Easy to install. Blindingly bright in the middle of the night. The Pros: Easy to install. Comes with everything you will ever need to install in a variety of places, and includes some cable management tools to help it look less messy.The brains of the product will let you change between 30 seconds of light or up to 6 minutes of light.The Cons: The sensor is very sensitive. the cable from my wife's iphone charger set it off. If I extend my arm beyond the bed by about a foot, it picks it up and turns the light on. This may be due to where the sensor is placed on my bed, but due to the way my bed is set up, I can't put it anywhere else right now.The lights are super bright. I'm honestly surprised this hasn't come up in reviews. It lights up the whole room when one side comes on. I squint from the brightness in the middle of the night if I get out of bed. so much so, that on the first night I unplugged the lights because they were so bright.I started with the lights facing the floor and it was too bright. So I switched them to where the lights were shining inward toward the underside of the bed and it is still really bright. I may try the coloring over the strip with a dry erase/highlighter or something like this, but right now, neither my wife or I leaves them plugged in because they are so bright. 3This one I've put in our walk-in closet so when I come into the bedroom after my wife is asleep I can change into my PJs w/o waking her by turning on the overhead lights which light up a good portion of the bedroom as well as the walk-in ... This is the second one of these I bought. The first one we use in the garage to automatically light our way up the steps when returning home after dark. They work very well and mount very easily. I really like that you can adjust the amount of the time the light stays on after it's last detection of motion. I have it mounted so that as soon as I enter the closet it turns on but will remain on while I change, where I'm out of the sensor area. 5Love it already Love it already. Set it up in my bathroom, as I was tired of waking up in the middle of the nigh in pitch black, standing up trying to estimate where my bathroom door was (smacked the wall every single time)The sensor is the perfect level of sensitivity, as well...doesn't turn on from me rolling around in bed, but as soon as I get up and start walking towards the bathroom, it activates.A heads up, though (and why it earned a star loss)...these are NOT "warm light" as described. They are your typical, white LED light. It's easily solved, though and the only reason for the star loss is false advertising...at first I was like "crap, now I have to go buy a warm colored cover for it." Then I realized that I had a light orange dry erase marker, and the light was definitely bright enough to shine through the ink...so I colored the strip orange, and voila -- a very comfortable warm light . 4Very cool. Light is very bright though, and white instead of yellow as in pictures. I was going to apply this under my bed, but realized that the motion detector won't activate all the times I'd want it to, so I ended up putting in my closet. Works great, easy to install. The plug is a usb adapter that you put in the wall socket and then the usb cord from the motion detector goes in that to get power. The motion detector also has a slot for the strip of lights. The motion detector has a pretty good field of view, I'd guess 160-170 degrees. I have it placed slightly above my floor near the entrance to the room. It's low enough it won't turn on when I toss and turn in bed, but will if I walk in the room or get out of the bed. I'd say it's 6ft away from me and activates regularly.You definitely want to do some test runs with the light. Put everything where you think you'll want it, then turn off the lights (it won't turn on if light is shining on the sensor which is great), and move around like you normally do to see if it activates when you want it to. You also probably don't want the direct light shining, it's very bright, so put it under something or behind something to get more of a 'glow'.It comes with the usb power adapter, the usb cord, sensor and light strip, a 3M 2 sided sticky circle to put the sensor on your wall/vertical surface, and then 2 little plastic things with sticky tape to hold the cords. One holds the usb cord off the ground and the other has two prongs so it can hold the extra strip power-cord while it's wound up. The light strip has sticky tape on it already, the backing (non-sticky covering) always gives me trouble, and then it comes with some additional 2 sided sticky strip, I'd assume if you want to place the light strip in a different spot at a later time. If I remember, I'll try to edit this later with some pictures.I like the product, and although it's a bit more than I'd like to pay, I'm happy with it and would recommend. 4Fire Hazard If you want a fire, consider this product. See photo. This occurred less than three weeks after purchase. Note the hole burned in the light sensor unit from the inside out. 1Perfect light these lights have a motion sensor attached via the wire that you can place in a easy to reach spot even if the lights are under the bed. We set this up with the lights being under the bed and the sensor on the edge of the fllorboard of the bedframe. the sensor can be adjusted to keep the lights on from 30 seconds to 6 minutes. very easy to install and really looks great when activated. gives a glowing white light that is more of a soft bright than just a powerful white light. had some reservations about buying this, once we installed it - turned out way better than i hoped for 5Great support. Great product. Ordered 3 units on 3 different occasions. Happy enough with the first unit to order a two more for guest bedrooms. First unit ordered works great and continues to do so 2+ years out.Either the 2nd or 3rd unit (ordered around the same time) failed after a few months of infrequent use. Swapping around parts allowed me to ID the faulty part which was the motion detector. Contacted Vanskytek support and explained the issue. Though it was probably out of the official warranty period they responded quickly and shipped me out a new unit right away at no charge. Less than a week passed between my original email to them and receipt of the replacement unit.The replacement unit works great and is actually a better model. Don't know if all models now shipping will match my upgraded unit or if this is just a better version that might sell for more: new unit has different plug sizes on the motion detector so that you couldn't accidentally plug the power into the socket for the lights and vice versa. It also has a dimmer knob so that the brightness level of the LEDs can be reduced. On the original unit the lights are quite bright.. in a pitch black bedroom after your eyes have adjusted to the darkness during sleep.These are inexpensive and do the job quite well. Especially if you have pets who like to hang around your bedside at night and get stepped on once in awhile when you get up in the dark. Also nice to avoid tripping on things or bumping into things at night even if you don't have pets.Highly recommended product and outstanding support. Would buy again! 5Great little lighting product! get one for your bed! Works as promised. Only complaint? LEDs not as warm white as they should be for bedroom at night. Color temp is a bit cooler than I like, but overall, works and is very nice to have. The sensor is the key to this, and so far, does exactly what I wanted it to do. 5Functions as described but it's a bit on the bright ... Functions as described but it's a bit on the bright side. We have not permanently mounted the light strip yet. We're having trouble finding a suitable location to mount the sensor. We have a new puppy and I was worried she'd chew at the light strip or sensor if we mounted it under the bed rail. Silly me. She quickly learned that she can turn the light on - so she does - over and over and over again. As soon as it goes off she likes to jump off the bed and turn it back on again. Teaching her to sit and stay has so far been only moderately successful but she's got the turn the light on thing down pat.At the 10 seconds on setting, ours stays on for a full 3 minutes. I've never been to China before but I thought 10 seconds was the same no matter where you are.I deducted 1 star because of the annoyingly huge margin of error in the time on setting at the low end and the fact that it's way brighter than what is shown in the picture. Oh, it's bright white, not the soft yellow shown. 4Couldn't live without these now that I have them I never knew I needed these until I bought them. I have them installed on either side of the bed and they are magical when you have to pee in the middle of the night. There are a few issues:1) A bed skirt will completely negate them if you have the sensors placed too high. Place them as close to the floor as possible.2) It is not completely clear which power plug goes where. When I originally installed them, they weren't working and I realized that I had plugged the wrong adapters into the wrong sides. This is because they are identical and the instructions are unclear. Once I figured it out, all was well.I don't think I could live without these now that I have them. Just make sure you place them right the first time, as the sticker isn't going to let you move them later. 5
