Customer Reviews

Thermaltake quality fans but hidden fees Great looking and great pressure/airflow (Max. Air Pressure 1.62 mm-H2OMax. Air Flow 70.32 CFM). Half the cost of the room plus and they look great. The controller however does NOT connect to onboard argb mobo header. Used some junky USB header and software. Spend 20$ on thermaltake controller that connects to argb header and these fans will connect to it. Much better results. So really they're 80$ for 3 140mm fansThermaltake TT Sync SATA Powered... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079FYL6LM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share 4Fans are great, controller software is terrible I really like the fans, but the software is so horrible I'm giving it just one star. I may change that if they fix the problems. The biggest thing is the popup warning you get if you don't specifically turn off the unused ports. That's easy enough to fix - assuming you only do that for one profile. Apparently you have to turn off the unused ports for EACH PROFILE, otherwise you get stuck in an endless loop of popup warnings and the program WILL NOT OPEN to allow you to fix the problem. Also, not all the fans may get oriented the same way when you install them - it would be nice to have an easy way to rotate the color profiles to have each fan match, instead of having to change all 12 LEDs manually.I tried to fix the issue by going in through the app on my phone, but that didn't work. It will switch between profiles, but it will not address the individual fans nor save profiles. Maybe it will if the popups will stop, but at this point it's not happening.(UPDATE) After uninstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling, I finally got the software working. Upgraded to 3 stars. If there is a decent fix for the software I might consider going higher.(UPDATE 2 - 12/29/18)Oh my goodness. I don't know what they are doing at ThermalTake, but fan controller software doesn't seem like it would be that difficult. TT RGB Plus versions 1.2.52 and 53 don't work at all. They just hang and don't do anything. Apparently there is a compatibility issue between the software and ASUS AMD platforms. Looking for alternate controllers.(UPDATE THE THIRD) I'm going to leave the rating where it is because the software has been making my system crash. After uninstalling everything is running fine. I did break down and order another ThermalTake product to get things working again. It was the controller that lets you use the fans with ASUS Aura Sync, thus getting rid of the TT RGB program. So far, that has been working flawlessly. 2Pictures don't do these justice I'll start by saying I'm a Razer fan and been wanting the Thermaltake Riing Trios for a while now, but they NEVER go on sale. I've had them on my wish list for 7 months now. The reason I want thermaltake is because they sync with Razer Synapse 3. These Pure Plus syce with Razer and they look great. When I'm playing games like Apex Legends all the lights from my Razer peripherals and now Thermaltake fans sync up together. I also have the Lian Like O11 Dynamic Razer Edition case and Pacific Lumi light strips, which sync with Razer Synapse as well. The noise isn't noticable at all to me, but when I'm playing games my headset is on, so I wouldn't hear it anyway. As for Thermaltake's software, I don't have any problems with it. It controls my lighting effects when I don't have it synced to razer and allows me to choose a few fan speeds. Yes it could look better, but it gets the job done. 5Quiet fans, good quality. Fans are great for the price. They are quiet and have good air flow. The RGB LEDa are customizable with Thermaltakes own software, or they can be controlled with Aurasync. (Or other software.) However, you need an additional control from Thermaltake and a motherboard with a 5v output to have the LEDs controlled by Aurasync.Unfortunately I learned this after buying them, and a good motherboard with a 5v and a 12v rail costs nearly $300. A bit much for me, but the ThermalTake software is enough customization for now until motherboard prices go down.If you have the LEDs customized and put the computer in 'sleep' mode, when you wake up the computer, the color customization is lost and set to default and the fans stay at 1 speed. (Before sleep they will adjust speed depending on computer workload.) 5it's quiet the light is not so bright as to be obnoxious but puts out a good glow. I also liked the plug included for ... not using for a computer case so this review is a bit different. I used this to make a vapor trap for a saudering station. it's quiet the light is not so bright as to be obnoxious but puts out a good glow. I also liked the plug included for conversion to molex (4 pin) power I used it to make my splice so I could keep the fan cable in good shape. Note this fan will only work with a 12v supply. Initially I planned on running it on a usb port but the voltage was not high enough to turn the fan. 5Fourth, I've had, and the best My case is missing a strip of plastic near the top, and it's so old I'd probably never find a replacement. As a result, I've had "issues" with the top fan, it being so large. This is the fourth one I've had. The first three didn't have good shielding, would never sit quite straight, and eventually the fan blades would catch and start beating on the side until it locked up and died. This latest version of the Thermaltake fan, cannot get stuck as they changed the way it is housed. It took a bit of figuring out, to get it mounted, but once I did, it was rock solid. And is silent. Between that and the water-cooling, my computer is running at a steady 29 degrees C despite the fact that it is a gaming rig with I-7 processor, 16 gigs of RAM, and an Nvidia 1070 video card. 5Product not as described description on page is as follows "Thermaltake 200mm Pure 20 Series Black 200x30mm Thick Quiet High Airflow Case Fan with Anti-Vibration Mounting System Cooling CL-F015-PL20BL-A" there is no Anti-Vibration Mounting System in packaging. no rubber mounts. Amazon needs to change the description on this product. 1Excellent hardware, terrible software The fans work well and look great the TT RGB software is atrocious to use though. It has awesome features and with the fact you can pair with Razer now some issues have been alleviated. Still though changing fan profiles and lighting ideas are rough. I appreciate the unique voice commands and Alexa compatibility but the software uses an abnormal amount of resources when running in the background and desperately needs a better UI. For now I have purchased the TT Sync adapter so that I can just use Asus Aura which isn t great software either but it s simple and less clunky than TT RGB. 4Great fans for a custom case. These are 1krpm by the way. There are a few mixed opinions on here, so i wanted to weigh in with a fairly experienced point of view. The people who have mentioned the amount of air these push are correct in that 1krpm is a minimum. If you go any slower the fan will likely not even turn smoothly and will make a ton of noise while pushing zero air.So who would want these fans and why? I use these fans for exhaust in places where I know they will be seen. For the exact same money on amazon you can get the "sickleflow" models which are lighted and they are 2k rpm. They have a black frame however and if you want to run them silently you will have to leave them around half power. This means half the led light plus the opaque, black frame takes a lot away. You will not get the effect you want out of those. With these fans I put them in places where 1krpm is enough, and as an added bonus because they are fully transparent and running at max power they glow prodigiously. If it is your first build heed my advice. 2krpm is good for inlet and if you have a controller you shouldn't have any issue finding the right speed for them. Once you've got air coming in then you can use these for exhaust. If you play your cards right you can have a bunch of these running at full speed without a fan speed controller and it will still be whisper quiet plus you will have a really glowey case.Good luck to all you homebrewers and remember that with these fans you do not even need the fan speed controller. They are gonna be running at max power anyways, so think of them as freebies if you don't have anymore room on your controller. 5Will fit a Thermaltake Armor+ MX Case. This fan is almost a direct drop in replacement for the side fan that comes with the Thermaltake Armor+ MX case, minus LEDs. You don't need the old screws and nuts as the screws provided with this fan fit through your side panel screw holes and screw directly into the fan. Out of the box you have two power hookup methods: a two pin 12V connector or an adapter that lets you plug in to a standard IDE power connector. Sound level is solid at 58dB. I measured the sound in a quiet room with the fan attached to the case side panel (with only the fan running) using my RISEPRO HT-80A Decibel Meter. Not a professional assessment but it gives you an idea of it's noise level. You will hear this fan when it is running normally. Performance: It dropped my ATI Radeon HD 4870's temp from 115 F to 104 F (46.1 C - 45.6). 4
