    Exactly as advertised The light works exactly as advertised. Ignore complaints by buyers who don't know what they are purchasing. It IS "gloss piano finish", so it will leave fingerprints when not cleaned, just like 90 percent of computer monitors, and 100% of cell phone, tablet displays. It is very stable, the base is plenty heavy to keep it from tipping. All the joints of the rotating elbows are firm and hold their position. The switches are working very well, the slightest touch will activate them, again just like a cell phone touch control.The brightness controls are good, and they retain both their user selected mode (Sleep->Reading) and levels (adjusted (+ -) even when the lamp is turned off then turned on again.The LED light source provides a somewhat diffused illumination, less glare and less shadows that normal, incandescent or even CFL light bulbs. It's a good product and delivers exactly what it promises. Thank you Tenergy. 5Couldn't ask for more! Multiple different tone settings for the lights AND a 60 minute timer you can select so the light turns off automatically. We bought this just to test it out and I'm surprised that I now use this night light every night when I read or when I just don't want to large ceiling light on all the time. Great buy! Good gift for those late night readers. 5Love It!!! Love it, the different lighting levels are perfect for my aging eyes. As the day progresses I need brighter light to work by, being able to adjust the light's brightness is perfect for my needs. UPDATED REVIEW: I am updating my review from 1 to 4 stars as a result of the customer service I ended up receiving from the manufacturer. Even though the item was outside Amazon's return window, the Tenergy rep offered to have a new lamp sent out to me at no additional cost after learning about the issue with the USB port. They determined it must have been a defect in that particular lamp (since the USB port never worked even thought the lamp was brand new). They were very responsive and easy to communicate with on the customer service side. I just received the new lamp yesterday, plugged it in, and the USB port works! Hooray! I would definitely consider ordering from them again given the positive customer service experience and the fact that they stood behind their product.ORIGINAL REVIEW: If you are purchasing this for the USB port, beware! I purchased this lamp (new) for someone as a Christmas gift and the USB port was one of the main reasons I chose this lamp over many others. The gift recipient has been using this lamp for several weeks now as a reading light at bedtime (and the light part has been working great), but only today did they get around to trying the USB port to charge their phone. And...it doesn't work! We tried 3 different charging cords and 5 different devices. Nothing. It doesn't even charge for a moment and then stop--there is clearly no power coming from the port. Of course (as luck would have it), the "return window" for the lamp closed a few days ago so now we are stuck with a lamp that has a useless USB port. I don't know if I received a "used" lamp by mistake or if this was just a manufacturing defect, but in any case is was a major disappointment. None of the reviews I had read before purchase warned of a defective USB port, so it didn't even cross my mind that the lamp light would work (but not the USB port). So if/when you decide to buy this lamp, be sure to check the USB port right away to see if you got a dud like I did. 4So I'm either an idiot or I'm pretty happy with them I've bought two of these to replace Ott-Lite task lights... first one, then another. So I'm either an idiot or I'm pretty happy with them. The light is good, the white balance selections are useful, they don't buzz, and they take very little space on my desk.Just one thing: about the description: They are claimed to be "dimmable" but don't expect to connect them to an external dimmer. That won't work, due to the type of power supply these lights use. The "sleep" setting is dimmer than the rest (and also much "warmer", ie much less blue) but that's the extent of the "dimming". Also, if you try to run them on any sort of remote switch, that won't work either. When the remote switch is turned on these do not light up, even if they were "on" when the remote switch was last turned off. You will just have to live with tapping the on/off button on these. That's the reason for my four- instead of five-star rating. 4If you don't mind the lamp not looking like a traditional bedside lamp If you don't mind the lamp not looking like a traditional bedside lamp, this is the best thing to use! I felt like I was so behind and old fashioned using those lamps with the lampshade! With the traditional lamps: 1) You cannot adjust the color lighting (white to yellow on certain settings), 2) the bulbs feel hot; 3) You have to reach your hand up to twist the nob to turn off the lamp. 4) It takes effort to clean the lampshade since it can be dusty on the cloth.....BUUUUT this Tenergy lamp is so awesome. It has 4 settings to switch depending on the situation you're in like reading vs. relaxing. It's all plastic so you can just give it a quick wipe down or dust. This lamp also has a USB port to charge your gadgets and it isn't very hot when turned on. When it's time to turn off, you can just swing your hand over and just swipe or put your finger to the power button and it's off. I love, love, love this thing and I probably won't go back to the traditional lamp due this upgrade. It's not as pretty having it bedside if you like decorating the room but I think it's worth it. 5Multiple settings desk lamp that will be sure to illuminate life. Basics: As of 1/11/2018, I've had this desk lamp for almost a year now and it is still holding up superbly. At times used as my sole light in my room, I've had many study sessions with it and with many settings my eyes thank me for it. I purchased this desk lamp as a tool for my recent enrollment into a masters program.Effectiveness: Very useful for the size of my desk. I have a rather large desk and needed a adjustable light to add illumination to my desk in addition to my two monitors. The great thing about the light is that it takes up very little surface area on my desk as well. Albeit not as sturdy as I'd want it to be, this does not however take away from the effectiveness of the light.Price: 24.99. Currently, the light is even cheaper, which makes it a no brainer if you are looking for a desk lamp.Ease of use: It has very easy to use settings that change with the press of a finger. Furthermore, adjusting the lamp to get different lighting settings is very easy to do.Support: N/ASummary: Highly recommended if you are looking for a desk lamp that has different adjustable settings and is minimally adjustable. 5Best affordable Desk Lamp ever! This light surpassed my expectations which, after reading the description, were pretty high. Unlike other lights it has different brightness settings and even those can be adjusted + or - the brightness. It also has a sturdy base with a built in USB charger. This is a perfect light for the desk with a computer monitor or laptop. If you're looking for a desk lamp this one blows away the normal single light usually found on the desk. 5Very functional light with many features. I ve had this desk lamp for about a week now and love it. It has multiple lighting choices with dimming capability for each choice. I tend to use it on the Study mode most of the time while I m working on my laptop; the brightness is definitely adequate for me. The USB port is a great feature makes it very convenient to charge my phone or other devices. Price was decent and I love the fact that it only uses 11 watts. Definitely satisfied with the lamp. 5Great design, just watch your fingerprints! OK, the light and the different settings is awesome and it is 100% functional. I was so glad I purchased this. But, it was once I got it set up that I noticed the microfiber cloth, and lo and behold, my dirty fingerprints all over the lamp's "piano gloss finish" and they weren't kidding! I've already tried to clean the lamp several times with non-abrasive eyeglass cleaner, window cleaner with ammonia, and no go - the finish is now a foggy white haze. This is extremely bothersome. It looks dirty, and I can't get it clean. No idea why a lamp needs a piano gloss finish, and not sure why I need to maybe pull out my orbital polisher to remove normal fingerprints just for the lamp to look like it is new. I would seriously suggest finding another lamp from this company because everything else is fantastic about this lamp. I may need to return it, and I know it sounds silly but - what will the lamp look like after a few month's use? I imagine a home with kids or several family members - this light is a mess magnet!***UPDATE*** increased rating to 5 stars, after considering my review, I decided it was unfair. Used the cloth last night that is included, and it cleaned off my prints fairly easily. Awesome light, and I would buy it again! 5
