Customer Reviews

Power flows, even when timer says it's off I tried to contact the seller first for help, but Amazon isn't listing the contact seller button. No matter how the unit is set up, power is flowing. The LCD says the unit is off, the green light is not lit, indicating the unit is off, but power still flows. My devices are not turning off. It worked correctly for a few days and today when I got home, the device will not turn off, no matter what I do. Well, except to unplug it completely. I reset the timer, but power still flows. Not sure how else to troubleshoot the issue. I'd love to change my review if the seller would contact me. I even tried reaching out via their website, but their webpage returns an error too when submitting the form. Not my day, I suppose. 1Never worked - out of the box - NEVER! I've reprogramed this unit - followed the directions - and the directions that were reinterpreted on one of the Reviews and this two outlet timer has never switched from on to off in the auto mode. Never. The comments will ask if it was programed properly or if it was in the 'auto mode' and while the directions are too lengthy the answer is this; the program mode was selected for all days of the week with 1 on at 7 AM and 1 off at 7 PM... and then Auto is selected and shows on the display. So... is it a faulty unit or is there another step...?I received a same style unit from HYDROFARM and it works PERFECTLY... returning the Titan and ordering another HYDROFARM. 1Randomly resets I bought 5. 2 of them keep randomly resetting. Also what I received must be a newer version than pictured. The new ones have a slightly different body and white outlets. I have several of the old version that have been working for over 6 years. Found the old style under a different brand name, going to order those. 1Works like a charm 24/7 since the day I opened it! Fantastic double outlet timer. As I went to do another review (of a mediocre purchase) this peach came up and I can't believe I didn't leave feedback. For the price, this baby rocks!I mistakenly bought a more expensive double timer at the same time and received it a couple of days before the Titan. In comparison, it's garbage and that's where it ended up.It took me about ten minutes to read the instructions properly. From there, setup was five minutes at most. I have had two lights plugged into this unit since the day it came. I've changed the program hours once. It has come on/off for both programs exactly as set 24/7.For ease of use with 2 lights, I can't possibly recommend this unit more highly. Will be buying another to control some other items in the house.A gem. 5Hope the second unit will work better - I love the analog settings! Ok, this is the second one of these that I've purchased in the past 2 months. I really really like the analog controls on this timer. I use these timers with a wall mount AC unit and want to be able to have it go on and off as I need during the summer - especially at night. I've used digital timers in the past but sometimes programing them is such a pain that I'd rather not bother. That's what I really like about this analog timer - you press the black plastic pins for when you want the unit to have power and come on. This worked well for a very short time! Very disappointed. At night, when it's warm, I like to have the timer (and therefore the AC unit) come on and be on for an hour and then off for an hour, that time of setting until I get up and then, depending on the weather, set it for when I'll be away from home. It hasn't worked consistently. I came home and the AC should have been on and went to the timer and the pins were all pressed and it SHOULD have been on but wasn't. It has also turned off in the middle of a timed setting. But I like this unit! It's so easy to set!! That's what I was looking for - so I bought a new one and hope this one will perform as it should. If this second unit works well - then I give it 5 stars. But the first one having timer issues after a few weeks is not acceptable. 3Ouput Failed After Less Than 1 Year I'm giving this timer two stars because the output failed after less than 1 year, and it was definitely not due to the out put being over-loaded or anything of that nature. The only load connected to the output was a 120volt control relay that was energized each day for 20 minutes. With the relay requiring only a few milliamps to operate. It does keeps very accurate time, and other than the failed output, it did exactly what I needed it to do which was disable a drive-way alarm for a 20 minute period from Monday thru Friday. But which all this being said, I just ordered another one exactly like it, because they do not cost very much and a different model would probably lead to my having to re-arrange existing wiring. However, if the replacement fails after being in service such a short time, I will try something different, although I do not know if anyone makes a timer of the same price range that would be any better 2Bad Design I was so looking forward to using this for my wall-mount apartment air conditioner but the design makes it incompatible with my unit. The flat plug on the power cord of my AC unit has the round prong on the leading edge and the cord trailing away from the two flat prongs, so I can't plug it in to the timer - the dial is in the way of the cord! You would think they'd have designed it with the outlet turned 45 degrees to accommodate a plug from either direction...but no. So back it goes. In case anyone is wondering, the picture looks like the unit's inlet might be able to turn in its housing - it does not. 1A Great Timer! This is the exact product that I reviewed only the one I reviewed cost $1 more and is branded by HydroFarm. So I want to give the same feedback to this one because it IS the same unit. So Here you go:I have been so frustrated with traditional timers, you know, the kind you have to press in individual pins to tell it when to turn or (no wait that for it to turn off, oy). So when my last one died it thought I would opt for this one because I liked the flexibility of the times on and off. This is a big box but doesn't hog the entire plug, in fact I have a telephone box-type plug sharing an outlet with it now (I'll include a picture). It arrives with a battery in it and the clock set to the correct time (what??). I reset it just in case and it was easy. Then what makes it kinda intriguing is that you can set it for 8 different times a day to come on and off. So if you work 9 to 5- five days a week you may want it to kick on at 5am until 8am - turn off - There are two receptacles on the unit and both will follow the timer that you set. So you can't have a separate schedule for the other device.I have mine turning on at 4am (about the time the cat's torment of me to wake up takes hold). When I go to feed them the lights are on until 6am then go off and return on again at 5pm until midnight.the ONLY con I can think of is that I wish there was a way to have separate programing for each side BUT that's not something the company remotely implies so I can't hold it against them --- BUT if you are a company exec -- think on these things! 5About as easy to program this thing as programming gets...... I was able to program it the first time in less than ten minutes......and I HATE programming devices......I have only been using it for about two weeks but so far SO GOOD......it has worked extremely well cycling a lamp on and off while I am away from home......it DOESNT block your other outlet while in use.......I would definitely recommend this timer based on my short usage so far......in fact, more than likely I will buy another of these timers for my living room light.........the ONLY IMPROVEMENT I would recommend for this unit is to have TWO OUTLETS.......so that you can plug two different things into the timer......but that may be asking too much.........If you want a basic "read out" timer (aka digital) ....that is VERY EASY to program, and actually works well, I would recommend this timer toyou.........update: 11-20-15.....I have had this timer for a couple of years now and I still love it.......if you have a power outage, be sure and let the timer charge itself in the wall for a few hours before you reset any necessary times......still works great...... 5So far So good It came to my door still powered. Good sign. I plugged it in for more than the minimum recommended time of 3.5 hrs to charge its internal battery. I went from the manual intermec to this one just because of the power back up feature. It has 8 settings of on off on off etc. To program is pretty easy once you mess with it. it doesn't give you any confirmation of your settings, once you put in the time for on or off thats it. it will stay on that screen till you hit time or another function to program. Just make sure the word auto is on if you want your time schedule to be cycled. I use this to cycle my modem and router everyday so I put my off time in the first off slot and the on time in the second on slot eg. ON: 00:00 OFF: 4:00am ON:4:30am OFF:00:00 ON: 00:00 etc it is set for an item in the off state to be turned on and off. I had to skip the first ON time slot to have it operate an always on to be cycled off and on.After two weeks it is still working perfectly. only time will tell if these hold up. I am getting a second one to power my lamp on in the morning to wake me up and turn it off at my usual leave time. Beats the BEEP BEEP BEEP still using that as a back up but prefer the light method. 5
