Customer Reviews

Nice but REALLY long ... Comfortable strong Neoprene strap around the neck. Pockets are a nice idea but I don't know what I'll use them for. The straps that connect the Neoprene to the camera are thinner than the equivalent ones you get with a Canon camera - but probably strong enough. The TrueShot Camera Strap is very long which makes the camera hang very low compared to the hanging height of other straps. I'm 6'2" tall and the highest I could adjust the strap left the camera hanging just above my waist. I liked the strap enough that I shortened the length of the Neoprene portion by sewing a fold in the one end of the Neoprene and cut 9" off of both ends of the nylon strap ends (18" total). Now the camera hangs at a height similar to the picture in the Amazon listing. The good news is that it was inexpensive enough that I'm not worried about returning it or any warranty. 3The pouches are nice, big enough for batteries for a Canon T5 ... Bought this specifically for when I knew I would be carrying my camera around for extended periods of time. The pouches are nice, big enough for batteries for a Canon T5 but not for the batteries for something like a Canon 5D mk iii. Convenient for sliding an SD card (in the thin clear plastic case you tend to get with them) into the slots near the pouches, and seems tight enough that I'm not worried about it coming loose. The stretch of the material makes the strap comfortable for bearing the weight of the camera, however, I wouldn't describe the material as "breathable". I found myself having to move the strap around to avoid getting too sweaty in one spot under the strap. I will be avoiding using this strap in the warmer months for this reason. 4Buy two for twice the price! why have one when you can own two twice the price...and that is exactly what I did; I fell in love this this guy, so much that within the hour of receiving my first one, I bought a second one for both of my camera bodies.Why:(1) I don't want to be a target and advertise what camera I have... I am a frequent traveler and I'd like to keep a low-profile... often I have the latest camera... and wearing a strap that flags you as a target is not my idea of being circumspect.(2) Utility(a) Snap On/Snap Offyeap, that cool, very easy to snap on and snap off, very convenient when setting up on a tripod or when doubling as my main telescope image... that strap can really get in your way... I used to have to spend time taking off and putting back on... NO MORE :-)(b) Safety/QualityJust as I was looking at the other options, including ones that had a plastic doo-hickee that "screws" on to where the tripod adapter is... my thoughts were... "hmm... single point of failure. And sure enough next day a colleague told me his strap broke sending is DXXX to the floor.. auch... this Strap is securely latches/laces around the two METAL-Loop holders on BOTH sides of the camera... MUCH MORE SECURELY... additionally, I used the generous slack to make another pass through the loop... making it triple secure :-)(c) dual pocketsWow... perfectly fits my NIKON battery, and the other pocket I keep two spare SD cards - HOW convenient!!!!(d) comfort. The material is awesome, it feels softer yet secure around my shoulder neck; my own Nikon straps usually were uncomfortable when I was not wearing a collar shirt.(3) Overall Value:Don't tell this guys selling the stuff, but wow, value... can't beat it... I would pay a premium for this... can't beat the offer.finallywowPS: No I am not related to the seller, nor am I being compensated for writing this review... I am actually very very particular... if something is good/good-enough I don't comment... but in this case... it is deserving a favorable review! 5You may lose your gear with this junk No time to read the whole review? Read this: this strap is junk.I've gone through many straps in my time but this one must be one of the more flimsy ones. Hey, my fault - what did I expect for the price, right? First off, the strap length is NOT adjustable. That's right, whatever length it is, that's what it is. Tall guy? Your camera will hang below your chin. Fat guy? Same.Except the neoprene is so darn stretchy, if your camera plus lenses weigh more than a few ounces, that strap will make sure to stretch itself out all the way to your mid-section, you know the part that's constantly in motion when you walk? Enjoy your camera hitting your gut all day long. I had no confidence in this strap at all.Let's stay with the topic of camera weight. This strap can't handle any. It's fine for a point and shoot, or maybe a light mirrorless camera with plastic kit lens. Anything beyond that is asking for trouble. I hooked this strap up to a Sony A7II (body itself is not heavy compared to, say, a Canon 5D MK IV), plus a reasonably heavy Canon 24-70 L lens, with the Sigma