    It works... No more messy cables! Great little adapter. I'm now cable free in my truck when it comes to music! My 2012 Frontier has bluetooth but only for the phone, sorry no music streaming. There is an aux input and 12v socket fairly close together. I plugged a mini dual usb socket, then the Firefly. It plugs directly into the usb port and the other side into the 3.5mm aux. (It runs off the usb so no batteries to charge or replace ever!) A quick pairing and was done. Took longer to get the package open then to start streaming music!Now as soon as I start the truck, it automatically pairs up with my phone. A little white led on the Firefly lights up letting you know it's working. If you get a call while streaming, it stops streaming and switches over so I can still answer the phone thru the trucks factory bluetooth. I don't know how it knows, or how it works, but it does. (Some kind of sorcery? Probably... or maybe the phone does it.) Quality is very clear, sounds really good, no issues.Most importantly... No more messy cables everywhere! It really is a clean looking set-up. See pic. Seems well made, it feels solid and durable, doesn't feel cheap. Priced well for what it is. Superb product and very happy overall. Also it can be paired with more than one phone so other passengers can be the DJ on a long trip. Tunai also makes a home version. It looks like that one uses red/white RCA cables instead of a 3.5mm jack. I'll be ordering that version very soon! 5Pefect for my needs! Put one in all my and my kids cars. Absolutely an amazing device. I have a 2007 Infiniti that has built in Bluetooth but only for phone calls. For years I had been using an audio cable for music but the kids kept breaking it. My car has RCA connectors in the arm rest and the RCA to mini stereo cables were cheap but now are getting pretty expensive to replace 3 to 4 times a year. The Firefly is perfect for my needs. I bought the home stereo version to get the RCA plugs. The Firefly pairs well with my Android based phone (LG G6) and all of my kid s phones. They have all types of phones both Apple and Android based and none have any problems. What I like best is that phone calls still use the built-in car Bluetooth and the music uses the Firefly automatically. The phone manages both connections well. I did have a problem in which Google Maps was very loud compared to the music, but that was easily fixed by going in to Google Maps Settings and changing the Voice to Soft . The only con is minor, there is a slight whistle noise that can be heard when music is not playing I believe due to feedback. I bought a Ground Loop Noise Isolator at the same time when I bought the Firefly from reading the other reviews, but I have not tried it yet since the whistle noise is so low at this point. I highly recommend the Firefly!Update: Worked for only 2 months. Only plays one channel now.Update 2: Seller sent me a new Firefly out of the blue to replace my non-functional one. Love it and bought one for each of our family's cars. 5Works Well! So far I'm really liking this little adapter. As others have mentioned, it is one of the few on the market to support the AAC codec, making it the best choice for iPhone users (audio quality will be better than other adapters.) Truthfully, the codec probably doesn't matter if your car has the stock sound system, but if you have an upgraded speaker system like I do, buying a bluetooth adapter without AAC support for use with an iPhone would be like buying an HDTV without HD cable service.Pairing with the device was easy; it immediately showed up in the list of available bluetooth devices. It also plays nice with the bluetooth hands-free system that is built into my car (2011 Toyota Prius.) When a call comes in, the music fades out and the car's built-in mic is used for the call. When the call ends, the music automatically resumes via the Firefly.When starting up the car, the device is supposed to automatically connect to the last-used phone. In reality, I've found that this only happens a bit more than half of the time. It's easy to resolve: you just have to reselect the Firefly from your phone's bluetooth settings. But it slightly destroys the elegance of what would otherwise be a 5-star product.Overall, I would definitely recommend this product. 4Perfect BT audio solution for Fiat 500 and similar FIREFLY SHOULD BE STANDARD ISSUE WITH EVERY FIAT 500.I love when a product works right and as hoped. A small pet peeve of mine, since buying my Fiat 500 (which I otherwise love), has been the inability to connect media via Bluetooth... Until now! Well hidden in the glovebox, it works flawlessly, like BT is supposed to work with every new car. This should be standard equipment with every Fiat 500 and similar stereos that allow BT connection for phone calls but not media (music, gps, etc.). Be aware that this product derives all is power from the usb port and does not hold a charge at all. Other products have a rechargable battery and an on/off switch, in my case requiring opening the glovebox each time to turn the little unit on, very annoying and not very "oem"-like.Setup took literally seconds, a complete no brainer.The Firefly turns on/off with the ignition and automatically connects. It ONLY uses the media protocal, my car only connects to the phone protocal, so they start up and work simultaneously. You don't have to do anything, just start the car and both are connected. Make phone calls through the car like normal, play music or gps (Google) map directions like normal, everything comes through the stereo controls like the car and BT integration are meant to work.The previous unit I mentioned above was less money, but had wires and the need to switch it on/off was unnecessarily annoying. The Firefly is sleek, discreet and works with the cars BT exactly the way it should.All this wouldn't mean anything if the sound quality suffered. But I couldn't be more pleased, I think the sound quality is exceptional, highs are high and lows are low the way they should be. I do not have any of the distortion or electrical humming that I've read in other reviews. But it is critical that the 3.5mm Jack is fully inserted into the input or this is a common problem with every stereo system.This review written by a very ordinary person, that paid full price for the product but was very satisfied.Hope this review helps fellow Fiat 500 owners. 