Highest quality I've been using Verbatim media going back to the 70's. I don't have as much experience with Verbatim blu-ray as with other media, but have no reason to think the quality is any less. Offhand I can't recall the last time I burned a coaster with Verbatim, although of course that can always happen on occasion for one reason or another. IMO you can't go wrong with Verbatim. 5works fine if you use the right software!Of the 5 discs that I've burned 1 failed because I used a poor choice of software (the built in windows 10 burner) and 1 failed because it simply felt like failing... all 5 discs were to contain personal data and were burned as data formatted discs then finalized... If I were to buy again I would also look for a faster disc/burner combo because 6x speed translated to (going by what I remember) about 15 megabytes a second... Note that I said bytes not bits... but it still took longer than I had hoped and copying all 20+ gigs per disc times two took a decent chunk out of my day (the other was smaller and thus faster).... You may be thinking "why buy this?" well because unlike flash drives and SD cards that sit in a drawer for a year before you forget whats on them or you write over them or worse you drop the microSD down between the boards of a wood floor... Discs such as these can be placed in protective holders and stored for 20+ years before the data goes bad. There are plenty of music CDs produced in the 1980s that still play fine today so these blurays are expected to still read their data in the 2050s...4They Worked For Me.....I got these to have a few disks on hand that would give me larger capacity than the 4 gig DVDs I normally use. Being this was my first use of Blu-Ray type black disks, I was a bit surprised by the feel of these disks. What I mean by that is these disk feel heavier and more solid than the DVD disks I'm used to. For people that use a Blu-Ray burner a lot that might not mean anything but to me the disks felt better than standard DVD+RWs like I normally use. I tested one of these under Windows 10 and used it just like I had my DVDs and CDs and it burned off the items I wanted using the Windows File Manager to copy them and then selecting "burn" from Explorer's drive menu. It burned the disk off without a problem or any error notices. I ejected the disk and put it back in and was able to read it with a problem. Seems like a really sold disk to me.5Quality. The scratch coating on these makes them impervious to scratches. I've taken keys to them just to see if the scratch resistance was as good as advertised. It's better than I could have expected. After going at them with keys, a few rubs on my shirt, and you can't even tell the disc has been touched. If you're getting bad burns with these, you either got the LTH version or you need a new burner. I've burned over 300 of these and have yet to have a bad burn. Shelf life is supposed to be 25 years, compared to 3-5 years for DVD+R. 23.3GB of space on data disc. Best media for archiving. There's no need to shop around anymore. The label says 6X, but the label product number is for 16X. Go figure. When I was sent a replacement it, too, was 6X. Amazon did me well and I kept the replacement 6X media (sent the original back) and have already used four discs, which wrote and worked perfectly, which is what I'm used to with Verbatim disc media.I hope that Amazon gets the discrepancy straightened out (6X vs 16X), but if I needed more BD-R discs I would buy it again, even knowing that 6X is what I might get. To me, Blank Media is very much "You get what you pay for" and SONY and Verbatim are the only optical media I will buy. Some things of note though: 1) it's really closer to 23GB of free space when you burn these, due to binary counting. 2) Many people talk of coasters but sometimes if you burn them at the highest speed your software can burn, that will make them more prone to burn errors. Therefore I generally burn at a slower speed and I probably have a 99% success rate as a result.In closing, highly recommend!5Disc ID: VERBAT-IMe-000 Good stuff made by VerbatimThe Disc ID on these discs is VERBAT-IMe-000. That means Verbatim themselves actually made these discs. They did NOT farm these out to CMC, the worst optical media manufacturer. Verbatim often farms out to CMC. Their CD-R's, their Life series DVD-R and DVD+R, and their BD-RE are CMC. CMC DVD recordable media fail to burn 50% of the time. Of those that do burn, they fail about 50% of the time to pass a verify of burnt data. Of those that do verify, 50% of them are not recognized as playable in a stand alone player.The DID on these discs is the same as in the 10 packs and in the 25 packs. I've been using those for almost 3 years now and I've yet to have one that failed to burn or failed to verify.5Great Storage Value, Hoping they Last!Purchased a Blu Ray burner shortly before picking these up with the intention of using these as a redundant backup solution. So far so good: all 10 were able to format as essentially USBs (I don t intend on redistributing them or anything) and only having to pay about $1/25GB is an insane deal. Of course this is offset by the cost of my Blu Ray burner but even then I d say it s well worth it. Of course the real question mark about these is if they will last and continue to hold their data years from now. Needless to say I won t know until it happens but if these do fail way earlier than expected I ll update this review. Until then most of the other reviews here seem pretty positive aside from what seems to be a handful of cases of disk failure. But only one way to find out, and again as a reminder: REDUNDANCY. Always have more than one backup!5Great Value Spent a lot of time and money trying to perfect my burning technique in order to create a wedding video for a client. Bought several discs from different companies, and paid a premium for them. None of them worked when I played them in my Xbox One or PS4, and I used several programs.I bought a spindle and burned several more. Though they didn't work in any of my game systems, they did work in a standalone Blu-Ray player. My rating is based on the fact I was able to send my clients their videos, and they weren't as pricey as the rest of the discs I bought. 5Burned a dozen so far, only misburn was my own faultBurning discs with a Pioneer BDR-XD05 external USB drive (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IEX9KNI) and with a UJ272 9.5mm (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GSXXN3W) internal laptop SATA drive. Only misburn was with the Pioneer, and it was most likely caused by my attempting to move the laptop off my lap and over to the sidetable that the drive was sitting on. Otherwise all other burns (Debian Linux and Devuan Linux using Xfburn) have been fine.I bought the media to archive photos, RAW 24 megapixel images eat up space fast and I wanted an offline backup to sore offsite. They appear to fit the bill.55 Year StorageThese are great for short term storage/backup, but beyond that they are worthless. I keep written disc's in the spindle they were packaged in, inside a house, away from sunlight, and they did not last 5 years. I just tried to look at a disc labeled 'July 2014', and it could not be read. The write surface looks like someone spilled solvent on it and has a cool pattern, and do not look like the surface of a new one or one from 2018.1Blu-ray + hard drive storage. The 25GB Verbatim 6X Blu-ray disks are part of my standard hard disk + Blu-ray business backup routine. I've been burning these disks for years using the freeware ImgBurn on various Win machines. I've never had a coaster after 100+ Blu-rays. I'm a photojournalist and file the disks with the paperwork for long term storage, but use external hard dives for quick access.CD disks are too low capacity and degrade over time. DVD disks are better, but still too low capacity. Blu-ray disks are fairly permanent, compact, relatively inexpensive and easy to burn. Five stars. 5