MC-11 adapter to connect Canon EF lenses with Sony's FE mount (Amazon ASIN number B01C7A3W7S . It's good) . All together, this is not a light set up but also not unreasonably heavy. It's a great combo for portraits and this weight combo should not be a problem for a decent strap. Well, I pulled on the camera/lens slightly and the strap's stitching tore. Not kidding, look at the photos. The strap rings meant to attach to a camera's strap loops are so thin and flimsy, they really only work for point and shoots. As a test, I connected those around the A7II's strap hooks, pulled a little, and sure enough the loop completely bent out of shape. The only surprise was how MUCH they bent - see the pics. In real world situations this means that you run a real risk of dropping your gear if you use these metal loops on anything but the lightest cameras. If you still insist on buying this strap, make sure you use the actual straps, NOT the loops. They're no better than the default strap your camera probably came with. However, they are part of a quick-release system, which is nice and necessary for anyone who doesn't want to work with a strap attached at all times.A final word about the velcro pockets: good idea, badly executed. As another reviewer stated, they simply don't stay shut. That's because the velcro itself is of poor quality, and there simply isn't enough of it. Look at the photos and you'll see that the width of the velcro area is only about half of the width of the strap. As the other reviewer stated, the pockets on this strap do indeed not stay shut unless the pockets are completely empty (which defeats the purpose, no?), so at some point you're likely to lose the SD card or battery or whatever else you want to put in. I wouldn't trust these pockets with anything. In my opinion this strap is only good for people with very light cameras and who value a strap's design pattern over its reliability and quality. Anyone who uses DSLRs or mirrorless cameras with heavy lenses really should stay away from this one. 2Great Quality at a Low Cost I was surprised by the quality of what I received. It's durable, the straps are thick, and seems very shock-absorbent. I went on a 1.5 hour long walk with a pitbull pulling me on a leash, and I had no issues with neck pain from all the movement I was doing. The length of the strap itself was perfect, but I did have to adjust the straps to it's smallest size to sit comfortably on my chest (I don't like it too low so when I'm bending/squatting it's touching the ground). The colors are awesome! Very vibrant, a little more orange than I thought it would be, but overall I love it. I haven't had a chance to use the pockets yet but they seem like they could hold a lot of things (there's also hidden pockets right above the closable pocket, so technically there are 4 places you can hold things). 5Perfect for my Lumix FZ1000 I wasn't satisfied with the strap that came with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000 so I began my search for a new strap. I first ordered a sling strap. After researching videos on how these straps work, I didn't really like how the sling straps uses the tripod screw underneath the camera so I went ahead and canceled that order. I guess the best option for me was a neck strap and this seems to fit my needs. The material is very comfortable, it made my camera feel lighter, and I like the flexible pockets on each side. I could fit an extra battery one side while putting the lense cap on the other.I'm not sure if there's a proper way or a proper length on how long the straps should be but I decided to cut like an inch or two of excess strap. If you look at the first picture, that's kinda how long I made my strap then I just cut off the excess so it's not dangling around. So everything now is nice and clean and the straps are nicely snug and secures my camera. It's still long enough so I could also put it across my shoulders like a sling strap. It's very versatile. Even though it takes only a minute longer to put in my compact camera bag, the strap is flexible enough that I could squeeze it in there. Only time I'll probably use that bag is for transporting, so I could leave that bag in the car while this strap could carry what I need. Also I like this neck strap because I could still wear my compact backpack at the same time. Great purchase. 