Very good bag! Hold tons of stuff yet still small enough for under an airplane seat! Wow this bag packs a TON of stuff, like as much as you can get in a duffel bag easy, maybe more!! You could travel with this bag only for a weekend and easily fit everything you need plus a laptop!! High quality fabric and zippers!! I love this bag so much.... way better than any other laptop bag I've seen! Has good small pockets too for other items. 5Very please - traveling professional By far one of if not the best bag I've purchased. As a professional traveling I found my previous bag missing the mark around, organizing tickets/paper work, passport, food, sunglasses, laptop (accessibility) and overall layout. They have done their R&D. I am looking forward to seeing how the bag holds up when traveling on my next trip, but I am confident the experience will be great. For day to day traveling to work via car - the bag is great and good quality. I would buy again if not recommend to make the purchase. Little expensive but worth it if you find yourself unable to package all your wants.BTW these are my own views. 5Zippers get an F for a grade. First I want to start out by saying I love using Targus backpacks. I used them throughout college and I use them for travel. My last backpack was stolen on a cruise I took last summer so I decided to get another Targus. I saw this one listed and it had everything I needed so I purchased it. When I received it I went through a typical inspection and the material was super nice but the main zipper kept catching. After looking at it closer I noticed the rows of teeth were uneven (see pic). Amazon is amazing when it comes to shipping back an item and even better when it comes to replacing a defective one. A couple of days later I got my second backpack and went through the same inspection. To my disbelief I had another zipper issue. This time it was missing a tooth and it kept snagging while trying to open and close. The quality control department is missing the ball. Targus has lost a long standing customer and I decided to go with a different brand. I wish I didn't have to write this but hopefully Targus will address this. 1Good quality, professional vs. other backpacks, but small + a couple design quirks Pros:-A nice bag as far as build quality-It looks much more professional than your average backpack; this is actually the main reason I bought it (I work in finance in New York and my last backpack was beat up/looked out of place)-I wasn't too keen on the pocket layout at first, but it's (mostly) grown on me (see below for where it hasn't)Cons:-Mostly I just wish it were *bigger*!!! Part of this is on me for not reviewing the size thoroughly, but part of it is the bag design itself, which leads to the second con---The TSA compartment is really not of much use. TSA agents still ask you to take it out, and even if you didn't, 1) it would hardly save any time anyway, and 2) the way it's constructed as a separate but thin compartment just adds more unnecessary padding--which takes up more room--in an already fairly small bag. If they just eliminated this one feature and had one big main compartment, it would make the bag that much bigger & more useful. As is, I find myself often having to carry a second bag in my hand for things like gym clothes/etc., which is far from ideal, especially when it's one more thing to potentially lose on a subway. Not sure how long I'll continue to use this bag before I've had enough with the small size, but hopefully Targus will come out with a larger and improved version of this one, because other than those issues I really like the look and quality of this one for work. 3Had for Months, Still Love! Targus CitySmart EVA Pro Checkpoint-Friendly Backpack for 15.6-Inch Laptop, Gray.Things I don't love about this bag:--The main zipper is not great for one-hand operation.--I wish the organizer panel compartment had just a little more give room so it doesn't look lumpy when you put a lot of stuff in it.--The material around the bottom scuffs easily.Things I do love about this bag:--The side pockets aren't mesh, which is great, because I'm not into sports.--The side pockets stay flat enough to hold smaller things or stay inconspicuous when not in use, but expand enough to carry my fat 32 oz. water bottles/thermoses.--Both of the small compartments on the top flap are reinforced so their contents won't get crushed. Sunglasses, vape, phone, 3DS, etc. are all good candidates for these pockets.--Laptop stays safe! Envelope-style padding stretches to accommodate behemoth 10-year-old 15" laptop.--You can fit 3 laptops in here! Your back will hate you, but you can! One in the built-in sleeve, another in the same zipper compartment, and another in the pocket in the main compartment. The latter two should have their own sleeves, of course.