Never a bad burn, durable, work well with inkjet I have gone through several boxes of these DVDs, making disks for myself and for other people. I have had excellent results, and I can't remember ever a defective disk or a bad burn. No one has ever reported a problem playing them. I burn them with an ordinary Dell computer at whatever speed it wants to use.They work perfectly in my HP inkjet (dye) printer. They take photos beautifully. I would rather have a glossy surface, but these are still beautiful.I also want my disks to last, so I did some crude tests.I put some data disks in the sun for 18 days and could detect no deterioration in the data, and no change in the check sum. That's not a great test, but it's a good start.The printed surface holds up very well to light. I exposed the printed surfaces to daylight (including direct sunlight) for 70 days in a car window, to see if the ink would fade. With HP ink I observed virtually no fading. With another brand of ink I observed only a little fading. I did not check them for exposure to fluorescent lights, however, so I make no guarantees.UPDATE June, 2017: I've been using these (same product number, 94812) almost exclusively since 2011. I have burned hundreds, and have never experienced any data loss that I know of. (I don't check them systematically, but I do occasionally play many of them, with no problem.) I have still never had a bad burn. My last purchase was April, 2014, and they were fine. 5Last few orders have had 80% unusable disks They were good for the first half of last year, recently, the last 2 batches that we purchased, 80% of the DVDs were unusable, working for a pro video company this really sucks.Pros: The print quality on the white side is great, and the DVDs when they work are greatCons: Be careful not to get a bad batch of DVDs (Not that you can control it), otherwise you will spend hours finding a DVD that works. Very disappointing as we really like the quality of the DVDs when they do work.Hope this review is seen by the company and they improve. 1Why get off brand media when Verbatim is affordable too. I always want to get Verbatim if I get it at a good price because I never get a coaster when burning them. I use two different Pioneer burner's and an HP and I always with consistent results. The Printable side produce good images on my Canon MG7720 printer. 5Beautiful Custom DVD's I've used about 6 of these, and all have been great. The quality of the label surface and the disc itself has been awesome.I like the "printable hub" feature that prints almost everything except the center hole. It is a matte finish, but the printed DVD's look nice.I had been using Lightscribe or stick-on labels, but the ability to print custom labels that don't peel off is a wonderful improvement. 5Reliable, Consistent I've burned about 12 of these already from my Ubuntu Linux PC, using an internal LG BlueRay/DVD burner. No coasters. Every disc burned right the first time, and plays in my Oppo BDP-83 disc player. And they print nicely on my Epson R800.It's great to find reliable, consistent blanks that are inexpensive. 5Very Good Product Overall I have found the Verbatim DataLifePlus DVDs to be about the best DVDs available. Even though I occasionally see what looks like a tiny nick or defect in the media (which I have found to be common among all brands for DVD's and CDs near the top or bottom of the stack), I still rarely get a bad burn, and I do a verify on all the discs that I burn. These DVDs are certainly not the least expensive ones available, but they're worth it. One reason the quality of this media is better than most is that the product is made in Taiwan, rather than China. I personally avoid products that are made in China as much as possible, and will continue to do so until they learn to make quality control a priority.I tried using cheaper media, like RiDATA, but I was getting bad burns more than 20% percent of the time, and the cheaper media often wouldn't give me good burns at the maximum burn rate advertised by the media manufacturer. My burner is one of the major brands too known for quality. When it comes to burning DVDs and CDs, you will get the fewest bad burns if both the media and the burner are well known name brands (and both manufacturers have a reputation for making good products). Also, make sure that the firmware in your burner is the latest version. The firmware in DVD burners is always updated by reputable manufacturers when there are bugs or reliability issues that have surfaced. If you settle for the cheapest media and the cheapest burner you can get, you're just asking for headaches. Who needs that kind of frustration, wasted time, and wasted expense caused by inferior products? 5Beware 4.7 GB is not true, closer to 4.3 GB The capacity of these disks is not 4.7GB as claimed but just less than 4.4GB and this gave me fits with my project. I had reduced my file size to 4.4GB and had no problem burning a Verbatim DVD that one cannot print on the front surface. When I tried the burn these files to the Verbatim Inkjet Printable DVR+R white disks, I received the message file size too big. So, the capacity of the printable DVDs is obviously not what Verbatim claims. I had to trim the 3 videos I wanted on the disks by a few seconds each to get then the fit in the 4.3GB space allowed by the printable DVDs.The printing looks very good. I used a Canon Pro-100 to do the printing on the disks. 3Fantastic! Make sure that you set the dimensions of the disc correctly on your disc label software. The look on the discs come out very matte meaning that they don't shine. But the look is very good for the price. I'm expanding my videography business with created disc labels. With the disc, a plastic case, and printer ink; I can make a deliverable disc that looks nice and had my business logo on it for $1.50 and sell the disc for $10 or $20. 5a junk product I bought a pack of 50 i needed to make 10 DVDs out of the first 9 i pulled out of the pack 4 of them were bad and had to be thrown away. so it took 14 discs to get my 10. i expect the rest of the pack will go the same i will never buy this brand again and would tell others to do the same. they were not even the cheapest ones on the market, they were mid price but not worth the money. 1Verbatim is all I Use! All my recordable except my BD-R's are Verbatim. NO COASTERS! The reason why I don't buy Verbatim BD-R's is they are way too expensive. Amazon carries a great like of BD-R's at a much better price. But for CD and DVD's, Verbatim is the way to go IMHO! 5
