the fact that it sits so high up it makes it a breeze to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. The tubing is long enough to reach the entire distance of my large tub as well. Don't forget to use the plumbing tape because it is absolutely necessary. 5I like a forceful stream from a showerhead I like a forceful stream from a showerhead. This is difficult to find in these days of watersaving at any cost. This is exactly what I wanted. It transforms by typical water pressure shower into a hurricane. Highly recommended for those of you with similar tastes. 5Buy the YOO.MEE instead Buy the YOO.MEE instead: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015MMA1Q8/This Waterpik has a decent regular shower mode but the other settings are wussy and not worth using. After several installation attempts we finally got it to stop leaking during shower use but it strangely leaked cold water onto my head whenever I used the tub spigot to fill a bucket, etc. The plastic hose that came with it had a strange odor that got stronger with warm water flowing through it. The entire bathroom smelled. This smell may not be noticeable to all since my husband could not smell it, but the smell bothered me even when I walked by the bathroom. I replaced the Waterpik with the above linked YOO.MEE and I am very glad I did. 3