--The main compartment has one open pocket against the back of it, which is great for tablet, small laptop (like 10-11" Stream, Surface, Chromebook, etc.), or for just keeping some papers/folders upright. The rest is just an open rectangular space for books, folders, binders, etc. and you can pack it over the edge, as long as the top flap can still zipper around it.--The classy dark grey is blendy enough for business, but the subtle orange trim prevents it from being overly stoic.--After many months now of using this bag as my daily driver, it shows NO signs of wear except for minor scuffing on the material near the bottom. And I am REALLY hard on my stuff.--THE BAG STANDS UP ON ITS OWN. <3 <3 <3 5Just ordered a second one! I bought this bag for work and travel but after my wife saw it, and tried it on, she stole it! She's back in school so she carries a lot of heavy accounting text books along with business materials. Her regular backpack was a name brand, fairly expensive bag, but nowhere near the ergonomic fit this backpack provides. It does fantastic job distributing the weight evenly and she finds it very comfortable. For the short time I had it, I felt it fit my tall frame well and it adjusted down to her petite frame with no problem. What factor we both like is that it stays upright when you set it down! 5Best Layout Design Ever (I've owned several bags) - I like it - but cheap zippers are hard to work with, and uncomfortabl straps Rating this backpack is very very difficult for me ... there is a lot I really like about it. By that rating, I really should give it 4 stars ... It's almost perfect ... But I'm giving it a three for the cons identified below (and if those were fixed, I'd give this bag a nine on a five point scale). So I hope Targus reads this review carefully.First Pros:1. The Layout is PERFECT ... flat out, bar-none, best layout I've ever seen in any backpack. It's by far the best bag to allow you to (a) see every single compartment fully, knowing everything in there, and especially (b) designed so that overhead light makes it all the way down to the bottom of each compartment ! This is really a WELL-DESIGNED layout. Better than my more expensive EverKey, or Samsonite ... AND that's the reason I am happy with, and am going to keep this bag - the Design of all compartments. From the convenient top two sunglasses and recharging chord storage compartments, to the front pens-and-pouches compartment, to the main storage compartment, and the rear laptop / tablet compartment - all are very well designed and have 100% convenient access to SEE and GET AT any item stored in the bag. No one should be hunting for anything stored in this bag ... all items are easily seen.2. The bag stands upright !!!!!! Whether empty or full, or anywhere in between - it stands - fairly solidly at that! Wow !!!!You would think this should be an easy item for a manufacture to meet - but actually, this is not the normal scenario ( no matter how much money one spends on a backpack - my experience is that they fall over easily). I use backpacks on vacation - but that's pretty infrequent. I more use backpacks daily to carry items back and forth from home to work. At work, by backpack sits on my desk - not on the floor - and I work with it there - pulling things in and out of it all day long. So, not having to turn the back backwards and lean it against the wall part of my desk is a BIG BIG BIG deal to me!It is for these two features above that I am very happy with this bag !Now for the Cons ...Cons ...1. The zippers are cheap (IMO) ... especially the one for the "main compartment". It is very hard to work - requiring two hands - and it gets stuck along the way at that ! This is such a big disappointment - this one issue alone has costs TWO STARS for this review ! The other con is a con for sure, but this is the main one. Grant it, I am spoiled to expensive backpacks I've purchased in the past ... but, to let Targus know - I would be willing to spend more money on this bag if it had polishing touches in these manufacturing quality issues.(May I suggest flawless zippers, and perhaps two "fold-over" velcro flaps for a PERFECT fit for any laptop in the laptop compartment and fixing Con item number 2. below as well ? If those items were addressed, I would be willing to pay twice as much for this item).2. Straps are very uncomfortable. The straps are stiff and there uncomfortable ... carrying this bag is the worse of all three that I own. But I can live with this one ... still, how much better this could be with softer, more comfortable shoulder straps?Hope this helps in the way of feedback. BTW ... whoever designed the layout of this bag - give that guy a raise ! 