5... this will be a critical review but not all bad. I found the strap to be long enough ... Now I have to admit that I am a little mad so this will be a critical review but not all bad. I found the strap to be long enough to sling over my neck and shoulder which is my preference. The strap is wide enough and soft enough not to dig in anywhere too so it is comfortable. The only reason I bought the strap was the pockets for batteries and cards and cleaning cloths or whatever you need without having to carry these items in your pants, shirt or jacket pockets. It was the main differentiation from all the other straps out there. I thought 'how cool to have the spare stuff right there on the strap where the camera is!' that's handy. When I got the strap I was dismayed to find that the pocket flaps are fastened with a weak and puffy form of Velcro. It did not feel solid. They were easily disturbed and opened. Well sure enough, the third time out I noticed a battery missing. The pocket had opened somehow in my jangling around whether in the car or during my hike or as I was walking around, I don't care. It should not BE ABLE to open - period. These pockets need a stout stainless snap, not a cheap patch of Velcro. So the strap has cost me more than I paid for it and I cannot recommend it to anyone. If they ever incorporate snaps to close the pockets, I would buy another one but I sure can't trust these pockets. So now it is just another strap**** Upgraded to a 4 StarAfter my two star review complaining about the pockets, the seller, Accessory Power contacted my a few times and showed a lot of follow up to see if there was in fact anything defective in the product and truthfully there was not. They were very helpful and responsive and I am sure that if there was something defective in the product, they would certainly seem like a group that would bend over backwards to fix it but in this case I simply have a complaint about the design of the product; using Velcro to fasten the pockets versus snaps. My wife's opinion was that the Velcro was just fine and I just have to make sure they are closed properly, but I still maintain that snaps would be more secure. I am upgrading the product because the company really stepped up and paid attention and responded. 4Except for one thing (and this may be personal) I like this strap -- so much that I've just bought my third one, and not because previous ones failed, but because I added another camera body. I can't address problems people have with wearing cameras around their necks because I never do that -- I either wear it cross-body or on my shoulder. IMHO there's no way to avoid neck strain wearing a camera around your neck. Nor have I ever had a problem losing memory cards or batteries, though I don't go into the wilds of Africa or anything. I do have one suggestion for the manufacturers: The quick release buckles have both female parts on th neck strap and both male parts on the camera attachments (is that clear?). If you put one female and one male on the neck strap portion, I could disconnect the strap from the camera when it's on a tripod and get it out of the way, fastening the two ends together. The camera ends also could fasten together, getting them out of the way as well. It doesn't require a re-tooling, just a shift in how you sew the connectors on, but it would make a vast difference in convenience for the photographer. And that's the reason for four, instead of five, stars. 4This strap was excellent for my bulky camera I bought this strap for use with my Nikon F4.The F4 is a big, heavy camera, so I needed something with a lot of padding. This strap was excellent for my bulky camera.Unless you really tighten up the straps, your camera will hang pretty low. I didn't mid that for the F4 as I could keep it close to my hand even when slung over my shoulder. If you want a strap for wearing across your body, this might work, though the strap may pull or get caught on your shirt or jacket. The clasps on both sides felt very secure, though they are easy enough to detach so you can just set up your camera on a tripod, for example, without the strap getting in the way. There are pockets on both ends of the strap, big enough for a spare SD card, but not big enough for an extra roll of film, alas. I didn't use them, but they aren't a drawback either. Some users may find the strap to be a little too "springy" but again, i liked that it helped to counteract the heavy tug of the F4. If you have a smaller camera or like to have it rest at about chest level (especially if you are a physically smaller person), this strap is not for you due to the straps length. But as far as supporting the camera comfortably, I could not be happier with this affordable purchase. 5So comfy and cute! I am in love with this strap! I have been on the look for a nice simple strap with quick release as well as a simple design. I ordered this for my Canon Rebel XSI. I love how there are a total of 4 pockets. I plan on using these for extra SD cards and my lens caps. They fit really snug in there. No chance of them falling out. I love the material, it's super comfy and soft! The color is super nice as well!! The edges are not scratchy like the original strap that came with my camera. I would definately repurchase in more colors/designs! Thank you son much!!! 5
