    If you need a rubber mallet, you've come to the right place. This was a great purchase. I needed a rubber mallet for pounding cinder blocks flat into a layer of compacted sand, and this has done the trick. I've also used it on delicate pavers, too, and it hasn't so much as broken a chip off of anything. I would expect the mallet head to look chewed up and worn to pieces after the abuse I've put it through, but it still looks brand new. It's got exactly the right amount of weight, feels good in my hand, and the center of gravity feels like it's in the perfect spot. This thing is pretty heavy, but I haven't felt sore after using it for a few hours at a time. It also does a great job of absorbing the impact, as it doesn't feel like I'm getting any uncomfortable vibration after hitting the cinder blocks or pavers. I'm whacking 'em pretty good, too, so it's impressive that I'm not hurting myself.At this price, it's a no-brainer if you think a rubber mallet will help you with whatever project you're doing. I have never used a rubber mallet before, and I may not need it again for years, but I feel like this was a great purchase to help with this specific job, and I have absolutely no regrets on picking up a tool that I may not use very often at all. Go for it, dude. 5Highly recommend I am using this Tekton mallet to insert 80 feet of plastic edging in various parts of my Florida lawn. This lightweight, but tough mallet has been a lifesaver. While doing this project, this mallet gets dirty and wet. Its cushioned handle prevents my hands from slipping and its cushioned head provides a damage-free, but effective strike. Despite 30 days of hot sun, mud, rain, clay, and multiple cleaning sessions with the garden hose, my mallet has retained its original appearance. 5Nice lightweight mallet at a great price. I have purchased a few various TEKTON tools over the last year. I was in need of a new rubber mallet and the price seemed very fair so I figured I would give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised on the build quality of this when I received it. Has a nice nonslip grip wrapped around a lightweight fiberglass handle. The rubber head feels firm when striking and even though I have the black version it didn't appear to leave any marks on anything I struck.UPDATE 08/04/2016: Included some photos after I just used it to diagnose the source of a heat shield rattle. 5Get the white one if you need non-marking Affordable, functional mallet. The grip is comfortable, the weight feels just right, and it doesn't leave a dent when striking a work piece in my experience. The black version (the only version available when I ordered) is not a non-marking mallet, however, meaning if you hit a surface you may expect to see a black ring or smudge left behind. Sanding the marks off off isn't a problem, but be careful using it with a finished piece. See attached photo for an example of two marks left by this mallet. It serves it's purpose exactly as expected, but if you will be using a mallet on finished surfaces make sure you get one that is advertised as non-marking instead.Update: Tekton now offers a non-marking (white) version of this mallet. If you need a non-marking mallet, go with the white or black/white option. 4TEKTON 30683 16-Ounce Fiber glass Handle White/Black Rubber Mallet I had my dead blow hammer of many years, just disintegrate and thought I try this TEKTON 30683 16-Ounce Fiber glass Handle White/Black Rubber Mallet. For the Prime price of $12.58 and free delivery, I thought I'd give it a try. The handle, fiber glass and a rubber grip, will hold up to any use I can imagine, using the rubber work end mallet. It is hefty enough, for about anything I'll ever used it for and I don't ever see it as a waste of money. I like it and I began using it immediately. It feels good in the hand and the ends are a strong rubber that should hold up well. I think I'll use it a while and then return for a follow up of this review, to report how it performed. 4Sometimes you need a soft touch This 1 pound rubber mallet is very sturdy. Unlike other rubber hammers, this one has a fiberglass handle (very important), instead of a wooden or plastic handle. The rubber head is soft enough that it will not break of pieces as you strike solid objects and hard enough to get the job done; the perfect balance between too much and too little.However, I cannot comment on longevity, except to say the product is well made and from the looks of it, I expect it to last many years to come. 5I now have a gofer free lawn! Prior to getting this rubber mallet, I d have to hit my lawn gofers with a metal hammer, which was harder and made a big mess when I hit one right on. Now, with this rubber mallet, I can more accurately strike the gofers as they pop up, and the softer strike surface allows me to daze them rather than make their head explode. Seriously recommend. 5No splinters! I can t believe I am writing a review about a mallet. Clearly something must be very wrong in my life, that I feel compelled to share my opinion about something that is fiberglass and rubber, and used to bang stuff. This smell it does the job I bought it for, and when I really like about it is that the fiberglass handle is very comfortable, and it feels so much better than those cheap wooden handles of other mallets that I ve had. Yes, I have owned multiple mail it to my life, and yes, I am very concerned that I am sharing this on Amazon. Clearly, I need to reevaluate my life.Anyway, it does what it needs to do, and is several steps up from the crappy mallets I have previously owned. SMH! 4Affordable Mallet This is a decent mallet with a good weight. It is advertised as fiberglass however there is a piece of plastic connecting the mallet to the handle. I know this because it broke shortly after buying it. I still use it as I just tied the mallet to the handle with some rope. I wouldn t advertise this as heavy duty at all, but it does the job and is pretty cheap. 2I needed this...no...wanted my very own rubber mallet for my own toolbox. I was happy to buy myself a new tool for my new tool box. I used this rubber mallet today to assist with assembling metal shelving. It is lightweight and help do the job! I love the quality too!My dad taught me to care for and clean tools. Having my own, alleviates the stress of digging into my husbands tool box - yuk!Love my rubber mallett! 5
