They are extremely strong and well made...and unlike many generic brands of zip ties, these have an amazing locking system. I have purchased many zip ties over the years, as I use them on a regular basis for work, and these outperform even those with a name brand and a high dollar amount.The pricing on these is incredible (go price them in a big box store), and the quality, length, and amount is perfect for almost any project you have going. You definitely cannot go wrong! 5They are definitely NOT strong. I bought them November 26, 2016. They were stored inside my home and I never had a need to use them until today (November 19, 2017). I couldn't use them. 8 out of 10 snapped like a toothpick while trying to tie them. I had to throw them away. I am surprised with all these good reviews. Did I get a bad batch or does plastic goes bad after a year? 1Mostly good Most of them are great and super strong. We use them to hold gridwall for trade shows. I have noticed a few bags that have a higher level of defective ties. They don't lock and they just slide apart. It's not enough to really be an issue but enough that I noticed. 4they just break These have let me down over and over again. I can break any one of them just by closing and pulling them all the way through. Now I need to replace them and take them all out of my tool kits to make sure I don't mistake them with a working zip tie 1Great ties These are a great general size to have around the home, big enough to handle most tasks without chaining them but not too big for small use. Perhaps not the strongest tie on the market, I still think these are plenty beefy for their size. Much more flexible than ties I've used in the past, made it very easy to bundle cables and operate the tie with only one hand.Quality is consistent, haven't run across a bad piece yet. 5Exceptional Product When I ordered this product I expected to get the same kind of merchandise as I would get from my local gardening store. Instead, I got a product that far exceeded my expectations. Each tie was in perfect condition, and each required opening was never blocked with excess plastic.These are heavy duty and was more than capable of holding up the privacy fence webbing against my border fencing.I'm very glad I purchased these and will certainly purchase it again if needed. 5Unusually high failure rate. What gives? I've used thousands of zip ties in all dimensions and colors over these many years, and this is the first time I've encountered as high a failure rate as I have with this batch. The failure is all the same, so it appears that it's a manufacturing defect for this run. I want to believe all the positive reviews, but it certainly hasn't been my experience. So what's the failure. It's the brake; there isn't any. I haven't had any snap on me, nor fail to be threaded. But, the main function of a zip tie is to lock in place, and out of 8 needed to be used today, 3 failed. Not a good track record. You can't test these out to discover how many are poorly made because, obviously, once used you aren't supposed to be able to thread them again. Maybe I found the only 3 bad ones in a bag of 150, but that's doubtful. Is it worth returning to Amazon? In my opinion no, because an extra trip to UPS isn't at all convenient. So, I'll learn from my mistake in ordering from this company, and perhaps now you've learned something too. 2Just what was needed. I don't really "love" zip ties, but this was exactly what I needed, when I needed it. I have a solar electric system and there is a bundle of cable under the unit held together by zip ties for more years than I can remember. . .then one day, following our 100+ degree weather, they all snapped. I wanted to make sure these were heavy duty and UV resistant. All is well and should hold for many more years and I have an extra 140 ties for future use. I feel like Inspector Gadget. 5Throw that junk you get in the large plastic bins filled with 10 different types away and just buy these. I'm not a huge zip tie fan. I use velcro wire wrappers or gorilla tape or aluminum tape for ducting stuff wherever possible. But, I needed these for a specific purpose and gave them a try and holy cow they live up to the claim that they are heavy duty. None of that snapping/breaking BS or having the clasp just give out under pressure. They REALLY take a beating! They are acting as actual structural components for an experiment I'm doing and they are holding up great! No stretching, snapping, nothing. Throw that junk you get in the large plastic bins filled with 10 different types away and just buy these. 5Sturdy zip ties for all your projects Originally I bought these zip ties to hang a privacy screen on a chain link fence. I chose them for their load-bearing capacity (50 pounds) and the fact that they are UV-resistant. Since then I have found a number of other uses for them for other outdoor projects. They are sturdy and more than long enough for my uses. Time will tell how they endure the weather. 5