5Hissing and Humming I needed a cleaner setup to stream music to my 2009 Honda Civic from my smartphone. Since my Civic has an aux-in jack, the Firefly seemed like that ideal device.For the first couple weeks of use, it was indeed an ideal solution. The sound emanating from this USB Bluetooth dongle was crisp and loud. It connected to my phone as soon as the car started.Unfortunately on unexplained occasions, the Firefly would cut out one stereo channel and replace it with intolerable hissing and humming. I tried resetting the USB dongle to resolve this issue to no avail. At times, setting the transmission to park would fix this issue but this solution was inconsistent and impractical. I purchased a ground loop isolator but it did not help.I ended up replacing the Firefly with an Anker Bluetooth adapter which, despite being less elegant with it's unsightly cables, has been much more reliable. 2works sporadically when paired with a phone and connected to Aux in the car. I could hear a background whistling/hissing noise when music wasn't playing. Solved that issue by connecting a noise suppressor. This Bluetooth device would remain paired with a phone, however, often times would not automatically pipe the music from the phone to the car stereo system. The resolution was to either unpair and then again pair the device with the phone or disconnect its power supply by pulling it out of the car power adapter, put it back in to reestablish power and......presto, reconnected and audio coming through the car stereo system. But that was too much work for my taste, so back it went to Amazon. 1Pricey you think? Think again. So simple and all you need! What can i say.. a small self (no batteries) powered Bluetooth, that automatically connects to your phone? Yes I ll take one. I didn t need any calling features or abilities, i didn t need any other extra controls to control songs I d never use. I didn t need to stick anything on my dash that i know would be in the floorboard once the adhesive broke down..I just needed a powered Bluetooth to stay in my car that i wouldn t have to charge or plug in constantly or worry about batteries decaying in the various extreme temps while staying in my car during winters and summers. If this is you, then you have to have one. 1) open box 2)Plug it in, 3)open your Bluetooth on your device 4) click the firefly under found devices and bam! done. That simple. 5This is THE bluetooth receiver to buy for streaming music. Save your time and trust me! I researched for countless hours for a bluetooth receiver to use in my 2005 BMW 3 series. Some wouldn't automatically turn on when the ignition turned on (requiring a manual click of the power button every single time you entered the car) and others would lag for 3+ minutes. This FireFly is absolutely wonderful! It automatically connects right away as I enter the car and requires no manual power switch. This was KEY for me, because I would hate to manually turn this thing on every singe time I entered my car.The sound quality on this little thing is VERY GOOD for a bluetooth receiver. There aren't any noticeable harsh noises or feedback, just clear sounding music. I have tried many other bluetooth receivers and they either sounded tinny or weak, not the FireFly. I wouldn't say that it's as good as a traditional AUX cable, but it's pretty darn close. I tested it back and forth with the same songs between an AUX cable and the FireFly, and I would conclude that it's 1 step under an AUX cable in sound quality, where as other bluetooth receivers would be 3 or 4 steps down from an AUX cable. I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of quality for ease of use and no cable.I installed it in my glove box and I've had no connection issues at all. The connection is always FAST and ready to go, which makes it absolutely perfect.There are some drawbacks that I noticed. You can't answer calls with it and the included USB car charger wasn't working properly in ONE of my cars, but nevertheless, everything else is perfect.I sifted through hundreds of these bluetooth receivers and I'm glad I chose the FireFly.Highly recommended!!! 5Gets so hot it will burn the s#*t out of you! Unfortunately this was not good. As soon as it gets power it has a loud popping/ static noise untill somthing is playing. My iphone x connects well but my wifes galexy s9 wont stay connected. Thats not even the bad part. My wife got fed up with it and decided to plug in the Aux cord and when she went to unplug the firefly it was so scortching hot it burned her to where she actually teared up.Very disappointed with this perches. Sending back ASAP. 1Power and sound on (almost) complete auto saved my 2011 vehicle. I ve tried MANY solutions for the fact I bought my expensive vehicle just hours before bluetooth was totally integrated. The bane for me is having to flip a switch on a power source and then sync. At that point, I d rather just use the aux. A new battery case that made the headphone jack hard to use forced me to look again. What I particularly like about this fishy device is that it stays plugged in for both power and sound. No worries about a battery or abor turning the thing on. Generally, once I got the thing hooked up to my bluetooth, it usually reconnects without prompting or help. I am taking one star off becuase on occasion I do have to unplug it or manually bluetooth it. But its rare enough that I am not tossing the whole contraption. 4
