I wouldn't be able to do part of my job without these! First: These are literally a requirement for part of my job. Without these type of pliers I literally wouldn't be able to make one of the products I created. These help me reach into a tight space to hold nuts while I screw a bolt in from the outside. So I can't thank whoever invented these enough! Now: I have gone through a couple of these things. I didn't break any, just bought multiple to see which ones I liked best. And the winner: .... THESE! The reason: Mainly it's the tight feeling of the whole thing and the grip. By tight, I just mean that it's put together really well. Feels sturdy, like I won't have to worry about anything coming loose in the future. And the grip is a godsend! When you're using them everyday, the ones without the grip can start to make your hand hurt. So these - with their rubber handle grips - are a tremendous upgrade! No more hurting hands!Bottom line: I think these are the best, long locking pliers out there :) At least out of the few top ones that I tried. 5Great Medical Aid I use a medical reacher to assist me in daily life. I was in need of a device that would be able to lock onto an object without me having to try to hold the handle tight all the time. You see as I am getting older my grip is going. This tool allows me to grab something and hold it tight without using the little bit of power in my hands. I use it to grab the straps on my shoe and pull them over to attach to my shoes. 5I only recommend avoiding using this like you could with a fixed ... This tool has specific applications just as the saying goes "use the right tool for right job".This Autoloading Screwdriver is no different...Included are precision sized Flat and Phillips head bits of different sizes all of which are meant for small parts. With that said, I only recommend avoiding using this like you could with a fixed handle driver.NEVER use this in a pulling or prying fashion as the precision bits are held mostly by magnetism and can slip out pretty easily in that case.It is NOT to be used like a 6-in-1 but I hope this can be improved..This does not directly replace a set of precision screwdrivers, but it simply narrows the time you need to spend on gathering supplies. Honestly I've been using this for awhile it's hard to imagine working without this..As a question of interest I would definitely like to see different precision bits that already come with this set. It already is easy to swap out but I do appreciate how 4 different sizes of both Flat and Philips are within this driver from the start. 4 extra bits are there in the package but I don't think I'll come to use those unless it came with differing set.. 4Worst redesign, should ve left well enough alone! This screwdriver is terrible, it never fits where you need it, the switching action is particularly desirable. The original was the best this design should be thrown out. Go back to the original, it was durable and lasted forever. I broke this new design today and won t be wasting my money on another!1Five StarsGood service and product, Thank you!5Poor qualityI expected more from Triplett. Several of the parts were not machined correctly and thus were useless. The 14 spanner would not fit at all. The 12 spanner fit tight. I know how they should fit because I have these in Irwin and they are a perfect fit. Also the 5/16 security allen was off drilled. The rest of the set is nice and so is the box. So I kept it and placed my good pieces in their place.3Amazingly handy and does exactly what I needed. Why didn't someone else think of this design? I work on audio and video equipment and often I have to retrieve dropped screws, components, etc. and have to find a way to retrieve them. It usually involves turning the equipment upside down and shaking it (even though I can see it) to loosen the dropped screw since I had no way to reach inside with a conventional long nosed pliers since there's not enough room to expand the jaws to open and grab the screw. This device is absolutely the perfect needle nose plier to accompish that. The material and quality of workmanship is also superb. Well worth the cost, so I bought two of these, just to have a spare and in case I needed to use both at the same time. 5Lots of design short cuts, but it's made of metal and it serves as pliers OK. I don't know why, but I was expecting this to be considerably larger. This thing is really tiny. It was perfect for redoing my bathroom sink faucets though. One thing that was not obvious from this page -- you need to manually reset the jaws back to their maximum each time you want to have it clamp down on something -- it isn't like "RoboGrip" which is spring-loaded and opens fully on its own. This only has a spring as part of the contraption to articulate the locking mechanism. It does not spring back out to reset. So that explains why it's so cheaply priced. It's basically like Harbor-Freight "free gift" quality. It worked great for the job I wanted it for, but if I was doing this every day I would definitely get something more pro-grade. 