Customer Reviews

Inexpensive but good quality Really like this mallet as it was inexpensive and of decent quality. Bought this to use primarily on my AR-15 and it works just fine. Mallet is a tad bigger than I thought but not a huge issue. Has a very nice weight to it so it's neither too heavy or too light. The interchangeable/replaceable heads is a nice touch as well. Don't think I'll be needing to replace them any time soon but it's nice to know I have that ability. I saw several other similar mallets with multiple heads but I thought that might be a bit overkill for my needs. Overall, really nice multipurpose mallet. 4Good tool to have This thing is a beast. When I was look at this hammer, I really thought it was going to be the size of the small brass hammers for gun smithing. This hammer is much bigger but I like it. The two ends come off and I guess you can put other types on but I have not seen any on Amazon. The hammer appears to be heavy duty and the handle has a rubber to help out with holding/grip. 4Unscrew The Ends And Put LocTite On Them Medium duty mallet not for heavy pounding. The rubber/plastic ends are very similar in hardness. As many others have pointed out the ends come loose and unscrew easily. When you get yours unscrew the ends, clean the threads with alcohol, let dry and then add LocTite to the threaded studs and hand tighten as much as you can. This should prevent the ends from coming loose. This should be OK for occasional use. 3Much smaller than I thought it would be It got the job done but wow, it is small. I thought maybe this was too cheap for a soft mallet but either I didn't read the description well or it wasn't listed - this thing is the size of a regular hammer, not a rubber mallet. I know rubber mallets are not expensive so I didn't really think about the fact that it was only $8 bucks, just that I needed one to put together my new garage shelves and both of mine burned in my garage fire 2 years ago. This worked, although it and I are both too small to use it effectively on the top shelf - my husband had a little better luck. But if you need a regular rubber mallet, this isn't it. 4nice rubber/plastic mallet, fast and easy to use good balance on this model Have several hammers from sears, craftsman. all are broken and most only last 10 months. I use just turn them in and get new ones for free. but the quality is getting worse. and the stores are closing so returning them is getting harder. so I saw this hammer for under 10 dollars. so I got one.used for a week every day over 1000 blows on the this hammer. it was holding up nicely .so nice in fact, I bought 2 more. they slip out of my tool belt faster, easier to grab. lighter weight overall, but still does the job nicely.also like i can just buy the heads if i choose too. option not available on other hammers i have used.all members of my crew will have these soon if they last for longer than a year. 5Small yet powerful mallet for tent stakes Very handy mallet for tent camping - small yet powerfully effective at driving tent stakes into the ground quickly. Because it is so small, can always find room to bring this handy mallet (unlike the larger types) so I never leave home without this mallet. It really makes setting up a tent go quickly before the sun sets and it gets dark. I lent mine out at the last Girl Scout outing and people loved it, so am buying another one. Highly recommend it. 5It is a hammer. I hit things with it. The spatial relations of the things I hit change. I am happy. It's a simple striking tool. I strike things with it. Verily doth it smite and many things have I smote mightily with it. It's a very nice tool at a more than fair price. Barring the head flying off and smiting something I wished had remained unsmote, I can't see how this wouldn't last until the end of time. 5Really handy to have, a great value Wish I would have bought a hammer like this years ago.Super handy to have around for general use. I use it mostly for woodworking, but its also great for assembly and general tinkering. It doesn't leave a mark or damage the object you're working on unless you're really ignorant. So far the plastic end has held up pretty well after repeated banging. Seems to be better quality than the comparable Harbor Freight hammer. The screw on ends are a little loose and won't tighten down to my satisfaction, and the Tekton sticker peeled off easily, leaving sticky residue, but for the price, you can't beat it. Great tool to have around the garage. 5Good and Affordable Mallet Great soft-end mallet to be used for average projects that need a gentle smack. The weight of the mallet is about right to hold it comfortably and to give the target area a good punch. The mallet it too small for hammering in large dowels, but fine for small ones or other metal parts that need to be put in their place. Great price too, if it stays down. 5They thread on and off easily. Both the male and female threads look strong ... I bought this hammer to beat on things with out damaging them. I Used it to remove and replace roll pins in my firearms. Most of the time I was hitting metal punches with it and some times u hit the pins themselves. The hammer has a heavy weight to it and the heads are replaceable. They thread on and off easily. Both the male and female threads look strong and clean. I have had no issues tightening them down and them staying in place while in use. The heads are soft and have not marred or left marks on anything I have used them on so far. I am happy with this purchase and will recommend it for others. 5
