    What a great flashlight! I work in a security department in a hospital and we ordered a streamlight stinger 7 years ago and after quite a few drops and uses in bad weather it still works like a champ. It impressed me so much that I went out and bought one for myself. I really like the HP models of the stingers they throw a nice tight beam with a decent amount of flood light. Just research the different models and types of stingers before you order. I ordered the HP model not knowing the differences but I got lucky because I do like the more of tight beam throw to see greater distance's. Just FYI the "HL" models are high lumen output but meant for more of clearing a room in security or police work and not for long distances. The "HP" models are for reaching out with a tighter focused beams at longer distances. There also "standard" which is a decent mix. Also when it has the "DS" in the title it has a tailcap on off switch. Anyways you cant go wrong with these flashlights! what a tough SOB of a flashlight! 5Wow! I am not a flashlight techie like a lot of reviewers. I live in a rural area and the flashlight is invaluable for marauding Varmits and other unwanted visitors while walking or working at night, specifically Rattlesnakes in the season.Having been a former law enforcement officer, I knew the value of the flashlight in that kind of work and relied heavily on their written opinions here before deciding to purchase. I'm happy I did. I was so surpised upon using this light for the first time. I read about others claiming more lumens etc, but was most swayed by the LE guys using it daily. Well, they were right , the light output is astounding, it is well focused with just enough periphery light around the main beam to make orientation and tracking easy. The recharging, both ac and dc are great and well thought out. No battery changes or removal for re-charging......just slide it into the charger receiver by aligning the charging posts and it will snap into place with the re-charging light confirming proper contact. The light controls with a very traditional push button switch that was well thought out and easy to operate. The light is smaller and lighter than a old style c cell Kelite and is easily carried in a front or rear pocket. The non-slip rubber body grip is also a great feature. Quite honestly, if this light holds up as well as it initially functions it will well earn the five stars I gave it...only time and use will tell. I thought spending this much on a flashlight was crazy, but can tell you now..I was wrong. It is worth every penny and I highly recommend it. 5One of the better flashlights on the market I just bought several flashlights and headlights for this hunting season. This is the light I choose to install in my truck. It is bright, but not the brightest cost wise. It also comes with a dated 12 hour charger. Any flashlight in this price range should come with an updated fast charger. The biggest selling point for me is the design of the switch. So many of these flashlights require you to click, click, click until you get the power you want. Not something you want to be doing at night when a Cougar is following you down a mountain. This flashlight goes to bright on the first click. Just hold the button down and it will go through the power phase of medium and low. Click the button more then once quickly and you go to strobe. I really like this setup. Like any Streamlight, it is solid as a rock. You do not hear the battery flopping around, like many others do. If it would have come with a faster charger, I would have given it five stars. I am going to buy another one for my other vehicle as soon as I can afford it. Someone was using their head when they built this one. 4Streamlight 75761 HPL This is a review of the Streamlight 75761 HPL. Please note that the description given by Amazon is incorrect, firstly by calling it the Led HP and by then providing data on its performance which does not match either the data provided by the Streamlight website or on the box that my Flashlight arrived in. If that is not confusing enough I am not sure how many if any, of the reviews are right either. The item that used to be called Led HP is according to Streamlight discontinued.Now as to the description: the Flashlight that I received has the three settings High Medium and Low. High is 740 Lumens, 48,000cd, 438m distance and will last for 1hr 15min. That is significantly different to the description on Amazon. Medium and Low are also quite different.Putting all that aside, the performance is breathtaking, regardless of which setting you use. I had never spent over $100 on a Flashlight before and all I can say so far is that it performs admirably. My only concern is that I thought I was buying a flashlight with longer running time, as this one is half that in the description on Amazon. I will have to bear that in mind. Living in the middle of a forest with varmints of varying description on the prowl this Flashlight should suit me admirably.I just hope either Amazon or Streamlight will take note of my commentsUpdate: As the switch is now no longer working correctly I might be forgiven for saying, I should have returned this item in the first place. Now I will have to go through the procedure of returning to the manufacturer, which annoys me, as I presumably have to pay for the return and I note that my problem is not unique 1Love love love this light. I fricken love this flash light. I've owned and carried one or the last six years and love it. I'm only buying this one to replace one I left on the airplane in a hurry to get off. It never fails, it will spotlight a hanger on the other side of the airport and if you look into it, you'll have the perfect excuse not to fly that leg! Sounds like a win in my book. Batteries last forever as well. Over six years and still going strong. 5This thing is awesome Had an old stinger led ds loved it it got stolen have finally replaced it over a year later with this guy....damn I wish I'd gotten this one first this thing is brighter than the spotlight on my old squad car! A quarter of a mile away I can light up the sides of buildings! Streamlight I know it's good quality my last one ran 4yrs solid never had any complaints would still have it if it hadn't been stolen. I do wish it were dual switch though 420 years as a cop and this is the best light I have ever used 20 years as a cop and this is the best light I have ever used. Even better than their smaller version. I thought size would be an issue but it really isn't much bigger. Doing building searches, this will light up hallways the length of a football field like you have turned on all the light in the hallway. It has a great straight long distance beam that doesn't have black spots like a mag light and has some wide angle light as well. It is light weight and fits in the flashlight pocket in the back of my pants, without falling into it so I can't get to it quickly. I can't say enough goo about this light. This is the best purchase I have made in my career. 5It s a bright light but unfortunately mine stopped working after ... It s a bright light but unfortunately mine stopped working after 1 month of use. This is the second streamlight I ve purchased that has had problems. While using the light, it turned off in its own. I replaced the battery with a streamlight replacement and it did not work. Will update if I finish nd a solution.Also, when placed in the charging base, light turns on, on its own and will not click off. I ve removed the battery for safety and have sent out for inspection. 2Nice light but not worth the money unless you have a warranty claim 3 years after buying Nice solid light. Lens could be thicker/more durable. Not sure I trust it's water proof. For over $100 , unless you plan on making a warranty claim, I would suggest other alternatives. For a searchlight check out the Buysight rechargeable searchlight here on Amazon - it costs $20 or so. It's much brighter and more focused than even the highest setting of the Streamlight I'm reviewing here. For a "super flashlight" spend an extra $100 and get one of the serious models with multiple LEDs and different settings (yes, I know this one has three settings).All in all a nice light, not worth the price IMHO. There are brighter/cheaper equally functional lamps out there, and we're talking LED technology. So the failure rate is going to be very low no matter who you buy from. 4Best light in my collection. I'm a huge fan of high powered led flashlights, i own roughly 15 or so, and the original stinger is what I saw that got me hooked. This new stinger is amazing, bright bright bright!! I own several streamlight products, a protac hl, 2 stylus pros, a headlamp, and now this stinger hpl. Again I said "hpl", I ordered the led hp and they shipped me an hpl, 740 lumen, 48000 candela, 438 m beam!! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars as much as I really wanted to, is the battery... No lithium battery, however with the quick charger and extra battery you'll never have an issue with a dead light. Buy it, i know it's on the spend side, but after 2 years of looking at it "thru the glass" i have zero regrets. Best light I own now. 4