4Bits and More Sizes of Bits than I've Found in Other SetsThis is the only set like this I found on Amazon.com which has 6 spanner bits. One I ordered before this showed 5 in the photo, but only had 4 when I received it. Rereading the product description for that set, it did say 4 even though there were 5 sizes in the photo so I just kept it. One review noted disappointment a spanner bit broke. Every mechanical device, including tools, have operating characteristics, capabilities, including for receiving the application of, and for applying torque forces. The smaller the spanner bit, the less force it can accept. Maybe less force would have been needed in that application, by properly using a penetrating oil, heat if some type of thread sealant was used, and so on. Sometimes the various forces, operating conditions are simply too much. A well know example of this is what happened to o-ring seals on a US Space Shuttle engine before. I find these bits to have worked when using reasonable force for the bit. In one need that I had two weeks ago, this was the only source of various sets and metric sized tools, for a quite small metric bit. I was very concerned the bit was going to break or strip or strip the bold head, before the bolt loosened (in an electronic assembly where is was risky to use a penetrating oil or apply heat). The bit took worked.Regarding quality, you can also buy on Amazon.com Chapman MFG bit sets. I've use those for years. If their bit sets have what you need, get those if you want good quality tools.4Five StarsIT LOOKS BIGGER5Reasonable Quality Product for the Price These locking pliers are not Knipex or Grip-on quality but they work and are reasonably priced.I have extra long needle nose pliers but did not have anything that could lock in place until purchasing these. They are a step above HF brand since they have molded rubber handles that makes them easier to grip where the HF brand are all metal without the added grips.I would have considered a higher end brand but honestly could not find anyone selling these online other than Triplett. I don't have any cons to point out just don't expect Snap-on or MAC quality out of the package especially considering the priceThere were no major flaws or defects in the metal or chrome and the jaws and tips lined up nearly perfect. The locking mechanism worked smooth and the adjustment screw was easy to turn.I rated the tool 5 stars primarily considering what I paid for them & the unique tool need they fill.Since this tool will see limited use I am quite happy it didn't cost me a fortune and would buy again if needed. 5When you need it, it works I ve only used this weirdly long locking plier twice. But when those situations arose, no other tool would accomplish the task. Glad I have them in my toolbox. 5Good Starter Set of Security bitsGood starter set for security bits (for what was sometimes called "obstruction screws"). Better quality than the budget Asian sets, so you pay a little more. If your fasteners are at the bottom of a deep recess (hole) then these may not work, and you will need to buy long bits or dedicated drivers. I don't have an I-phone, so I can't tell you if these are the tools needed to open an I-phone (or not). There are many types of Security Fasteners, and this set will only fit the most common ones. Seller shipped on time, and the item arrived in perfect condition.5Four StarsBottom left tool n photo is NOT INCLUDED.!4I bought this because I was trying to be cheap ... I bought this because I was trying to be cheap originally and bought some 11 inch standard needle nose pliers which deformed and broke. I am a licensed plumber and need tools to last through trying circumstances. These will not fit in the smallest areas possible, so you may want a back up pair of regulars for areas 3/4" and smaller if they are fairly deep. However, the Triplett is very tough. I have deformed many needlenose by trying to twist while holding something to pull it out. I have tried to break these, and have been unsuccessful. 4Close to the worst tool accuracy I've ever seen! Comically terrible.Just, wow. Out of 30 bits, only 10 are even close to being accurately made. On many there is almost no chance of them actually fitting in the head of the intended security screw due to the center hole being so far off center. On the one bit I needed most, the #14 spanner bit, the one side is wider than the other so I m not even sure I will be able to use that (and I have to drive 15 miles away just to find out). The T6H bit is totally missing one of the torx spines and another is malformed with a bit of it hanging off to the side. I ve seen the phenomenon if declining quality (where they make something that initially is excellent quality to show overseas distributors but then quality quickly drops way off) of Chinese made products before but this really takes it to a new level. Just going to file for a return on these. I was not expecting top of the line quality and precision here for the price but I was hoping that they would at least be somewhat usable. Based on what I have, I would not expect these to fit much of anything well, if at all, and they would probably not withstand much without breaking either.1Five StarsThey look like the bits I've been looking for.5Great kit if you need spanner bitsI bought this kit because I needed some spanner bits, worked out perfectly for what I needed.5