3Looks good and works well! I bought a new 15.6" HP Envy and wanted to get a laptop case to carry it around at school. This case definitely serves its purpose! I've had it for almost a month and I have no complaints. Laptop fits snugly along with its recharger and mouse, and at one point I've had to fit my fat wallet (from all the giftcards haha), phone, iPod, Samsung S3, earphones, lip balm, car keys, house keys, and a 3-subject notebook. IT ALL FIT, yes. It's narrower than I originally thought so the more things you put inside the more bulky the bag looks, but it doesn't look ugly. In fact, this case is handsome! It does its job AND looks good. The bag is composed of:* one big compartment for the laptop itself* a pouch inside to hold papers/rechargers/mice* two discreet outer pockets on the Targus logo side - a smaller one for keys/notes/money I guess and a bigger one for whatever else* big pouch on the other side.* a removable padded strap. The handles work well as I always use them and rarely the strap, and they hold up well.I bought it for $28 I believe. Great buy:) 5This is the most perfect business backpack I have ever had the pleasure of ... This is the most perfect business backpack I have ever had the pleasure of owning. It is the perfect size, it looks so professional and never looks like it's full of gym socks like most backpacks do regardless of what's actually in them. The size is beyond perfect, it costs less for me to travel with it because it is small enough to count as a personal item instead of a major carry on so it fits easily under the seat and no extra carry on charge for it - this backpack paid for itself in almost one flight :)Where do I start? the laptop compartment fits my 15.6 inch laptop perfectly, and the padding between the bag and my back is thick and sturdy, I have no worries when the top of my laptop is facing my back in the sleeve.Room for plenty in the main compartment, I fit shorts, shirts draws and hygienic pack easily in there along with a few choice electronic gadgets. The small compartment at the very top holds whatever I want easy access to and the bigger small compartment just below it holds my electric razor and several plugs for my electronic equipment. The side compartment holds my battery pack and optional umbrella (why bring it if i dont need it, right?) and so it looks awesome on me and I never worry about looking like a bum because you can see the quality in the material and the overall shape keeps it looking sharp and businesslike. The very front compartment holds all my cords and slimmer gadgets including my tablet and accessories, and that is all I really need in my line of work. The zippers do let me use my little luggage locks through the holes in the zipper tabs, which is always nice for peace of mind when I leave it unattended in a hotel room for any extended amount of time.I saw the reviews saying it was small but in my honest opinion this thing is absolute perfection, in more ways than one. Yes it is too small to go backpack hiking with or to what, put all your gym clothes and shoes in but this thing is magic when you are only taking overnight business essentials, and you are at the airport and they want to charge you carry on fees up the wazoo but they can't because it's a laptop bag that easily meets the dimensions requirements :)Perfect. 5Perfect size for being your under seat item, great durability Nine months in use for probably 180 travel days on airlines, in cockpits, even road trips. Almost no signs of wear and tear. I really had my doubts when I first got it, but I am really happy with this bag. No complaints from the TSA about the lay flat computer compartment, and it zips back together better than my last bag (sometimes it needs a bit of help to get the first 2 inches started, but goes right up after that). It is a great compromise between those giant military backpacks and too small laptop cases. It even fits under the "A" seat on the Embraer 135/145 even! Then, after takeoff, I pull it out from under the seat in front of me and use it as a leg rest to extend my seat, so I get my leg room back. The shape is great for using it like this, but it can work even better if you put an inflatable pillow on top of it. But even in this "stood up" configuration, you can get to basically everything. Use the top two compartments for medicines, gum, glasses, the things you would reach for most often, etc, and you can get to them under the seat in front of you or stood up, no problem.Holding its shape very well. Water bottles did not want to go in the side pockets at first but the elastic is stretching just enough to take the bottle, not enough to let them loose and fall out. I have really overstuffed the heck out of this thing and it does not complain, it just takes it all and then looks just fine afterwards. Main compartment has a bit of extra "stretch" by not completely closing the big main zippers that close the "lid". Or you can zip each side of the main closed about 3 inches and nothing is likely to fall out if you are just lazy. I would like to see a hidden zippered compartment somewhere on the outside, but it has so many internal dividers this really is a small quibble.I am almost tempted to buy another one just in case they stop making this for some crazy reason.... 5
