Customer Reviews

Know your car! No issues with the product itself, it is pretty sturdy, handles road vibrations pretty well and holds the tablet securely. Haven't had an issues with the product itself falling out or anything like that. It comes with an extra (optional) bracket for mountin the arm onto the car exterior for extra support however that kinda of car damage is not what I was looking for. I had to do some extra cutting and tweaking to the base of my car seat because my car seat bolts are not exposed. However once I was able to get the bolts exposed installation went by easy and a month or two into use no issues. Would definitely recommend. 599% perfect - best of all the ones I tired This was exactly what I needed for my Skoolie! I wanted a larger screen so I went for something to hold my I-Pad - the problem I had is between this being a Ford E-350 - with the door control mounted to the front console, I needed something that could handle the vibrations and still reach over all the hardware - this did everything I wanted - I didn't have to change anything - the mount as it came fit right over the main bolt for the door mechanism. Drove from the lower Hudson Valley to above Quebec and back and back - Despite the shaking and the bouncing thanks to the roads - it held just fine. Excellent actually. made using the music player while using the mapping / GPS program just what I wanted. If I could change one thing - it would be make it about 2 inches longer. The only negative I might have to comment on is the swivel locking knob for the holder; it does the job, but it took way more effort to finally get it to stop slipping; there has got to be a better way to do the job. BUT I LOVE THIS IT WAS PERFECT. 4If you need your device at your fingertips while driving, THIS is what you need! If you drive a lot for work, especially if you drive rideshare, this is the mount for you! It's the perfect height, and bolts on the front left passenger seat bolt. The post is flexible, but very, very strong. It's actually made out of a solid piece of soft metal. It's hard to get the exact right position for optimum use (as it should be), but once it's there, it's not going to bounce or move around at all. Speedbumps, pot holes, or rough country dirt roads do not budge this thing one bit. I use it for either my iPad gen 4, or my iPhone 6s Plus and they don't don't move at all in the holder. It's also very easy to take your device in or out. One side of the bracket is stationary, and the other side is a strong spring, so your device comes in or out with one smooth motion. If you're concerned about the mount being too invasive, don't be. I have mine in a Mazda 6, and it's not even in the way. The arm has such a range of motion that you can fit it really anywhere. 5Not A Good Product I was disappointed in this mount. I didn't even get to try it as it didn't fit my tablet at all despite it being a normal sized 8-inch screen tablet. What I can tell you is it's stiff to the point where if I bend it I'm afraid it'll snap. The mount does not adjust at all. It has little pre-sized arms that slide into place which means your device either fits or doesn't, there's no middle ground or wiggle room at all. I wouldn't expect this product to hold up for that long but I can't test it for you because it spent about ten minutes in the open air before being boxed back up with a return label. 1rendering it useless. So I modified the bracket by bending it ... Installed it to the truck floor. Even without having the 10" tablet in the bracket just simply testing how stiff the mount is - that whole thing was shaking way too much. It was obvious that it could not stay stable while driving, rendering it useless. So I modified the bracket by bending it a bit out of 90 degree angle and mounted to the dashboard. Then I cut the aluminium rod to about 6" along with the goose neck to fit over it, bent it to 90 degree. That length prove to be adequate to eliminate the shake. Just keep length of the rod to minimal. That's the key. 2Big trucks like them also While these state car mount, we have used these in our large truck fleet as DOT requires driver log book tablets to be permanently mounted. The all metal design is perfect for the harsh environment they are used in. It took all of 10 minutes to mount each one using the seat bolt mounting flange - I would guess that 5 of those minutes were used in freeing them from their packaging. Nothing could have been easier. So far the drivers think their great and we have had no complaints regarding vibration and unintended movement during travel. Will purchase more now that we are satisfied with the quality. 5Well worth it! First of all, the product sent was an Arkon mount (which I am happy with). As others have stated, the tabs stick out rather far but I do not see how it inhibits use of the ipad. Another thing to note is that, while the first photo of this product shows an iPad mini mounted with the clamps on the horizontal, it actually does not work that way (even with the smaller set of tabs). You have to mount it with the tabs on the vertical (then rotate the mount however you wish). Holds very steady and the tabs can be adjusted to wherever you desire them to be gripping the tablet. This was particularly nice when trying to make cable connections accessible. Thus far I am very happy with my purchase. 5Sturdy, yet flimsy Use it in my delivery truck to hold a tablet for use as GPS.Will hold 7" - 9" tablets. Only issue (or good thing for some) is that the shaft is very sturdy. The shaft is actually a metal rod inside a plastic sleeve and is very hard to adjust. Definitely takes 2 hands, so get it right before you get behind the wheel, do not think of moving it while driving. Now on the other hand, the clamps for the tablet aren't made too well. The plastic is kinda flimsy. If your tablet is heavy or has a good case, it may not stay in the clamps very wellProbably will look for another type while I use this one for the time being.... 3Very sturdy construction. Although I haven't used it yet, my impression upon opening the packageis that it is a robust, sturdy piece of equipment. Three flex arm will not give or move unless you apply a certain degree of force. Far more than any vibration or shaking could do. You have to legitimately and purposefully want to adjust it. I will use it in the event I'm unsatisfied with my CD player mount. My only real concerns is that it will be in the way of my passenger, or at least give them a measure of inconvenience or discomfort and that it may not be able to extend high enough to be prominently visible without having to take my eyes father off the road than I'd like since the as is only 18 inches long. 4The bracket attached very easily and firmly First I have to say that this unit was mounted in a Ford F-250, so take that into consideration with this review. The bracket attached very easily and firmly. The main bar is very strong and adjusted as needed but did require some strength to get it into position. I have two minor complaints. 1. The I-Pad is constantly drooping down as the truck bouncing and vibrations cause it to move. I can not tighten the back nut any tighter as it is plastic and I am afraid of cracking it. 2. Secondly, while the overall bracket is very solid, it bounces around quite a bit, making it hard to read ( using Google Maps ) while on the move. But, for the price I paid, these are small issues! 4
