Customer Reviews

Look and Finish...OK...what I found....not OK!!! The finish of this product looks great. Each piece looks brand new as it should. It even came with some cheap mounting hardware. This was a plus. The issue was when I took the head off of the extension that was attached. The threads were rusted as well as the inside of the mounting head itself. I made sure it was still solid before trying to clean it up a bit with some WD-40 but you can tell that this was due to it being shipped from China on a cargo ship. How do I know it was that which caused the rust...well be cause it is a common problem when product isn't sealed. In fact all of the parts came in a box and each section was in it's own mini zip lock bag. The head came in a bag that had a hole at the bottom of it. The other two part bags were completely sealed. So it will work but you have to keep in mind that you may see some rust....make sure you check them before installing them or you could find your device on the ground or not where you put it. 3Awesome after marking mounting system What a great after market mount!! So many variables to use for any type of camera. I used mine with the Zmodo outside 1080p wifi camera. The mount that came with the camera was very limited in adjustment options. Made of all metal construction, will last for years without worrying about plastic parts breaking. 5Zero product support This mount is a cheap knock-off of the Panavise Micro-mount, which is available here:https://www.amazon.com/Panavise-845-246W-Deluxe-Micro-Mount/dp/B00009WBYX/ref=sr_1_2?s=security-surveillance&srs=2530091011&ie=UTF8&qid=1519750718&sr=1-2The low quality materials in this "VideoSecu" mount render it completely unacceptable. Perhaps the unfinished word in their name alludes to the idea that their mounts are not completely Secure, or don't provide full Security. Caveat emptor!I intended to use the base and short fixed stem to ceiling-mount a small PTZ-type camera assembly. The 1/4" threaded stem welded onto the circular mounting base that I received was bent, which caused the camera to be very noticeably tilted off-level when viewing the image. Probably just a one-off manufacturing defect, not really a big deal. But what made this a big deal for me is that the manufacturer (who also happens to be the seller) vehemently refused to send me a replacement base unless I paid for the part plus the shipping. In fact, they insisted that nothing could possibly be defective about their product, and then accused me of causing the problem myself.I suggest purchasing the Panavise instead (link above) which comes with more parts, allowing for greater versatility in your application. It is slightly more expensive, but their product quality control and customer support are superb in my experience. 1will accommodate quite a few different configurations Good quality, good finish...Multi purpose mounting options for Wall or Drop ceiling framing, works well for intended purpose, which is a fixed mounting of a camera. The multiple adapters and ball socket will accommodate quite a few different configurations. I actually purchased a few of these to use the extensions/ceiling mount threaded into some panels to make hanging room dividers as well as using the the wall mount and ball socket for the intended purpose of a camera mount. Actually worked great for the panels...AS to the camera mounting again this works well for a fixed mounting of a camera but if you have to remove the camera frequently then it is not the most user friendly set up. I remove my camera with each use and there is no way to screw the camera mount on to the camera you must screw the camera on to the to mount...that means you lock everything on the mount in place and spin your camera around and around...then lock with the thumb nut.A work around is to determine the depth the camera will thread onto the screw and spin the thumb nut a few turns past this point and glue in place. then you can loosen the thumb screw that locks the ball socket and turn the mount screw by the lock nut onto the camera... 4Nice metal mount with extensions and good locking head these turned out to be better quality than I anticipated. The extensions included were easy to add and the head locked down quite well. I mounted speakers in a classroom on a drop ceiling. I would STRONGLY suggest that you secure the bracket to the drop ceiling frame with a zip tie as it doesn't really lock into place on its own. The ceiling frames is basically like an upside down capital T, and I personally would drill a hole through the ceiling frame portion that is hidden by the panels where the T meets so A. your zip tie stays low if hole is not provided and B. your panels slip in easier. 5I Would Buy it Again It works just fine and is totally adjustable. I needed to mount my Arlo camera upside down, but the software lets you flip the picture. Four vs. five stars because one does need to fool around with both the small set screw and the thumb screw to get it to hold position. If it doesn't snug up easily, stop trying to overtighten. No need. With the right combination it works fine. I found that tightening the set screw a bit first, then the thumb screw, worked well for me. You will need a small allen wrench for the set screw. And paint on the thumb screw threads may need to be cleaned off to facilitate easy tightening. For me, the low cost makes the small hassle to tighten worth it. 4Worked well for a slightly different use case I used this to mount my 3M streaming Roku projector to the ceiling. It worked pretty well for this purpose, but the adjustment system is a bit problematic. I could either have it very loose where it didn't hold anything in place or so tight that you can't make any small adjustments. There didn't seem to be any in between. Other devices I have that work similarly, like mini tripods, have a point where you can adjust them with a little bit of friction and then turn the lock screw to lock it down tight once get it where you want it. It was hard to get this thing to lock down tight and once you got it where you wanted it, trying to lock it down would cause it to move a little. I eventually managed, but only after a lot of aggravated frustration. I probably took it apart where the set screw and ball are half a dozen times trying to figure out if I was doing something wrong. Once adjusted and in place though, it works perfectly for the task I gave it as it is very small and unobtrusive. 3Useful It works fine with my Deeplee A1 projector. I wish it was a little longer so I'm going to purchase an extender.. The ball joint is where I have the issues. Even when it's tight, it still wobbles a bit. I would buy it again though. 4Good, solid all-metal construction Good, solid all-metal construction. The metal ball mount is fine for most usual purposes, but I replaced it with a Neewer tripod ball mount (that has a 3/8" to 1/4" mounting screw adapter) so I could have a more dynamic mount with a quick release. The combination makes an excellent, quickly adjustable, smooth, secure, wall mount for angling my camcorder down over my worktable for documentation (see photo). I just made a review of the Neewer tripod mount, too, if you're interested:https://www.amazon.com/gp/review/RDMAKL5CJCZ7O?ref_=glimp_1rv_clI notice that the one star reviews for this VideoSecu bracket are all about the ball mount being too loose and poorly made. I also notice most of those bad reviews are from years ago, so maybe that quality control problem was fixed since then. The ball mount was very nicely made and tightened just fine on the one I got. I plan to use it with the left-over extensions for another project. 5Sturdy mount - started with 2, ordered 4 more This mount is a perfect fit for my TriVision NC-335PW HD camera, which came with its own mount that's too short and not as flexible as this one. I've ordered two of these for my home surveillance project, and neither has had any issues. The tightening screw holds the camera fixed rock-solid with no movement whatsoever. The ball joint is held in place by two screws - a hex screw and a hand-tightening screw. Just make sure that the top of the hex screw is flush with the body of the mount. It doesn't have to hold in tight - that's the job of the hand screw, just flush with the outer wall of the mount. One trick I would recommend when you use this mount is to follow this series of steps:1. Remove the base from the mount and screw it in place, where the camera is going to be located (using the 3 screws).2. Remove the head from the mount by loosening the hand screw as well as the hex screw and pulling the head out of the shaft3. Bolt the head of the mount onto the camera4. Bolt the shaft onto the base (pick the proper length by using different extensions)5. Now, mount the camera onto the shaft, position it to your liking and tighten both bolts that hold the head in place (hex bolt + hand bolt). This sequence prevents the need to have to rotate the camera multiple times in place in order to screw it onto the mount.Hope this helps! If it does, please let me know! Thanks! 5
