NOT RECOMMENDED! This item seems to be well built, but not well finished.The mounts I received were rusty inside the manufacturer's package.The parts for the mounts are packaged in several "zip-lock" type bags, and the bags are placed in a small box.The 90 degree threaded mount stems and associated parts have "dusty" rust inside the plastic bags.REVISED & DOWNGRADED 15 Apr 2016Amazon sent a replacement for my original rusty item. Well the second item arrived without a manufacturer's package, and instead all hardware was stuffed in an MP3 player box. Once again some of the hardware was rusty, but not all of it. I decided to try to combine parts from both orders to see if I would have enough non-rusty parts to use. I thought I might be able to get by, so I began to attach these mounts to my Definitive Technology speakers. I discovered the threads on these mounts are not properly cut. The threads are supposed to be 1/4 x 20, but they are so poorly cut, it is IMPOSSIBLE to securely mount the speaker - even with the lock nut.Thus I have downgraded my original review from 3 Star to 1 Star.I DO NOT recommend this item whatsoever.PS. Another reviewer asserts this item is a cheap knock-off to the OmniMount 10.0.IMHO these mounts seem to be well made, but poorly finished.I suspect these rusty parts will continue to rust when exposed to the air. 1Perfect Mount for the HTC Vive I bought these to use with the basestations on my HTC Vive and they work absolutely amazing. The build quality is perfect, the parts and screws it came with feel like they are made of sturdy material and it didn't take me hardly any time at all to put everything together with the direction included in the box. I'll definitely be purchasing from this company in the future if I need something like it again. 5Used with electrical box covers, works great I tend to rely on reviews for a lot of products, so thought I would share my experience...especially for those who are considering electrical box mounting options.My new house came pre-wired for surround with electrical boxes. I was looking at the articulating kits that are designed for electrical boxes, but at $35-$40 each, I didn't want to spend ~$150 just to buy four of them. Completely ridiculous! Instead, I went to a local hardware store, bought four black electrical box covers for ~$1 each, and two pairs of these VideoSecu mounts (less than $40 total for all parts). I lined up the top hole of this mount with the top hole of the electrical box cover, and drilled a hole in the box cover where the bottom hole of this mount was. Then I drilled another hole in the box cover about ~1 inch below that for the speaker wire. I then took a small block of wood (approx 2" x 2" x 2") and drove one of the included screws through the bottom hole of this mount, through the pre-drilled hole (that I made) in the box cover, and into the block of wood. I then simply mounted the whole thing to the electrical box using the screws that came with the electrical box cover (ie, putting the top screw through the top hole of this mount, through the box cover, and into the electrical box). It took me a bit longer than if I had bought one of those electrical box kits, and might not work for heavier speakers (mine are ~3 lbs each), but it saved me over $100, and looks great! (I uploaded a picture to the customer gallery. It's rotated 90 degrees, but you get the point). Use that organ between your ears and save a little dough! 5These had trouble holding the Polk Audio S10 surround speakers at 6lbs I opened the first box and secured it to my speaker, tighten the hex bolt down to see if it could hold my Polk Audio S10 (6 lb) speaker without bending under it s weight and the ball slipped and left scratch marks on the ball. The plastic that the ball is made of is not hard enough, in addition the gripping mechanism didn t seem to be well designed to hold the ball. With that said I decided to keep these and embraced the tilt/lean against the wall that the speakers did as this allowed them to point downward toward the listening area. If you're buying these thinking that they will hold 10lbs out from the wall without touching / leaning against the wall for support than you'll be disappointed. In the end they seem to work out. For the price you can't beat them, the others I found from Omnimount were double the price for just one mount. 4DO NOT BUY be careful. made in china. the ball separated from the stem in return sending my speaker to the ground. will not recommend this to everyone. 1Great Minimalist Solution for Sonos Play 1 Speakers After looking at all the large expensive ceiling mounts, I was happy to find these really simple inexpensive mounts to try on my Sonos Play 1 speakers. I have white speakers in the house, so I spray painted the mounts semi-gloss white (they came out great using standard Rust-oleum Semi-gloss Protective Enamel). I used the "L" shaped bolt to hang the speaker. The 1/4-20 thread is perfect and the wing is easy to tighten once you have the speaker positioned. Once the mount is all tightened, it seemed really quite sturdy. Note that I had solid backing to fasten the mount to; I'm not a big fan of plastic toggle bolts for something that has this kind of weight. 5Awesome little ceiling mounts!! I needed some ceiling mounts for my surround speakers and these worked perfectly. Comes with all the parts u need to mount on wall or from ceiling and also smaller male threaded adapters, which I needed for my Vizio speakers. Install was 5 minutes!! 5Perfect Sonos mounts I wasn't sure if these rather cheap mounts would work for my Sonos Play:1s, but they are perfect. They're small, inconspicuous, angles are very configurable, clamps are very tight and the mounts themselves feel solid and well made. A minor note - you can mount the Play:1s upside which gives you even more configuration options on the brackets.Since the Play:1's are quite heavy I was worried that they might dip or not be held tightly - that's not the case at all - you can really crank the clamp tightly, I wouldn't have any fear using them for my Play:3s. In the attached image it's not entirely clear, but the speaker is neither leaning on the wooden beam, nor is it leaning on the wall - it's tightened to the point of not moving.The box is quite small, but it really contains everything you need and a little more for good measure. Even the instructions are well written and easy to understand.Considering this is $15 for a pair or brackets and most alternatives are $30 - $50 each I have no trouble at all recommending these highly. 5Go-to solution for compact satellite speakers wall or ceiling mount I am a custom AV installer and have been installing audio/video systems for 15 years. These are my go-to bracket solution for satellite speakers of virtually any brand. Most recently I installed a Bose Acoustimass System with ceiling rear channels and wall fronts. The great thing about these is you can use the same mounts for ceiling or wall mount installations. They also come with two screw mount sizes so you can use different brands of speakers without them. Definitive, Bose, Polk, etc. Pretty much any micro-satellite type speaker is compatible with this bracket. See pictures for actual installation 5Overall I am happy with the mounts and would purchase again if needed I used these to mount two Polk OWM3 (4lbs each) as my rear speakers in a 5.1 setup. I did not use any of the wall anchors provided in the box. Instead, I purchased E-Z Ancor drywall anchors rated up to 75lbs each. I used two of these anchors per wall mount. The E-Z Ancor package comes with four wall anchors and four screws. The mount package does come with anchors, but they want you to secure into a wall stud, which I did not have any at the positions I wanted to use the mounts. The E-Z Ancor allowed me to attach the mounts to the wall securely.The only negative I had was the hex key provided did not fit the hex screw that tightens the mounts. Luckily I had a hex key that did fit. Otherwise I would have had to make an unexpected trip to the hardware store in order to tighten the mounts once the speaker was attached.Overall I am happy with the mounts and would purchase again if needed. Although I would only use the E-Z Ancors to secure them to the wall. 4
